No.6 - Paul McCartney's Lexus LS600h L
Paul McCartney’s Lexus LS600hL is the eco car that caused a commotion as it was flown from Japan to England just for Sir Paul. The car should have been shipped by conventional means, but Toyota thought it would be a good idea to fly just the one car to McCartney. Obviously, this method of transport was incredibly wasteful of fuel, kind of negating the point of buying a hybrid in the first place. It is said that Macca was “horrified” by the whole ordeal.

No.5 - Ringo Starr's Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 AMG
Forget Thomas the Train, the sweetest ride owned by the former Mr. Conductor is the blacked-out 1984 Mercedes-Benz 190E sedan tuned by AMG. It looks badass, but it packs only a tuned 2.3-litre four-banger under the hood. Though weak by today’s standards, this motor was able to rocket the car to a top speed of over 130 mph. This is definitely the toughest-looking car of the bunch, and it’s definitely one of our personal favourites. You can currently see this ride at the Mercedes-Benz museum in Germany.

No.4 - George Harrison's McLaren F1
Designed by renowned Formula 1 car designer Gordan Murray, the McLaren F1 is one of the most exclusive cars in the world. It was, for a while, the world’s fastest production car, cost over $1 million new, and only 100 were built. George Harrison owned one of these limited-edition machines; chassis No. 25, to be exact. Harrison’s McLaren F1 is painted Dark Purple Pearl, though many people confuse it for the aubergine (eggplant)-coloured chassis No. 16 car. Though it was rumoured Eric Clapton wanted to buy this car, it remains within the Harrison family.

Everywhere the Beatles went at the height of Beatlmania, their '65 Austin Princess went with them. Used as their personal limousine, there wasn't anything particularly extraordinary about the vehicle, just that it was and is synonymously "Beatles" through and through. After the Beatles' ownership, a man named Rod Pitman, in Portland, Oregon took possession of the vehicle and proceeded to "lose" it somewhere in Arizona. That was nearly 23 years ago. No.2 - George Harrison's Mini Cooper from Magical Mystery Tour
While motorheads will likely drool over Harrison’s DB5, McLaren F1 or Rocket, most Beatles fans would want to get their hands on his old Mini Cooper. But this isn’t just any Mini, Harrison owned the psychedelic Mini made famous in the Beatles’ film Magical Mystery Tour. BMW-owned MINI built a one-off modern interpretation of Harrison’s classic magical and mysterious Mini Cooper. It was auctioned off, with the proceeds going to the Material World Charitable Foundation.

No.1 - John Lennon's Rolls-Royce
Lennon bought his Rolls-Royce Phantom V new in 1965. Lennon modified the Rolls heavily, adding things like a fridge and a rear bench that could turn into a bed. Lennon also had the entire car painted matte black -- odd in 1965. The story goes that while filming "Sgt. Pepper," Lennon grew bored of the flat-black colour scheme and gave it the psychedelic paint scheme it still has today. Though thought of as an eyesore in the ‘60s, it eventually fetched almost $2.3 million at an auction in 1985. It now resides in Canada and does the North American museum circuit.

Похоже на ренундель, но не ренундель. У тех радиатор перед торпедой тусовался, а тут он ниже капота. И не клеман-байяр по той же причине. Может, двигатель вообще под сиденьем передним, а капот - для мебели. Где усик-пусик с деффками своими - машину зовут Helen Wheels. Ринго действительно возил свою кухню "людвиг" в минике, только тот миник стоял в ливерпульском музее, и был он зелёным в два цвета. (Harold Radford, впрочем.) Катафалк из музея Крузе - не вполне ленноновская машина, он в кино только снимался с ним.
С роликом цветастым - любопытное дело выходит. В одном из номеров FMNY на цветном развороте все четверо показаны на фоне белого фантомчика, а в одной из книжек про Леннона (такая была в твёрдом переплётике, типа Союз коньпозиторов делал) та же машина показана спереди, и виден гос.номер - FJB 111 C. И тот же самый номер стоит на наскрашенном экземпляре! Тайна, однако...

Разворот FMTY - последняя ))))) а номер действительно более ранний - "E registration". Может, машина не та?.. И - белый ролик в "Let It Be" откуда взялся, если цветной уже существовал? No reply...

Вот именно. ))))) На психомобиле не очень-то поездишь в нормальном трафике, моментально пробка образуется и нормальному трафику кирдык, по ходу ещё один себе взял... а позднее у него был белый мерсюк шестисотовый пульман, он ещё на нём медальку возвращать с шОфером своим отправил. (Та машина, из которой Джордж вылезает в "Let It Be", тоже шестисотовый, но не пульман.) Журнал "Mercedes Classic" в четвйртом, что ли, годе публиковал многостраничный обзор джоновского пульмана - он не шестидверный ни разу, как выяснилось, а нормальный...

AMG started off by designing and testing racing engines before expanding its business into building bespoke road trucks based upon standard Mercedes-Benz cars. By the early 1980s AMG had moved to Affalterbach under the sole ownership of Hans Werner Aufrecht. Erhard Melcher stayed at the second location, a former mill in Burgstall, to deliver engine parts. Mainly for the modern Mercedes-Benz W126 and Mercedes-Benz W201 models, AMG was producing a range of unofficial upgrade and accessories packages, although there were no official tie-ups until the mid '80s, when AMG started to supply the company with aftermarket alloy wheels and styling products. To take advantage of the DTM race successes, official AMG-Mercedes-Benz models were developed in the 1990s. In addition, AMG provides safety cars for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. A recent development, the AMG Performance Studio, located in Affalterbach, caters for bespoke modifications on all AMG and standard Mercedes-Benz models. In 1991 Daimler-Benz acquired 51 per cent of AMG - Aufrecht sold his remaining shares of the company in 2005 - and since the Mercedes-Benz takeover AMG sales have risen by over 500%.

Like AMG and Mercedes-Benz, two absolutely iconic automotive names, The Beatles arguably hold the crown for the title in musical terms. The story of this car is as interesting as it is impressive. Originally it was sold in standard 230E format to Jeff Lynne of the legendary 1970s and '80s band ELO. Jeff Lynne was the major creative force during this time contributing significantly to both the Out Of The Blue and Discovery albums. After a few years, it was passed on to Lynne's close friend George Harrison of The Beatles. The Beatles need no introduction, suffice to say that Harrison was a self confessed car collector and Coys had the pleasure to value his extensive collection some years ago. Harrison was not nearly satisfied with the 230's meagre performance and so commissioned AMG to go through the car and make it 'more interesting'. A 5.6 litre V8 power plant was fitted with the appropriate AMG instrument cluster as well as improved interior leather trim and body kit. Modifications were made to the exhaust system as well as other performance and handling improvements. A close friend of Mr Harrison's used to visit quite regularly, turning up in his old car and parking it in front of the Harrison mansion. Eventually Harrison, very good naturedly, gave the car to him just so he would not be able to see his good friend's banger spoiling the view. He has, of course, since died and it is through his widow and friend that the car has now come to market. Supplied with a brand new MoT test certificate, V5 registration document and a new DVLA supplied registration number, the previous plate being retained, this powerful and extremely individual motorcar is offered here at no reserve.
