Уважаемый, Вы ставите меня в тупик своими заявлениями, особенно последним. Откуда Вам знать, о чём было бы моё следующее сообщение? Мне, признаться, и самому это толком не известно. Скажу больше - оно могло быть о чём угодно, но только не об этом, поскольку я считаю, что всякий труд должен быть вознаграждён, а тем более такой обширный, как у Голдмана.
Я его не оправдываю, а лишь пытаюсь разобраться в мотивах, которые им двигали.

да вот логично было предположить, что к перечню его положительных качеств вы пренепременно прибавите и это.
кое что ещё - некоторым личным качествам и званиям г. голдмана приписывают как раз отказ ЙО судиться с ним. поэтому, в одном вы слегка угадали - личного там мало...

Из Вашего последнего на данный момент сообщения я сделал вывод, что Голдман работал за идею. Не скажу, что я удивлён, но до сих пор приходилось слышать только такое мнение, что Голдман таким образом хотел заработать себе славу Герострата, которое культивируется на протяжении уже 15 страниц темы непримиримыми противниками уже даже не книги, а лично Голдмана.
Вот только причём здесь в таком случае альтруизм?
В общем, это риторический вопрос, так что можно оставить его без ответа...

[ open on a series of press publications regarding Albert Goldman's biography of John Lennon - cut to Goldman speaking to the press ]
Albert Goldman: And I'm telling you, it's all true.
Reporters: Mr. Goldman! Mr. Goldman!
First Reporter: What about the allegations that you lied?
Second Reporter: Many sources say you misquoted them.
Third Reporter: It almost seems like you had a personal grudge against John Lennon.
Albert Goldman: [ sarcastically ] Oh, alright.. I lied, print it. Albert Goldman is a liar! [ seriously ] I had to do it! Don't you understand! After what they did to me?
Reporters: What? Did what to you?
Albert Goldman: [ reminiscing ] It all started 25 years ago, back in Liverpool. [ screen ripples, prompting a flashback, but returns to normal ] It was a long time ago.. [ screen ripples again, but still goes nowhere ] Oh, concentrate harder, for goodness sake!
[ screen finally goes into a flashback, fading to black-and-white, outside a nightclub, with superimposed title: "The Cavern, Liverpool, 1963." Cut to inside the Cavern, where a young audience waits for the Beatles to arrive on stage. ]
Announcer: And now, ladies and gentleman, it's time for our next act. Please give them a big Cavern welcome: John, Paul, George, Albert Goldman and Ringo, the five Beatles!
[ The Beatles enter onto the stage amidst enthusiastic screams from onlookers ]

Albert Goldman: [ surprised ] Oh really, Mr. Layabout? Did you hear the same set that I heard? Audience not liking, Beatles dying!
John Lennon: I hate to say this, Albert, but.. you're out of the group.
Albert Goldman: [ crestfallen ] What?
John Lennon: Please don't be upset, it's hard enough as it is.

Красиво сказано, но меня совершенно не интересует лирика Голдмана, или что он говорит вне написанного о том, что он хотел сказать.

Меня интересуют только факты, приведённые им. Пока по большинству я не нашел ничего подтверждающего.

А Голдман и не говорит, что мать с Джоном не общалась. Он несколько иначе расставляет акценты, но берет их не с потолка же. Я уже говорила, у меня нет никакого желания перепроверять те 1200 или сколько там интервью, которые брал Голдман, и опровергать все его источники. Пусть этим занимаются те, кто обвиняет его во лжи. Но ведь у нас здесь его больше ругают не за вранье, а за "перемывание грязного белья" как такового.

И вот на эту тему, Боб, а также о том, что он "хотел сказать", - вышеприведенная ссылочка. А лирику я процитировала именно как иллюстрацию того, что он "хотел" сказать. Желая очернить, такого говорить не будешь.

Кстати, то, как Голдман описывает положение Джона после второго брака его матери и его отношения с отчимом, вполне соответствует Вашей цитате. Специально уточнила: стр. 57-59 ЖЗЛ-овского издания.

Я ничего подобного не говорил. Я хочу лишь увидеть доказательства фактов Голдмана из других источников. Кроме этот fucking shit Goldman я ничего не видел:-))

Мне совершенно всё равно, как воспринимается эта книга другими, на это есть (или нет) их собственная мораль. Меня мало пачкает грязь, которую вытащил Голдман. Мне просто очень интересно получить этому доказательства. Но их нет.
