At the Baynard Gallery, an exhibition of Linda's photograghs opens. It runs until June 1st.
Paul does more work on his song "Same Time Next Year", adding a 68-piece string orchestra.
1979
Capital Radio broadcasts a Beatles feature which included separate interviews with George Harrison and George Martin.
1982
Paul and Linda make an unexpected visit on the BBC1 show "Top Of The Pops".
1991
Ringo's album Ringo is released on CD in the US (Atlantic 7 82416-2).
1997
US album release: Chants Of India, Ravi Shankar's latest with George contibuting acoustic guitar, bass, autoharp and glockenspiel.
US single release: "The World Tonight"/"Looking For You" (Capitol C2 8 58650 2).
1998
George appears at the High Court in London, defending the Beatles against Lingasong Music.
1999
Paul's art exhibition at the Kunstforum Lyz in Hamburg with 75 of his 500 private paintings.
2002
A poll by the Guinness Hit Singles book ranks the UK's favourite singles of all time. "Imagine" by John Lennon was voted in at #2 and the Beatles' "Hey Jude" came in at #3.
2004
A sale at Christie's in London became the most successful pop auction in the company's history after Beatles' memorabilia sold for a record Ј788,643. The auction included a leather collar worn by John, which sold for Ј117,250. A signed copy of a management deal with the Beatles and manager Brian Epstein sold for Ј122,850. A Vox Kensington guitar used by John and George went for Ј100,000. Also sold - a coloured felt-pen drawing by John (Ј10,000), a letter with his signature (Ј5,500), and a pen-and-ink drawing called "Happy Fish" (Ј9,500)
