Performance by The Quarry Men at the New Clubmoor Hall in Liverpool. This is the first documented photograph of John and Paul together.
1962
Cavern lunch session: The Beatles.

In the US, ABC TV premieres the Dick Clark production of "The Birth Of The Beatles". Technical advisor for the film is Pete Best.

At the Beverly Theater in Los Angeles, the stage play "Beatlemania" runs for a limited time.
BBC Radio One transmits a brief pre-recorded interview with Paul on the show "Newsbeat".

Ringo records the narration for 26 more episodes of "Thomas The Tank Engine And Friends".
Tom Evans, former member of Badfinger, is found hanged in his home in Surrey. He was 36.

Paul makes the rounds promoting the UK release of the film "Give My Regards To Broad Street".
