KEITH RICHARDS NOT DOING 'PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 2'

Ever since Johnny Depp first revealed that he based his eccentric Pirates Of The Caribbean character partly on Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, there has been endless speculation about Richards doing a cameo in the upcoming Pirates sequels. Now comes word from Pirates director Gore Verbinski that Richards will definitely not have a cameo appearance in the second Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, but he's hopeful that he may show up in the third installment. Verbinski said: "We hope he does one in the third one. He's not in the second one. And it's going to come down to tour dates and lawyers. But I hope he shows up."

Before Verbinski went public with Richards' non-participation this weekend, Oscar-nominated Pirates Of The Caribbean star Depp had also said that any movie work on Richards' part would depend on his tour schedule: "I've talked to Keith about it and he's been super sweet and keen to do it. It's looking very good. It's just hoping that we can work out the dates with the Stones tour and everything. But, boy, if that happens, you talk about a dream come true. Get to be a pirate with Keith Richards?"

The Rolling Stones kicked off their "A Bigger Bang" world tour on Sunday (August 21st) in Boston and are expected to be on the road through mid-2006.

Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 has been in production since earlier this year. Work on the third Pirates movie is set to begin immediately after Pirates 2 is finished with principal photography. Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest opens in theaters next July.

Keith Richards has apologised to his Rolling Stones Colleague Mick Jagger for insinuating that he had a tiny penis.

After Richards was quoted earlier this week as saying: "His cock's on the end of his nose.”

“And a very small one at that. Huge balls. Small cock. Ask Marianne Faithfull."

The comments resulted in a massive falling out between the long time friends during their current US tour.

A spokesman for Richards has today said to The Sun: "He has apologised to Mick because he was trying to be complimentary and ended appearing offensive.

"But that's the end of the matter. He did say that Mick had big balls as in he admired him because he was gutsy and courageous. How would he know anything about the size of his willy?"

So Mick definitely has big balls then?

а ты почитай книгу Марианны Фейтфул "Faithful". Там такиииие смачные эпизодики описаны:) Джаггер много чего позволял себе...и по поводу Ричардса, и особенно Уаймена. Ребята любили шутить. Да и тетя Маша тоже девушка была озорная.

Stones police letter to be sold

A letter from the Rolling Stones that thanks police for providing security at a 1964 concert is expected to fetch £4,600 when it is auctioned next month.

The letter, signed by all five band members including the late Brian Jones, offers "sincere appreciation" to police in north London.

Dated 9 September 1964, it refers to a gig at the Finsbury Park Astoria four days earlier.

It will be sold at the Jubilee Auction Rooms in Wiltshire on 10 September.

The letter is addressed to the officer in charge of "Finsbury Park Police Station", which did not exist.

'Grateful'

It was forwarded by the Post Office to Highbury Vale Police Station, whose commander gave it to a young WPC - the letter's present owner.

"We would be grateful if you would thank the officers concerned on their behalf," it read.

The Rolling Stones did not always have such cordial relations with Her Majesty's Constabulary.

Six months later, Mick Jagger, Bill Wyman and Jones were arrested and charged with urinating on the wall of an east London petrol station.

And in February 1964, Jagger and Keith Richards ("Richard" in the letter) were arrested and charged with drugs offences.




A 90-minute concert film showing the Rolling Stones performing in Turin in 1990 will be screened at the London Imax cinema next month.
Rolling Stones at the Max shows the band perform 15 songs, including such classics as Satisfaction, Brown Sugar and Start Me Up.

The film will play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from 2 September until the end of November.

The band are currently in the US on the first leg of their A Bigger Bang world tour.

KEITH RICHARDS SAYS HUMOR IS PIVOTAL TO GOOD ROCK AND ROLL RECORDS

Keith Richards, currently out on tour with the Rolling Stones, has always paid homage to his early heroes by covering hits by Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley throughout the band's career. Richards says that a good sense of humor is pivotal to great music, telling azcentral.com that, quote, "Humor is absolutely important to a rock and roll record. When you think about the first rock and roll records, you hear (Jerry Lee Lewis') "Great Balls of Fire," (the Coasters') "Poison Ivy," and a lot of Chuck Berry -- there's a lot of humor in it. And it has to sort of balance out." Richards added that, "I mean, I really hate dirges. I like it better to make you laugh in one line and make you cry in the next."

On all the Stones' tours they've always sprinkled a few cover tunes in the setlist. On the current tour they've been performing Ray Charles' "Night Time." On past tours they've covered Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Beethoven," Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away," Eddie Cochran's "Twenty Flight Rock," and Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog," among others.

The Rolling Stones will be performing tonight (Friday, August 26th) in Hartford, Connecticut at Rentschler Field.
