Evening: Tele-recording of the final of the Rediffusion Television's "Ready Steady Win!" contest. On the panel are Bill Haley, Brian Matthew and Georgia Brown. Brian is the chairman of the panel.
1965
"Help!" single, 7th week in the Top 10 (UK Record Retailer).

An official report states that Brian's death was accidental, due to accumulation of bromide contained in a drug known as Carbitral.

Performance on the David Frost TV show, "Frost On Sunday", singing "Hey Jude" (filmed September 4, 1968).
1969
Start of Ringo's stay for observation at the Middlesex Hospital, London.
1971
John and Yoko appear on ABC TV's program "The Dick Cavett Show". A clip from this show is included in the Tom Hanks film "Forrest Gump".
1973
"Live And Let Die", 8th week in the Top 40 (US Billboard).
1974
Band On The Run number 1, seventh and last week (UK New Music Week).
Final date for John to leave the US, as ordered by the US Immigration Service.
1976
Capitol Radio in London broadcasts the Beatles' version of "Love Of The Loved", from their Decca Records audition on January 1, 1962. This is the very first time the Beatles' version is aired on any radio station in the world.
1977
Jimmy McCulloch leaves Wings to join Small Faces, whose tour begins in four days.
1980
Day Twenty-nine of Double Fantasy sessions: Overdubbing work on "Woman".
1983
New York's Museum of Broadcasting showcase Beatles achieve clips documentary "The Beatles Early Days" and several other films from the museum's personal collection, including the "Ed Sullivan Show" appearances and excerpts from their Washington, D.C. concert on February 11, 1964.
Abbey Road's Number Two studio presents "The Beatles At Abbey Road", 3 times a day.
1984
The "Art Of The Beatles" Exhibition, portraying 30 years of the group in the form of cartoons, paintings, photographs, album covers, lithographs and sculptures, continues.
In the US, MTV airs the MPL documentary "The Music Lives On". Also included is Paul's September 14, 1979 performance of "It's So Easy" and "Bo Diddley" from the Hammersmith Odeon in London. The show is also aired on Channel Four/ITV network in the UK. It coincides with the begining of the annual Budddy Holly Week celebration.
1987
The "Beatle City" exhibition runs at the West End marketplace in Dallas, Texas.
1988
The Beatles' film "Yellow Submarine", divided into three parts, airs Part Three this evening.
At the NFT (National Film Theatre) in London, a celebration honoring Handmade Films. All of Handmade films are shown from "Monty Python's Meaning Of Life" to the current release, "Track 29".
In the US, yesterday's interview with Paul at the Buddy Holly luncheon in London is aired on the NBC TV program "Today". Paul gives his ideas about Albert Goldman's book on John.
Also aired is a segment with George Martin, live via satelitte from London. He also dismisses Goldman's book as "the book has grave inaccuracies about himself."
In the UK, John's sister Julia Baird appears on TV AM to promote her book "John Lennon: My Brother".
1995
Klaus Voorman, at Apple's Ovington Square offices in London, finishes work on the cover for Beatles Anthology.
1997
Photographic exhibition of Linda at the Museum of the City of San Francisco.
Rykodisc releases the first batch of Yoko's albums on CD: Seasons Of Glass (Ryko RCD10421), It's Alright (I See Rainbows) (Ryko RCD10422) and Starpeace (Ryko RCD10423).
1999
A Eurostar cross-Channel train custom-designed with artwork from the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" album left London's Waterloo Station at 11:57 a.m. GMT for Paris to promote the September 14 release of the album.
2012
During a ceremony in Paris, French President François Hollande decorated McCartney with the Légion d'Honneur, with a rank of officer, for his services to music.
2013
In Los Angeles, the exhibition "The Early Beatles Collection," featuring images taken by Astrid Kirchherr, runs at the Leica Gallery. Images include pictures taken during the filming of "A Hard Day's Night" in 1964 for Stern Magazine, as well as some of the images she took of the musicians during their Hamburg, Germany, period in 1960.
The exhibit Linda McCartney retrospective is displayed at the Kunst Haus Wien in Vienna, Austria. The new exhibition is the first comprehensive retrospective of Linda McCartney’s work featuring 190 of her iconic photographs.
