Rush's new album, Snakes & Arrows Live, is set for release just over a month from now (April 8th). The first single off the album, "Working Them Angels", will be officially released to radio stations March 10th. Radio stations across America have already received the promo copy, however, and it has been receiving airplay in many markets. The promo includes three versions of the song; the radio-edit album version (4:19), the live version (5:03) and the full album version (4:55). If you haven't heard it in your area, you can download it from iTunes.

Обажаю эту группу!И последний альбом клевый!

Смешно получилось при выборе критиков в журнале Classic Rock. Первое место, среди альбомов, получила неизданная до сих пор дерьмократия G'n'R. Второе у последнего альбома Rush :)) Получается, что он № 1 и есть.
Диск действительно отличный, а то я уж испугался за их уровень, когда вышел Стирая следы.

Тогда приятно, что их новый альбом лидирует!! Это про какой альбом ты испугался, случайно не про Vapor Trails??;*) Не знаю, а меня он сразу цепанул!!! Люблю я жесткач!!!))) А новый не сразу понял, только недавно просёк всю фишку!!)) Я люблю этих ребят за то, что каждая пластинка у них настолько разноплановая!!! Этим они и доказали со своей новой работой!!!

Герои South Park - тоже фанаты RUSH!!!!))))

На самом деле, как написано в предварительном обзоре грядущего концертного релиза: "SNAKES AND ARROWS TOUR", на аудио и DVD, это будет небольшим интро к песне Tom Sawyer!!!)))))

А вот ещё небольшие пояснения к интро:
There is a South Park video intro to Tom Sawyer; during the video, the South Park characters begin playing Tom Sawyer but Cartman sings the wrong lyrics, "...floated down the river on a raft with a black guy", which leads to an argument with Cartman saying he's read the book and that's how the story goes, but the other quickly corrects him saying "that's Huckleberry Finn, stupid!". Cartman then says "I am Geddy Lee! And I will sing whatever lyrics I want!". They then start again to count off the beginning where Rush takes over and plays.

New Rush Cover by the Michael Schenker Group

Last month the Michael Schenker Group released a covers album titled Doctor, Doctor: The Kulick Sessions. Included on the album is a cover of "Finding My Way", the opening track off Rush's debut album. Performing vocals on this and more of the album's tracks is ex-Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach; this is Bach's fourth Rush cover on record - he has performed Rush covers both as a member of Skid Row as well as on the Working Man and Subdivisions tribute albums.

В минувшую субботу, Гедди ли и Алекс Лайфсон - стали неожиданными гостями на проходившем в Канаде, в Air Canada Centre, концерте группы Foo Fighters!!!! Они появились на сцене, когда солировал барабанщик Foo Fighters - Тэйлор Хоккинс!!! В таком составе был исполнен инструментал YYZ, из легендарного альбома RUSH 1981 года - Moving Pictures!!!!

"How to best sum up the Foo Fighters show on Saturday night at the Air Canada Centre? What a Rush! Literally. Rush singer-bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson surprised the crowd by showing up about an hour into the Foos’ two-hour-and-10-minute performance to play with drummer Taylor Hawkins during his drum solo and the three musicans then played the Rush instrumental YYZ. Let's just say the appearance by the Toronto prog-rockers injected some much needed energy and excitement into the proceedings and Hawkins even had a hug for Lee afterwards. 'Rush! Rush!' screamed Foos leader Dave Grohl in amazement as the two musicians walked off stage...'You've got nuts the size of grapefruits,' said Grohl to Hawkins after he played with Lee and Lifeson..." - Jam! In a new interview with Billboard.com, Alex Lifeson discusses the new tour setlist, the DVD, and the next Rush studio album.

"Rush fans can expect some different songs and 'surprises' when the Canadian trio hits the road on April 11 - but guitarist Alex Lifeson says, 'I'm gonna keep those a secret until then, I think.' Lifeson tells Billboard.com that since the next segment of Rush's Snakes & Arrows World Tour - which kicks off in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and runs through July 20 - visits a number of cities the group hasn't played in quite some time, 'we thought we should maybe revisit some older songs we're not playing currently or haven't been in the last little while. So we changed out a few songs in the set. We're gonna keep it loose and maybe kind of bounce back and forth.'"

In regards to the new DVD, Lifeson says "'The group decided to put the CD out first', he says, because 'we wanted to kind of bridge the two halves of the tour with a release so there's something there, and then we'll follow up with the live DVD.'"

In regards to timing of the next studio album, Lifeson says "I'm guessing that we're probably going to take a little bit of the break at the end of this tour...I don't see us really doing much in the way of any new material probably until the spring of next year, and then we'll see where we go. We generally prefer to just start on that first day and sit down and start jamming; it's such an exciting moment, and it becomes it's own living thing. We seem to be much more balanced and a lot happier working that way." - April 1, 2008

Geddy Lee will appear on the new Barenaked Ladies' children's album, Snacktime, set for release May 6th. Snacktime is composed of 24 tracks; the title track includes guest appearances from multiple celebrities including Geddy Lee, Lyle Lovett, Jason Priestley, Sarah McLachlan, Gordon Lightfoot and more. The album is currently only available through the official BNL store.

Inside Rush: Snakes & Arrows Live' Radio Special To Air Next Week
"FMQB Productions will release a one-hour radio special titled Inside Rush: Snakes & Arrows Live featuring an interview with RUSH bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson. It is due to air on select stations between April 11 and April 15. Hosted by Lou Brutus, Inside Rush: Snakes & Arrows Live will also feature the music of RUSH in concert from the upcoming Snakes & Arrows Live release. Итак, началась вторая часть тура SNAKES & ARROWS TOUR, которая охватит Соединённые Штаты. Как и было объявлено чуть раньше, RUSH внесли небольшие изменения в текущем сэт-листе.

There have been no changes in the setlist since the beginning of the second leg. The setlist (so far) is similar to that of the first leg, with four changes: 1) "Ghost Of A Chance" replaced "Entre Nous"; "Red Barchetta" replaced "Secret Touch"; "The Trees" replaced "Circumstances"; and "2112 Overture/Temples Of Syrinx" replaced the first leg alternating songs, "Summertime Blues"/"Distant Early Warning", although the "2112 medley" follows "The Spirit Of Radio" rather than preceding it. The second set of the show begins with an all new video titled "What's That Smell", which includes all the band members, as well as Barbie Dolls, chickens, and the return of both Harry Satchel (aka Geddy Lee in Scotsman garb) and Jerry Stiller. Unfortunately, this video replaces Alex Lifeson's "Plane of Dharma" video; all other videos from the first leg remain.

John Rutsey, Dead At 55
Rush's founding drummer John Rutsey passed away on May 11, 2008. Apparently John passed away peacefully in his sleep from an apparent heart attack brought on by complications from diabetes.

"John Rutsey, a founding member of Toronto rock band Rush, passed away this weekend according to Rush management company Anthem Entertainment. He was 55. Rutsey was famous for playing on Rush’s 1974 debut album...before deciding to leave the group due to health concerns. Rutsey suffered from diabetes and was unable to go on extended tours with the group. Rutsey was replaced by drummer Neil Peart, which marked a turning point in the band’s sound towards progressive rock. Rush formed in 1968 in Toronto and was originally composed of guitarist Alex Lifeson, bassist Jeff Jones (who shortly thereafter was replaced by Geddy Lee) and Rutsey...." - Toronto's
