The "Daily Mirror" informs that Tommy Quickly will not have his recording contract with Pye Records renewed when it expires in July. Epstein says he has not had good material, and that will very soon sign to another company.

1966
Appearance on BBC-radio's "Saturday Club".

1967
Epstein presents the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Denny Laine and his Electric String Band (in their 1st ever appearance), Procol Harum (full concert debut), and the Chiffons, in 2 houses in a Saville Theatre Sunday presentation. Morning: before the show, Procol Harum are told they are number 1 in the next week's chart with "A Whiter Shade Of Pale". As only present they received a bottle of champagne from Brian.

After the concert, it is announced that Procol Harum will return to the Saville Theatre to headline in a Brian Epstein Sunday presentation.

1968

Подумалось,что может точно у имени первой леди США есть битловский след,но выяснилось,что она родилась в 1964-м,за год до появления песни Битлз!Так что согласен -повезло,что родители так назвали(тезис про тётку опускаю,я считаю её обаятельной женщиной и ТЁТКА -это,по-моему,как-то не про неё).
Насчёт удачно вышла замуж?Ну ,наверно, так и есть,только бы жили счастливо.

1966--On US television, "The Ed Sullivan Show" broadcasts color promo films for both songs on The Beatles' latest single, Paperback Writer and Rain
1967--The Beatles' album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band reaches #1 in the UK charts. It will hold the #1 position for 27 weeks.

1968--The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Three, EMI Studios, London). Recording begins on Ringo Starr's song, Don't Pass Me By, which he had partially written as early as 1963. Three takes of the basic track, then overdubs are added. Although Ringo had referred to this song as Don't Pass Me By during interviews back in the Beatles' early days, its working title for this session is "Ringo's Tune (Untitled)." It will later be called "This Is Some Friendly" and, still later, be renamed Don't Pass Me By.

1972--UNICEF awards its "Child Is the Father of the Man" award to George Harrison and Ravi Shankar for their efforts to aid the starving people of Bangladesh.

Полчаса как вернулся с концерта Ринго(обратно до Тамбова сутки добирался!На ишаках!).Впечатления переполняют,очень здорово пел,играл и выглядел Ринго!Как будто мы ровестники(а я на 20 лет младше!).Молодец!
Сейчас готовлю пропущенный день в истории Битлз -6 июня!

1960--The Silver Beetles perform at the Grosvenor Ballroom, Liscard, Wallasey. This is the first time they ever appear on the same bill with Gerry and the Pacemakers, the two groups destined to become Liverpool's most successful beat groups.

1960--Roy Orbison's Only The Lonely is released.

1961--The Beatles perform at the Top Ten Club, Reeperbahn, Hamburg, West Germany.

1962--The Beatles' first recording session at Abbey Road Studios, London, their EMI / Parlophone audition. After playing a large number of songs and getting the "thumbs-up" for actual recording, The Beatles record four songs: Besame Mucho and three Lennon-McCartney songs, Love Me Do, P.S. I Love You, and Ask Me Why
1964--The Beatles, on a world tour, perform two shows at an auction hall (Veilinghal Op Hoop Van Zegen) in Blokker, The Netherlands. Drummer Jimmy Nicol fills in for the hospitalized Ringo Starr. Television news and newsreel cameras film The Beatles' second performance.

1966--The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Three, EMI Studios, London). A session devoted primarily to tape copying and mixing, but Paul McCartney does add the final vocal overdub to Eleanor Rigby.

1966--Brian Epstein forms Nemperor Artists Inc. in New York, with Nat Weiss.

1966--Claudette Orbison, wife of singer Roy Orbison, dies in a motorcycle accident.

1968--The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Two, EMI Studios, London). Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr work on Don't Pass Me By. John Lennon films an interview with Victor Spinetti, discussing the upcoming National Theatre production, "In His Own Write," based on John's book and directed by Spinetti.
1968--John Lennon appears on BBC2’s art program “Release,” to talk about his songwriting and the staging of the Old Vic play based on his writings. The show is aired on June 22.

1969--The Lennons return from Canada to London: via bus to Ottawa, train to Toronto, a flight to Frankfurt (with more immigration hassles with the German authorities), and finally a plane across the Channel.

1970--The Beatles album, Let It Be, reaches #1 in the UK.

1971--John Lennon and Yoko Ono make a surprise stage appearance with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, at New York's Fillmore East. This was an impromtu turn of events, and it just happened that the Mothers’ concert was to be recorded .
1981--John Lennon’s new single, (Just Like) Starting Over / Woman, is released in America
1986--Dick Rowe, the former head of A&R at Decca Records and the man forever tagged “the man who turned down The Beatles,” dies in London at age 64.

1999--The Sunday Mirror reports that George Harrison has turned down a request by Henley officials to tour the grounds of his Friar Park mansion. George had requested permission to build a sub-tropical rainforest and swimming pool on the grounds and the district officials wrote back giving their blessing and asking for a private tour. George’s architects replied denying their request

1963--The Beatles, touring with Roy Orbison, perform at City Hall, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Athough Orbison was booked as the headliner, at this point, no pop-rock act can close a show that features The Beatles.

1963--Valentine magazine publishes photographs of The Beatles at the swimming pool of the University of London Union.

1964--Travel: Amsterdam to Hong Kong.On the morning of 7 June 1964 The Beatles flew from Amsterdam to Hong Kong, a journey which took in refueling stops in several countries and lasted more than 24 hours.
The group first flew back to London Airport where their connecting flight was postponed for an hour to allow them to catch it. Once they were on board the BEA 10.15am flight to Hong Kong began.
The aeroplane made scheduled stops in Zurich, Beirut, Karachi, Calcutta and Bangkok before arriving in Hong Kong.

1966--The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Two, EMI Studios, London). Recording Good Day Sunshine. Laying down the basic track and recording overdubs, although more overdubs will be added the following day.

1967--The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Two, EMI Studios, London). More work on You Know My Name (Look Up the Number). The Beatles record piano, drums, lead guitar, bass, and vibraphone. Brian Jones, a member of The Rolling Stones, is in the studio visiting, and he performs an alto saxophone overdub at the invitation of Paul McCartney
1968--George and Ringo fly to Hollywood as guest artists for a Ravi Shankar film. 1st trip of a Beatle out of England while sessions are in progress.

Michael McCartney marries.

1969--‘Yellow Submarine’ LP, 21st and last week in the Top 100 (Billboard).
‘Get Back’ number 1, 3rd week; 5th week in the Top 30 (Billboard).

John and Yoko appear on the ‘David Frost Show’.


1971--UK re-release of the LP, The Beatles First, under a new title, The Early Years (Contour).

1974--Wings' single, Band on the Run, is #1 in the US charts.

1976--US LP release: ‘Rock’n'Roll Music’.



1981--Yoko Ono’s first album since John Lennon’s death (and her first solo LP since 1974) is released in the US. (It will be released in the UK on June 12.) Season Of Glass features

1965--Broadcast of the last Beatles BBC radio program, "The Beatles Invite You to Take a Ticket to Ride," which had been taped on May 26.

1967--The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Two, EMI Studios, London). More experimental jamming, and recording for You Know My Name (Look Up the Number). At the end of the session (which began at 7:00 p.m. and ended at 2:00 a.m.), George Harrison takes home a rough mono mix of 20 minutes of the instrumental experiments reduced into one take (take 24).

1967--A press release announces the beginning of the "Yellow Submarine" film project. It is reported that The Beatles will provide at least three new songs for the soundtrack.

1968--George Harrison and Ringo Starr fly to Hollywood as guest artists for a Ravi Shankar film. This is the first time any of The Beatles have left England during scheduled recording sessions. Four recording sessions are cancelled. Sometime during their trip, both George and Ringo take part in a jam session at the home of Peter Tork, one of The Monkees.
1976--Capitol Records tries to revive Beatlemania by issuing some of the Fab Four's rockers in a package called, Rock 'n' Roll Music. Even though Ringo Starr speaks out against it, it makes it up to #2.
1993--UK release of remastered CD versions of Paul McCartney and Wings albums: McCartney, Band on the Run, Venus and Mars, Wild Life, London Town, Ram, and Red Rose Speedway

1962--The Beatles perform at the Cavern Club, Liverpool, a night session. Just back from Hamburg, The Beatles appear at The Cavern for a "Beatles Welcome Home Show," setting a new attendance record at the club of 900.

1963--The Beatles, on the last night of their tour with Roy Orbison, perform at King George's Hall, Blackburn, Lancashire
1964--US release of the interview LP, The Beatles American Tour With Ed Rudy (Radio Pulsebeat News Documentary No. 2). Interviews taped during The Beatles' visit to the US in February 1964. 13 weeks on Billboard chart; highest position #20.

1964--The Beatles, on their first world tour, perform two shows at the Princess Theatre in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
The Beatles had been met at the airport in Hong Kong by 1,000 fans. Drummer Jimmy Nicol continues to fill in for the ailing Ringo Starr.

1966--The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Two, EMI Studios, London). Good Day Sunshine is finished. Additional overdubs are recorded, including George Martin's honky-tonk piano part.

1966--On the UK television show "Top of the Pops," a promo film of The Beatles' song Rain is broadcast. The film clip shows The Beatles in the gardens of Chiswick House.

1967--The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Two, EMI Studios, London). The first attempt at assembling a complete song out of the parts recorded for You Know My Name (Look Up the Number). By the end of the session, the basic track is mixed and ready for vocal overdubs, but these will not be added until April 30, 1969.

1967--The Monkees appear in concert at the Hollywood Bowl.

1971--Paul McCartney's Ram LP goes gold.

1972--While they are in California, Elliot Mintz interviews the Lennons about their new LP, Some Time In New York City. John and Yoko split their time on the West Coast between Santa Barbara and a Japanese hotel in San Francisco
1973--The Beatles' compilation LP, The Beatles 1962-1966, is #1 in the UK charts.

1977--George and Pattie Harrison are granted a divorce. Pattie would later marry Harrison’s long-time friend, Eric Clapton.

1986--UK re-release of The Beatles’ single, Paperback Writer / Rain (Parlophone). 20th anniversary reissue. Issued as a regular single and also as a picture disc.

Today The Beatles History:

1961--The Beatles perform at the Top Ten Club, Reeperbahn, Hamburg, West Germany.

1963 The Beatles perform at the Pavilion in Bath, Somerset.

1963--Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas release Do You Want To Know A Secret. It was not a hit in the US.

1964--The Beatles, on their first world tour, fly from Hong Kong to Australia.

1966--UK release of The Beatles’ single, Paperback Writer / Rain (Parlophone). 7 weeks on the charts; highest position #1.

1968--The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Three, EMI Studios, London). John Lennon compiles sound effects and tape loops for Revolution 9. Credited to The Beatles, Revolution 9 will primarily be a creation of John and Yoko, with some assistance from George Harrison.

1968--In the US, George Harrison films an appearance with Ravi Shankar for a documentary feature film about Shankar. The film is to be called "East Meets West," but it is not released until three years later, at which time it is titled "Raga."

1940--Joey Dee (of the Starlighters, whose big hit was Peppermint Twist) is born in Passaic, New Jersey.

1961--The Beatles perform at the Top Ten Club, Reeperbahn, Hamburg, West Germany.

1962--The Beatles perform at the Cavern Club at lunchtime and then again at night.

1964--Ringo Starr leaves the hospital in England and makes plans to join the other Beatles who are in Australia on a world tour.

1965--Paul returns from holiday in Portugal, at Brian’s request, to attend the next day’s press conference

1966-- Brian receives the article published in the ‘Palladium’ of Richmond, Indiana

1968--Studio 2. 6.30pm-12.15am. Recording: ‘Blackbird’ (takes 1-32). Mono mixing: ‘Blackbird’ (remixes 1-6, from take 32). Studio 3. 7.00-10.15pm. Recording: ‘Revolution 9′ (unnumbered takes of sound effects). Producer: George Martin; Engineer: Geoff Emerick; 2nd Engineer: Phil McDonald.
1968--Visit at the studio: Francie Schwarts. While recording ‘Blackbird’, Paul is filmed for a BBC Australia video.

1969--‘The Ballad Of John And Yoko’ number 1 (UK Record Retailer chart).

1970--John and Yoko announce they will continue their vacations in the state of California for some time.

1993--Paul’s concert in New York (‘The New World Tour’)

Today The Beatles History:

1961 – The Beatles perform at the Top Ten Club, Reeperbahn, Hamburg, West Germany.

1962 – The Beatles perform lunchtime and nighttime shows at the Cavern Club, Liverpool.

1963 – The Beatles perform at the Grafton Rooms, Liverpool, in a special concert to aid a children’s charity, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. The Beatles accepted no fee for their appearance.

1963
‘Please Please Me’ LP, 12th week in the Top 10 (UK New Musical Express chart).

The London ‘Daily Sketch’ reproduces charts of ‘Melody Maker’ (Britain) and ‘Cash Box’ (USA).

Acts managed by Brian occupy places 1, 2 and 3 of the New Musical Express chart.

Charity performance at the Grafton Ballroom, Liverpool.

1964
Arrival in Australia. 300,000 people welcome them on Adelaida’s streets.
Ringo, with Brian, flies to Australia. Concert at the Centennial Hall, Adelaida, Australia. Jimmy Nicol on drums. Taped for ‘Beatles Show’, Australian radio programme.

1965
A spokesman of the British government announces the Beatles have been named to the MBE.
‘Daily Mirror’ headline: ‘Beatles, MBE!’.
Morning: Beatles parents receive flowers sent by Brian.
Morning: Brian is interviewed on BBC’s Light Programme ‘Late Night Extra’ by telephone from his Blackpool hotel room.
Later, Brian flies from Blackpool to London and then drives to Weybridge to collect John, who is very late for the press conference.
Lunchtime: press conference at Twickenham Film Studios. Brian attends. Paul affirms that MBE must stand for ‘Mister Brian Epstein’.

1968
Recording session cancelled due to George and Ringo’s abscenses.

1972
US LP release: ‘Some Time In New York City’.

1995
Westwood One radio broadcasts ‘Oobu Joobu’ Part 5.
