** The following events in Beatles history all took place on November 15. **

------------------------------------------------------------------------
[B] Beatles * [J] John * [P] Paul * [G] George * [R] Ringo * [O] Other
------------------------------------------------------------------------

[B] 1959
Johnny and the Moondogs (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George
Harrison) perform in the final round of auditions for Carroll
Levis' "TV Star Search", at the Hippodrome Theatre, Ardwick,
Manchester, Lancashire. Judging is done by the volume of applause
garnered by each group when it is called back onto stage at the end
of the night. Since the Moondogs had no money to stay overnight
in Manchester, they were forced to head back to Liverpool before
they were called back onto stage. John, Paul, and George see
little reason to hope for success as 1959 comes to a close.

[B] 1960
The Beatles perform at the Kaiserkeller Club, Grosse Freiheit,
Hamburg, West Germany.

[B] 1961
The Beatles perform at the Cavern Club twice - at lunchtime and
then again at night.

[B] 1962
"Mersey Beat" magazine features an article by reporter Alan Smith
(using the pseudonym George Jones) asking, "Can the Beatles Become
International Stars?"

[B] 1963
On a tour of Britain, The Beatles perform two shows at Colston Hall
in Bristol.

[O] 1963
UK release of Fourmost single "I'm In Love" (Parlophone). The
song, credited to Lennon-McCartney, was written by John Lennon.
This is the second Fourmost single written by Lennon (earlier
they'd recorded and released "Hello, Little Girl"). Although The
Beatles never recorded "I'm In Love", John Lennon did record a demo
version of the song. The Fourmost's single will reach number 12 in
the UK charts. Released in the US on February 10, 1964 (Atco),
where it will fail to chart.

[G] 1968
While in the USA producing Jackie Lomax' first album, George
Harrison tapes an unannounced cameo walk-on for "The Smothers
Brothers Comedy Hour". Broadcast on Nov. 17.

[B] 1968
The "LA Times" newspaper publishes a review of the film "Yellow
Submarine". The reviewer calls the movie "…the most stupendous
animation feat in decades," but then states that The Beatles'
appearance at the end of the movie is "…a plain old let-down."

[O] 1969
The Star Club, in Hamburg, West Germany, announces that it will
close permanently before the end of the month, because it can no
longer afford to book rock bands.

[B] 1969
Fueled by "Paul Is Dead" rumors, two Beatles albums re-enter
Billboard's US charts: "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"
shows up at no. 124 and "Magical Mystery Tour" is at no. 146.

[R] 1971
Ringo's movie "Blindman" has its world premiere in Rome.

[R] 1974
UK release of Ringo Starr LP "Goodnight Vienna" (Apple). Songs:
"(It's All Da-Da Down to) Goodnight Vienna", "Occapella", "Oo Wee",
"Husbands and Wives", "Snookeroo", "All By Myself", "Call Me", "No
No Song", "Only You (and You Alone)", "Easy for Me", and "Goodnight
Vienna (reprise)".

[R] 1974
UK release of Ringo Starr single "Only You (and You Alone)/Call Me"
(Apple). Released on the same day as the "Goodnight Vienna" LP.

[G] 1976
US release of George Harrison single "This Song/Learning How to
Love You" (Dark Horse). 11 weeks on Billboard chart; highest
position #25.

[B] 1978
US release of Beatles interview LP "Beatle Talk" (Great Northwest
Music Co.). Press conferences from August 22, 1964 (Vancouver) and
August 25, 1965 (Seattle). Narrated by Red Robinson.

[J] 1982
UK release of John Lennon single "Love/Give Me Some Truth"
(Parlophone). New remixed version of "Love". [Note: "Give Me Some
Truth" was originally titled "Gimme Some Truth"].

[P] 1993
UK release of CD, double LP (clear vinyl), and cassette
"strawberries oceans ships forest" (Parlophone). Album credited to
"The Fireman", actually recorded by Paul McCartney and engineer
Youth. Tracks: "Transpiritual Stomp", "Trans Lunar Rising",
"Transcrystaline", "Pure Trance", "Arizona Light", "Celtic Stomp",
"Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest", "444", and "Sunrise Mix".
