Åse Agneta Fältskog was born on 5 April 1950 in Jönköping, Kristina congregation.

Father: Knut Ingvar Fältskog (born 22 August 1922 in Jönköping, Sofia congregation) , mother: Birgit Margareta (born: 26 May 1923 in Jönköping, Sofia congregation, her name as unmarried: Johansson).

Agnetha has a younger sister called Mona, who is a nurse and likes to keep out of the stoplight

Agnetha was very talented, at the early age of six she wrote her first song 'Two Little Trolls.'

Whenever Agnetha was 16 she started singing in a dance band called 'Bernt Engharts.' She wrote a song for the band 'I Was So In Love' and it was her first hit, this song was released in 1967 and a number one hit in Sweden.

The very first professional photo session with Agnetha was taken at the beginning of 1968.

Another photo session was taken in Stockholm on the island Södermalm in the winter of 1968.

Anni-Frid Lyngstad was born on November 15, 1945 in Björkåsen near Narvik in Norway.

Her mother, Synni, was Norwegian and she died when Frida was little more than 1 year old. Her father was a German officer, who disappeared in 1945 from Norway and did not know that he had a daughter in Norway.

Frida came together with her Grandmother to Sweden when she was 2 years old. They lived in the landscape called Härjedalen firstly, then they moved to Torshälla, a suburb to the city of Eskilstuna where Frida grew up. Her grandmother was working as a tailor and when Frida talks about her "mother" she thinks about grandmother.

The music came early into her life. When she was 11 years old she was on stage for the first time singing "Fjorton år tror jag visst att jag var" (Fourteen years old I think I was) on red-cross soiré. She started working as a singer when she was 13.

Frida started in Ewald Ek's dance band playing mostly swing music. Later she started to collaborate with Bengt Sandlund's big band in Eskilstuna. She met there Ragnar Fredriksson working as carpet seller and playing in the band on the evenings. She married Ragnar and gave birth to two children: Hans and Lise-Lotte.

The first single released in 1969 contained "Härlig är vår jord" (Our earth is wonderful) and "Räkna de lyckliga stunderna blott" (Count only the happy moments) - both tracks had been recorded in December 1968, three days before Christmas. The single was released at the end of March 1969 and it entered the Swedish chart "Svensktoppen" in April reaching # 8. After two years of hard work Frida finally could enjoy some commercial success.

Anni-Frid participated in the TV series produced by Swedish TV in Malmö entitled "När stenkakan slog". She performed several songs -most of them remain still unreleased on CD.

Björn Kristian Ulvaeus was born in Göteborg (Gothenburg) in Sweden on April 25, 1945. When he was eleven years old, his family moved to Västervik in south-eastern part of Sweden. He started playing guitar in a folk group. At the ago of seventeen Björn called three of his musical pals together and told them that he wanted to form a jazz band.

The first single and LP.
The first thing that Stikkan Anderson did was changing the name West bay Singers to Hootenanny Singers. The first record for Hootenanny Singers was "Jag väntar vid min mila", an old Swedish traditional song about people who worked in the forest. The single became a big success in Sweden. Stikkan Anderson had just launched his own label - Polar Records and Björn's group was the first artists signed on this label.

Benny Andersson was born on December 16, 1946 in Stockholm. He grew up in the suburb of Stockholm - Vällingby (go.to/ABBA related). He left the school life at fifteen without taking any of examinations and devoted all his time to music. He played accordion and piano.

During his teenage years, Benny started to perform at youth clubs together with a singer Christina Grönvall. She became mother to Benny's two children Peter born on August 20, 1963 and Helene on June 25, 1965. Benny played in the group Elverkets Spelmanslag. One evening the group was watched by Svenne Hedlund, lead singer in one of the biggest rock acts in Sweden in the 60s - Hep Stars. Svenne was impressed by Benny and several weeks later when Hep Stars' organist left the group it was natural to call Benny and ask for help.
