New Bon Jovi Studio Album, Tour Due Next Spring

NEW YORK (Billboard) - A new Bon Jovi album due in the spring will be a "loud guitar, big rock record," Jon Bon Jovi told Billboard in a recent interview. "We're very excited about it, and I'm very confident it's going to be a big record for us."

Guitarist Richie Sambora added the band will launch a world tour in the late spring to support the album, dates for which have not yet been announced.

"I think we stumbled upon something again on this particular record, kind of like what happened with 'It's My Life,"' Sambora said. "When (that) came out, it seemed to give Bon Jovi a whole new audience. We've always had a vast audience base, but with this new record, what I'm feeling (is) it's kind of a new direction. It sounds very fresh, yet it sounds like us."

"It's My Life" was the first single from Bon Jovi's 2000 album "Crush," which went double-platinum (shipments in excess of two million copies) in the United States.

The band worked with producer John Shanks (Michelle Branch, Melissa Etheridge), who also co-wrote tracks with Jon Bon Jovi and Sambora. The album was recorded late this summer.

Jon Bon Jovi noted changes in the climate of the country, and the state of the music business, influenced the songwriting on the new album.

The songs reflect "personal and introspective views on issues I may have had growing up that I certainly would have never discussed publicly before. I've always kept this 'chin up, glass is half-full' kind of optimism, and (now) I showed some chinks in the armor."

The song "Last Man Standing" depicts the band leader's unhappiness with the music industry. He said it reflects his "disgust of the music business in general, and its lack of true vision when it comes to supporting the artistry of developing a song, the songwriter and the bands on the road."

"Instead of creating what Andy Warhol once called '15 minutes of fame,' I think it's down to just three minutes and 30 seconds," he says. "I don't know how this industry is ever going to have another Bob Dylan (news) when it's all about the single, (not) the album and the vision and that inspiration. (It's) all for the sake of a 99-cent download so they can sell bulk and make their bonuses. It's heartbreaking."

A four-CD/one-DVD box set, "100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong," will be released Nov. 16 via Island.

In conjunction with its release, the band will stage a Nov. 21 concert at the Borgata in Atlantic City, N.J. The show will be the basis of the premiere episode of "INHD's Center Stage," which will be broadcast live on the high-definition cable network INHD and its spinoff INHD2. It will also be cybercast on Samsung Electronics America's Web site.

Bon Jovi is also confirmed to make a Nov. 23 appearance on NBC's "Today" morning show.

A new Bon Jovi album was completed and declared "in the can" late last year, but since then subsequent release dates have come and gone. The below article appeared in the New York Daily News yesterday and would explain the delays. The new album is now scheduled for release in September.

Article from June 8, 2005: "Jon Bon Jovi says bad weather, not recording differences with L.A. Reid, forced him to skip a birthday bash for the Island Def Jam boss.

Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Denzel Washington, Sean Combs, Patti LaBelle and Ludacris were among those who braved Monday night's rain to wish Island Def Jam chief L.A. Reid a happy 48th birthday. But where was Jon Bon Jovi?
Some at the Soho Grand affair whispered that the rocker was in no mood to toast Reid.

"L.A. wasn't satisfied with Bon Jovi's new album," one source claims. "He didn't believe it had a radio hit. So - just like they did with Mariah - he sent Jon back into the studio." Reid scoffs at talk of a feud. "Jon called to say he couldn't make it to the party because of the weather," Reid tells us. "He had to fly in a helicopter [from his New Jersey estate]."

And the album? "I'm always sending people back to the studio," says Reid. "But Jon sent himself back. Jon had just finished the album when I got here [from Arista]. He wasn't so knocked out by it. So he worked on it some more and he really pulled it out."

Reid says he has two "wonderful" singles - Have a Nice Day and Welcome to Wherever You Are - loaded for release this summer. The album is due in September."

Bon Jovi will release a new album in September. The album is yet to be titled but the first single announced will be called 'Have A Nice Day'.

'Have A Nice Day' will be heard from July 18th.

The album has been completed and the complete songlist is "Have A Nice Day," "I Wanna Be Loved," "Welcome To Wherever You Are," "Who Says You Can't Go Home?" "Last Man Standing," "Bells Of Freedom," "Wildflowers," "Last Cigarette," "I Am," "Complicated," "Novocaine," and "Story Of My Life."

Meanwhile, Bon Jovi will appear at Live 8 in Philadelphia on July 2nd.

Bon Jovi Surrounds Slippery When Wet

Bon Jovi's classic album 'Slippery When Wet' will soon be re-released as a DVD in 5:1 surround sound.

The 1985 album was the third album for Bon Jovi. It went on to sell 12 million copies worldwide.

'Slippery When Wet' was recorded in Vancouver by producer Bruce Fairbairn and mixed by Bob Rock.

The album will be reissued on September 20, the same day as their new 9th studio album 'Have A Nice Day'

Bon Jovi book new Wembley stadium

Bon Jovi were the last musical act to play at the old stadium
Bon Jovi have become the first band to announce they will perform at the new Wembley Stadium in London when it opens after six years of rebuilding.
The US rockers will appear at the new venue on 11 June 2006, a month after it is due to open with the FA Cup Final.

Wembley said it was likely to be the first concert at the new stadium, but other acts were also being lined up.

Bon Jovi were the last musical act to play at the old stadium in 2000 before it was knocked down.

Singer Jon Bon Jovi said: "The band and I are looking forward to performing at the new Wembley and creating new memories with our fans. It's going to be an incredible night."

The band's latest album Have A Nice Day has just gone in at number two in both the UK and US albums charts.

As well as football, the old Wembley stadium became known for high-profile concerts including Live Aid, Queen, Michael Jackson and The Rolling Stones.

Bon Jovi have jokingly asked The Rolling Stones to open their Wembley Stadium show next year.

Jon Bon and co. are notoriously the first band to have the prestigious honour of headlining the newly renovated stadium - much to the dismay of many big acts.

Speaking to Virgin Radio, Jon humorously gave The Stones a chance to open the stadium.

He said: “Well it’s booked, but if they (The Rolling Stones) really want to open the venue, they can go on before us. I think that’s a great idea.”

What a bloody funny guy! Hmm.

Странный какой-то релиз Crossroad... Особенно второй диск с якобы бисайдами (там бисайдов-то пара-тройка вещей, остальные всем известные) и ДВД который уже издавался под названием Live From London. Чисто коллекционная штука. Но тем не менее она мною будет куплена по-любому :)
