The Beatles began their first headlining tour in Scotland appearing at the Two Red Shoes Ballroom, Elgin, Morayshire.

"Beatles Christmas Show", at the Astoria Cinema, Finsbury Park, London.

"The Jack Paar Show" transmits a fragment of a Beatles' concert at the Winters Garden, Bournemouth. It includes "She Loves You". 1st important exposure of the Beatles in American television.

1968
"Hello, Goodbye" number 1, 5th week (UK Record Retailer).

30,000 copies of Two Virgins are confiscated in New Jersey, on a judge's order, accused of the pornographic cover.

1970
Abbey Road number 1, 13th week (UK Record Retailer).

Studio 2. 2:30pm-12:15am. Recording: "I Me Mine" (takes 1-16). Producer: George Martin; Engineer: Phil McDonald; 2nd Engineer: Richard Langham. Last song recorded by the Beatles.

Mal Evans dies in Los Angeles, in an unfortunate incident. In a drunken stupor, he had become uncontrollably violent. The recent divorce procedings of his marriage may have contributed to his mental state. The Los Angeles Police shoots him in self defense.

1977
In Los Angeles, an exhibition of Linda's photographs is on display at the Jan Baum and Iris Silverman Gallery.

1978
Start of sessions for London Town at Abbey Road Studios (second period).

1981
The ITV network airs the presentation of highlights from the Kampuchea concerts, entitled "Rock For Kampuchea".

1983
BBC1 shows a documentary called "Beatlemania", which takes a look at the past and present Beatles fans.

Due to the Gulf War, Yoko, Sean and Lenny Kravitz update John's song "Give Peace A Chance" with twenty other recording artists.

The ITV network broadcasts the documentary "The Story Of Abbey Road", a program that looked into the conception and history of the now-famous recording studio. Among the interviews for this show are with Paul, George Martin and Pink Floyd, it also featured former Beatle Pete Best, returning to the studio for the first time in 34 years.

Two bronze busts worth £50,000 were stolen from a garden at George Harrison's estate in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. Thieves had climbed a 10-foot wall and cut the figures of two monks from their stone plinths.

Flaming Pie is nominated for "Best Album of 1997", eventually losing to Bob Dylan's Time Out Of Mind.

A spokesman for Paul McCartney announced the former Beatles had donated more than $2 million to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and the Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson. McCartney's late wife, Linda, had received treatment at both places for the breast cancer that took her life in 1998.
