The Beatles pose at the Victoria Monument on February 19, 1963 in Liverpool, England. The band had only just begun to gain chart success in the UK with the singles "Love Me Do" and "Please Please Me."
A MAGICAL Mystery Tour of photographs of The Beatles in Blackpool can be seen for the first time as part of a new exhibition in the resort.
The photographs were taken by an unknown photographer when The Beatles were recording an appearance at the ABC Theatre for television are part of the Showtown Exhibition. They are now on display in the Olympia Balcony of the Winter Gardens as part of the Shazam! festival of circus, magic and new variety.
"We don't know who took them and the owner of the material wants to remain anonymous," said Prof Vanessa Toulmin, director of the National Fairground Archive and curator of Admission All Classes, who has compiled the Showtown Exhibition.
"Basically they were purchased from someone in Blackpool many years ago, but we have no details of the photographer at all. It's a mystery – I did check with various sources but alas in vain.
"Now I'm hoping the photographs – which have never been on public display before will jog someone's memory."
Liverpool's Fab Four had strong links with Blackpool and played more than half a dozen gigs here at such venues as the Queen's Theatre and ABC.
During their Blackpool Night Out gig in August 1965, at the ABC, they played the song Yesterday for the first time on British TV.
The gig – which also features such favourites as I Feel Fine, Help! and I'm Down – featured on the Beatles' Anthology album and is an ever-popular download on web site YouTube.
The unseen Beatles pictures are part of a free exhibition which centres around 100 of the most iconic posters from Blackpool shows over the years.
The Showtown archive show posters feature many of the legions of international stars that have performed in Blackpool theatres – including Marlene Dietrich, The Stone Roses, Judy Garland, Bob Hope and Sammy Davis Jnr.
The exhibition runs throughout the Showzam! Festival, until February 24 and will be open from 11am to 4pm weekdays and 11am to 6pm at weekends.
Divided into five main sections, the 100 historical posters feature international stars, summer season shows, music and dance covering rock & roll, pop music and dance bands, comedians and shows that originated on television, radio and film.

Unseen Lennon photos to be shown in London in December
Proud Central presents Remember Love, a celebration of the life and career of John Lennon through work from a collaboration of world-class photographers, including previously unseen exclusive images. Opening this December to coincide with the 27th anniversary of his death, the exhibition examines the life of a man whose impact on the world of music remains unmatched.
Alongside iconic images from Dixie Dean, Terry O'Neill, Barry Plummer, David M. Spindel and Jurgen Vollmer, Remember Love is an exclusive opportunity to see work from Tom Hanley and Polly Moseley, photographers whose archives of intimate, personal images will be exhibited for the first time as part of this exhibition.
Tom Hanley worked alongside the Beatles throughout the 1960s, spending time with them behind closed doors as the rest of the world's press clamoured for their attention outside. From inside the hotel rooms of Paris and the offices of Apple music, Tom and his trusty camera experienced the highs and lows of Beatle Mania alongside the four boys from Liverpool at the very centre of it all. His pictures show John as a young man, experiencing the excitement of fame while struggling to write and record what would become some of the greatest songs of all time. As part of his collection, we are also proud to present images of John as a boy, given to Tom by John's aunt Mimi, an old friend of the photographer.
Images of John Lennon by Tom Hanley Polly Moseley met John and his wife Yoko Ono when she was a young film maker on Lennon's film 'Give Peace a Chance'. Her pictures capture the great contentment of John as an artist at work, as well as the private moments he shared with those around him whilst 'off duty'.
Together, these images create an intimate portrait of a legend, comprising personal shots alongside iconic images of Lennon and Yoko that are internationally recognised and renowned, making Remember Love a truly exciting exhibition and a rare chance to see John Lennon as he's never been seen before.
Tom Hanley said, "John was simply fun to be around. He was at his best when he went through the whole catalogue of Beatles songs with us and identified who wrote what. That was the first time it had ever been done, and when it came to Yesterday, he just said "Paul - wow, that was a good 'un'"
Polly Moseley said, "The group of technicians shown in the exhibition were all working with John for a short and intense period in a small editing complex. Nic Knowland was the film cameraman, Richard Key and Jack Reilly the joint editors with Mal Hawley and I assisting. The film's end titles were created by John and were filmed in the editing studio. All concerned realised what a unique experience we were sharing and wanted a record of the event. This was an exceptional opportunity for me as I happened to have my camera in the right place at a good time."
David M. Spindel will forever remember the first time he met John Lennon: "John was lying down getting a massage when I walked into a small room at the Hit Factory and John said, 'I usually charge people to watch me get my massage!'. I responded by saying, 'I usually charged people to watch me move my equipment!' We both had a great laugh and from this emerged the friendship and collection of magical photographs that is now available for the world to see."
REMEMBER LOVE: JOHN LENNON takes place on 7th December, 2007, through 02 March, 2008, at The Proud Galleries, 5 Buckingham Street, London, WC2N 6BP. Entry is free.

My mad day with Fab Four Oct 24 2007 by Catherine Jones, Liverpool Echo
A PHOTOGRAPHER who captured the Beatles’ “mad day out” on camera brings the images to Liverpool tomorrow.
Tom Murray spent a day messing around in London with the Fab Four in July 1968.
The band, who were recording the White Album, decided to stage a photo-shoot with a difference.
Murray, a Sunday Times photographer, was roped in by veteran war photographer Don McCullin, but had no idea who he was due to picture until he arrived.
He said: “We arrived at this old church which was a rehearsal studio.
“I walked in and there was Paul McCartney playing at the piano. George and Ringo were at one side drinking tea and in the other corner were John and Yoko.
"It really was a mad day rushing around London. We’d get half-an-hour, maybe 45 minutes at the most in any one place before too many people arrived.”
The 65-year-old photographed the Beatles on a small Nikon camera he still has today, but says no one paid him any attention.
Now a number of the 23 vivid colour images, which were stored unseen for three decades until 1998, are being brought to Liverpool.
While the originals are locked in a New York bank vault, people visiting Rennies art gallery in Bold Street tomorrow will have the chance to talk to Murray and buy limited edition giclée prints of eight of the originals.
Anyone interested in attending the evening, which runs from 6-9pm, should call 0151-708 0599.
John Lennon photograph uncovered By Duncan Hooper Last Updated: 8:42am BST 03/10/2007
Dressed in matching camelhair coats and sporting compulsory 1950s quiffs, the two young men walking down Liverpool's Lime Street in 1958 show little to set them apart from other fashion-conscious youngsters of their generation.
<-- John Lennon (right) and Quarrymen manager Nigel Walley
Certainly none of the passers-by eager to get on with their shopping seem to pay much attention to the pair.
But the 17-year old on the right is John Lennon, who had founded The Quarrymen band a year earlier. He is accompanied by the band's manager Nigel Walley.
The photograph, which had been locked away in a cupboard for almost 50 years, was uncovered by a BBC documentary team.
Mr Walley, who now lives in Clacton, Essex, had not seen the picture since 1958. He said: " It's very emotional for me seeing this photo again after all these years. John was a very good friend of mine.
"One thing I know John would have loved, was seeing this photograph. It's something I'll always treasure now."
"I haven't a clue what we were doing then - just a couple of lads out in town larking about probably."
The pair remained close friends after the Beatles found stardom and would get together to reminisce about their youth.
Mr Walley said: "I was only speaking to him a few days before he died. It was a great shock to hear he had been shot. We were making plans to see each other again."
Lennon founded The Quarrymen skiffle group in 1957 and named them after his school Quarrybank. He met Paul McCartney at a gig in the same year and the two went on to revolutionise popular music with the Beatles.
The photo emerged after an anonymous Beatles collector who bought the image at auction came forward. The BBC Inside Out North West programme which uncovered it will be screened tonight at 7:30pm on BBC 1.

Land Rover «
Land Rover.
Cantor Index.
Как заявляют представители Land Rover, что это только часть долгосрочного сотрудничества. Продолжение кампании появится в 2007 году.
