1987
"Let It Be" by Ferry Aid number 1 (UK Record Retailer). Ferry Aid was a ensemble group, brought together to record the song. The single was released following the Zeebrugge Disaster, which had occurred on March 6, 1987 involving the capsizing of the MS Herald of Free Enterprise ferry, which killed 193 passengers and crew.
1988

1989
At the Ivor Novello Awards luncheon in London, Paul receives the "Outstanding Services to British Music accolade.
1995
Kenny Everett, who covered the Beatles' tours of the '60s and did the editing of the Beatles' fan club recordings in 1968 and 1969, dies in his sleep, suffering from an AIDS-releated illness.
2009
Paul and Ringo perform together at a charity concert in aid of The David Lynch Foundation, at Radio City Music Hall in New York. It is the first time the two have performed together since a George Harrison tribute show in 2002.
