Помнится, у моего приятеля продались пара-тройка картин. Он по этому поводу дико радовался, как сейчас помню - пили водку и слушали элтоновский диско-альбом Fox. Так что можно сказать: "Элтон Джон тоже неплохо!!!"

Педераст, а значит слуга сатаны и враг рода человечьего, как и все педики. Но песня Blue eyes мне нравится. Довольно талантливо.

И достаточно много еще таких же талантливых. Составленный мною самостоятельно Greatest Hits занял 5 CD по 80 минут.

Гомиков презираю. Тем не менее, "Don't shoot me... " считаю одним из лучших альбомов "всех времён и народов".

Читаю сейчас наш вариант книги Rocket Man, неплохо, но слишком мало отведено места музыкантам с которыми или которые принимали участие в альбомах Элтона.

2Lemon Lennon: а где достать такую книжку?

Во всех книжных магазинах продается.

Я эту книгу купил на Горбушке в конце ноября. Там на втором этаже есть точка с печатной продукцией. Кажется, всего за 150 рублей. Или за 250? Не помню.
Впрочем, судя по тому, что даже в нашем книжном магазине есть это издание, тираж немаленький.
В принципе неплохо. Очень подробно, скажем, описаны сессии с Джоном, и "тот самый концерт".
Минусы.
Первое.Дискография очень полная. Но нет списка музыкантов по альбомам, нет обложек.
Я этот несчастный кредит-лист (желательно попесенный) искать замучился в интернете - вдург, кто поможет.
Второе. Нет даже упоминания о том, что Элтон Джон участвовал в записи "9-го облака" Джорджа. Жаль.
И чем ближе к концу, тем отчетливее чувствуется некая скороговорка автора.

Sir Elton wants to 'marry' his partner

Music legend Sir Elton John has said he would like to 'marry' his lover David Furnish.

Sir Elton said he looked forward to the day when same-sex civil partnerships became lawfully recognised in Britain.

"I'm totally for it. In this day and age, if people who want to make a life commitment can't have protection, then we live in a pretty sick world," he told the New York Daily News. "I would like to commit myself to David. I already have in my mind anyway."

Sir Elton was married before; he went down the aisle with Renate Blauel in Australia in 1984, but the marriage only lasted four years.

Sir Elton, 56, and Furnish, 40, have been together for 11 years. The pair are also business partners.

On Valentine's Day, the pop star had giant inflated roses released into the sky above Las Vegas as a sign of his love for Canadian-born Furnish.

A Civil Partnerships Bill is currently passing through Parliament, which will give gay couples greater rights and protections.

Many same-sex couples currently do not get the same protection as married couples, in areas such as inheritance, pensions and benefits.

The bill was included in the last Queen's speech.

Sir Elton said: "We're definitely going to do it when it gets passed."

Sting, James Taylor play cinema classics at benefit

A-list starpower was combined with a passel of familiar pop standards in "Singin' in the Rainforest, featuring Great Songs from the Movies," a glossy Carnegie Hall revue to benefit the Rainforest Foundation. The spectacle of familiar voices tackling an assortment of beloved standards was the main musical draw, with a few surprises along the way.

The show opened with Billy Joel, Elton John, Sting and James Taylor, decked out as dark-suited hipsters, trading verses on "That's Amore," accompanied by orchestra and vocal chorus. The four then traded off on individual numbers, with Joel adopting a campy Sinatra stance to deliver "I've Got You Under My Skin," Taylor manifesting playful self-effacement on "Pennies from Heaven" and John donning a plastic beak and cavorting with a pair of nubile dancers on a spry "Woody Woodpecker Song." Sting -- whose wife, Rainforest Foundation founder Trudie Styler, produced the event -- took a relatively low-key approach on "Moon River" and "True Love." For the latter, he was joined by India.Arie, whose solo rendition of "The Long and Winding Road" was presumably justified by the song's inclusion in the Beatles documentary Let It Be and the Bee Gees/Peter Frampton debacle Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Big screen heartthrob Antonio Banderas served as co-host with wife Melanie Griffith, and delivered an unexpected highlight when he took the mike for an appropriately swoony reading of "Mona Lisa." But it was Bette Midler who decisively ratcheted up the energy level, delivering abundant charisma and humor on commanding renditions of "Lullaby of Broadway" and "Singin' in the Rain." Cult jazz balladeer Jimmy Scott ended the show's first half with a haunting "Over the Rainbow."

The show's second half concentrated largely on rock-era material, with much of the orchestra supplanted by an electric band, including Narada Michael Walden (who served as co-musical director with Hal Willner) on drums. Potty-mouthed puppet pooch Triumph the Insult Comic Dog traded barbs with Sting, before the two joined forces for a cross-species duet of The Jungle Book's "I Wanna Be Like You (The Monkey Song)." Sting and Joel donned acoustic guitars for a sing-along Beatles medley, and Joel delivered Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die" with appropriate bombast, while John dipped into the Elvis Presley songbook with a sincere "Loving You."

Jimmy Scott returned for a spellbinding "Someone to Watch Over Me," which gave way to Taylor's good-natured stab at "The Twist," which featured some surprisingly agile dance moves from Elton, Sting and Banderas. Things grew even stranger when Michael J. Fox donned an electric guitar to lead much of the all-star cast in a loose but good-natured "Johnny B. Goode."

Although much of the program's appeal was in the one-shot match-ups of singers and songs, the evening's most ecstatic ovations arrived when the artists performed tunes with which they're closely associated. John's flamboyant version of the Who's "Pinball Wizard" -- which he performed in the 1975 film adaptation of Tommy -- and Midler's movie-spawned smashes "The Rose" and "Wind Beneath My Wings" were the night's show stoppers.

Elton Going Symphonic At Radio City

For the first time in North America, Elton John will perform with a full symphony orchestra during a five-night stint at New York's Radio City Music Hall. The shows will be held July 13-14 and 16-18 and find John performing with an orchestra and choir consisting of students from London's Royal Academy of Music and New York's Juilliard School.

Bravo will record the event -- which will mark the first time John has headlined at Radio City as a solo performer -- for broadcast later this year on a date to be announced. A network spokesperson says it is undetermined if the TV special will feature one concert or highlights from several.

Tickets for the shows go on sale Monday (May 3) via Ticketmaster. Proceeds from the July 13 date will go to the Elton John Musical Scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music and a scholarship fund at Juilliard. John is an alumnus of the Royal Academy of Music.

"My time there was absolutely valuable to my career," he said today. "I learned the rudiments of music. I sang in the choir, which was a joyous experience. And I made a lot of friends who [later worked on] my records. The two academies [the Royal Academy of Music and Juilliard] are intertwined so it'll be a meeting of two great nations on stage. I like working with young people because they have no fear and no barriers. Their enthusiasm is infectious, and I like being around that."

John previously performed full symphony orchestra concerts in 1986 in Melbourne with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and in London in 2002 with the members of the Royal Academy of Music. The former pairing was released as a 1987 album, "Live in Australia With the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra." James Newton Howard, who conducted both prior symphonic concerts, will also conduct the Radio City performances.

John as at work on his next studio album, due later this year via Universal.

Elton heading for Peachtree Road

Sir Elton John is set to release a new album - Peachtree Road - in November.

Recorded in Atlanta, Georgia, where Elton has a home, tracks include Turn the Lights Out When You Leave and Freaks In Love.

Elton previewed the album - his 28th studio album - this week at a London recording studio to representatives from his record company Rocket-Universal Records.

His last studio album, 2001's Songs From The West Coast, spawned the hit singles I Want Love and This Train Don't Stop There Anymore.

Elton Walks "Peachtree Road"

November release planned for new studio album

Elton John's announcement to an audience in the fall of 2001 that his Songs From the West Coast would be a swan song has proven false. Admittedly, John said weeks later on a radio show that he was "just having a bad day," and he has proven good for at least one more record. Peachtree Road, John's twenty-eighth studio set, will be released in November.
The album's title reflects the locale where the set was recorded, in Atlanta, Georgia, where John has a home. According to John's Web site, "Freaks in Love" and "Turn the Lights Out When You Leave" are among the songs tipped for inclusion. John recently previewed Peachtree Road for his label and management team in London.

Peachtree follows one of John's most successful albums in years. West Coast earned platinum certification behind a pair of hit singles, "I Wan't Love" and "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore."

In other Elton news, John has lined up a five-night stand at New York City's Radio City Music Hall, where he will perform backed by a full symphony orchestra for the first time in the U.S. John, his band and the orchestra (conducted by James Newton Howard) will be joined by a choir consisting of students from London's Royal Academy of Music and New York's the Juilliard School. Proceeds from the first show, July 13th, will go towards the Elton John Musical Scholarship at the Royal Academy as well as a scholarship fund at Juilliard.

John himself was a scholarship student at the former. "The solid classical training was key to my success," he said. "I'm thrilled to perform orchestral versions of my songs with these wonderful, talented young musicians." Shows are also planned for July 14th, 16th, 17th and 18th. Film crews plan to shoot the concerts for a television special to air on Bravo later this year.
