As a present for John's 36th birthday, Ringo sends Cherry Vanilla to the Dakota, where she delivers her own special version of "Romeo & Juliet".

1979
John and Sean's birthdays are celebrated at the restaurant Tavern on the Green, Central Park, New York.
1980
In New York's sky, planes write congratulatory words for John and Sean, for their birthday.
1981
In Los Angeles, a seven-foot bronze statue of John is unveiled outside City Hall. Yoko declares today as International World Peace Day.
1982
Paul's brother Mike appears as a special guest on the BBC1 Saturday morning children's show "Saturday Superstore".
1984
In the UK, Ringo appears on the TV AM show "Good Morning Britain", promoting "Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends".
Yoko donates $90,000 to the Strawberry Fields Salvation Army home in Liverpool.

In the US, the CBS program "Entertainment Tonight" features a profile on the Beatles' BBC radio recordings. The show closes with the "I Am The Walrus" sequence.

Paul performs in concert at Palais Omnisport De Bercy, Paris, France ("Get Back Tour").
1990
On what would have been John's 50th birthday, a special broadcast of John's "Imagine" is played simultaneously by approximately 1,000 radio stations in 50 countries around the world.
1993
Paul performs in concert at Ahoy Sportpaleis, Rotterdam, Holland ("The New World Tour").
1998
In the US, to honor John's 58th birthday, VH-1 broadcasts the world premiere video featuring an alternative recording of the song "Working Class Hero".
2000
John Lennon's views on everything from the breakup of the Beatles to his attitude toward revolution and drugs, deemed too controversial to print 30 years before, are revealed in a the book "Lennon Remembers: The Complete Rolling Stone Interviews".
On what would have been John's 60th birthday, the John Lennon Museum opens to the public. Braving heavy rains, about 1,200 people line up around the museum, located about 30 kilometers north of Tokyo, between 7:00-11:00am, when the museum opens its doors.
