Twiggy and Linda Thorson were two of the leading figures in bright young new generation of sixties women who dragged stuffy old post-war England into the modern world.
Twiggy was the first "Supermodel" while Thorson succeeded Diana Rigg on "The Avengers", both as famous a part of the swinging sixties scene as the Beatles or the Stones or David Bailey. Twiggy was the definitive female face of the sixties because of her slight physical look, she was enormous in Japan where her single "Beautiful Dreams" (included on this compilation) was a number one hit in 1966. "The Avengers" was the most popular spy style TV series of the decade and Linda Thorson co-stars alongside John Steed throughout season six (thirty-three episodes). Like Twiggy, Linda Thorson was a revolutionary who helped change the public's perception of the ideal woman. During a decade of profound social change, their stylish attitudes and strength redefined femininity. in 1968, and in the midst of a busy filming schedule Linda somehow made time to create these soulful recordings for Ember under the auspices of Kenny Lynch.
