По поводу успешного исполнения не знаю... Дилан ее записал н апервом альбоме, но хитом в его исполнении песня не была.

кто знает, где достать саундтрек к фильму O, Lucky Man (by Lindsay Anderson; with Malcolm Mcdowell & songs by Alan Price) ???

Rock legend Eric Burdon may soon have a new career as a scriptwriter.

The Animals frontman is working on a screen play based on a portion of his recent autobiography.

"Some producers in LA read a chapter of my book and liked it a lot. They thought it would be a good movie" Burdon tells Undercover News.

Although sourced from Burdon's book, Eric says the plot won't be about him. "It is about the music industry. It is about how the industry is it's own worst enemy and how they turned their back on technology hoping the internet would go away".

Burdon knows the industry well. 'House of the Rising Sun' with The Animals was his first hit in 1964. He was a friend of late rockers John Lennon, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison and knows how the industry can rip of artists.

He is also amazed on how the music industry has now become big business. "When you sit down and sum up what it costs to see The Stones and Madonna now, its $300 for a ticket, you pay for your t-shirt, you drive there and park" he says. "It can be $1000 to see a band for a night. Gimme a break! I saw the Stones for 10 shillings. Let's not forget where rhythm and blues came from".

Burdon felt so strongly about where the music industry is today that he decided to release his new album My Secret Life through a small German distributor. The album is now available through-out the world including the USA and Australia.

THE ANIMALS' ERIC BURDON PLANS TO PERFORM IN AID OF KATRINA VICTIMS

The Animals' lead singer, Eric Burdon, says that he plans to perform a benefit concert in Maui sometime next month to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. Burdon, who'll be kicking off a series of dates next week, told the Palm Springs Desert Sun that he's also thinking about reforming with his long-estranged Animals co-founder Alan Price for a series of UK benefit shows.

Burdon explained that, "The South is truly an integral part of the culture of the United States and everybody should pitch in like they've just lost their favorite uncle or their mother or their father." So far, no date or venue has been lined up for the Hawaiian benefit.


Burdon says he was horrified at watching the images of Katrina's aftermath, noting, "You can see before your very eyes that America had turned into Africa over night. There is no difference between West Africa and the Southeast Gulf."

Eric Burdon & the Animals will be performing next on September 21st in Largo, Florida at the Largo Cultural Center.

Eric Burdon has a special link to New Orleans through the Animals' 1964 Number One hit "The House Of The Rising Sun" -- which was about a legendary New Orleans house of ill-repute. He explained to us how, according to legend, the women at the House Of Rising Sun were different than most other "women of the night" : "You realize that they were the cream of the crop, and they weren't just hookers -- they were there to read to them, if they were blind, they applied medicines, which they'd gotten from their mothers and fathers, who were African slaves. In other words, what we're looking for today, what a lot of people today are looking for -- alternative medicines."

у меня на родине есть виниловый сборник.
и на кассете "уингс оф ченчжь" (не знаю как по русски "ченчжь" написать)))).

я тоже их купил (винил) ради "хаус оф де расинг сан"
потом эту песню слушал реже всего. на этом сборнике есть песни по круче и по интереснее. названия к сожалению не помню.
были правда и 2-3 совсем скучных.
клево он блюзы поет. и гитарист был в команде прикольный.
я еще тогда не слышал хендрикса и вместе с Рай Кудером (на другом виниле) это был тот чью игру мне очень нравилось слушать.
имя его уже забыл или вроде там даже менялись гитаристы.
сейчас реально не помню.

посчет "уингс оф ченчжь". очень сильный альбом. довольно часто слушаю его. в нем они преиграли ролинг стоуновскую "пэйнт ит блак" (надеюсь не ошибся в названии). этот альбом мне переписали на кассету к сожалению без названий треков.
но для меня он лишь чуть послабее револьвера и резиновой души будет. особено нравятся 4 последних трека
