ну-с, все возвращается на круги своя. Новый альбом АББА ожидаем году к 2010... Пока Бенни возродится с первой группой, пока они с Бьерном не затеят новый совместный проект, постепенно вовлекут в это дело Фриду и Агнету... Только все будет происходить без брака.

Представьте, пожилые уже люди поют со сцены, например, Dancing Queen, "делают шоу"... Достаточно грустно. А вот собраться для студийной работы... Да что тут рассуждать, все равно они не воссоединятся!
Так что ждем альбом Агнеты ;-)

Jaroslavko: Если уж необходимо объяснять народу, кто такой Бьёрн Ульвеус (в чём лично я не уверен), то наверное "тот, который тощий с гитарой" - не лучший способ это сделать (равно, как и "тот, что на обезьяну похож"). А Бенни Андерссон, соответственно - тот, который толстый за пианино?

Честно говоря, я тоже не верю в их воссоединение (по крайней мере, на период больше 1-2 концертов), я просто грустно пошутил (смахивая скупую АББАфильскую слезу).

Я думаю, что всё возможно. Хотя бы один раз, хотя бы на одну песню, на один куплет, пока ещё все живы. Они же тоже понимают, что такое возможно будет не всегда, и тоже в глубине души тоскуют по старым временам, хотя бы потому, что были тогда молоды.
Я думаю, всё ещё будет.
Ведь даже Битлз воссоединились, пусть лишь на пару песен.

Abba release 1979 Wembley show on DVD

Abba's final concert film will be released on DVD on March 29.

Abba in Concert, shot at Wembley Arena on the Swedish band's final tour of Europe and North America, includes hits like Waterloo, Take A Chance On Me, Voulez Vous, Chiquitita, I Have A Dream, and Dancing Queen.

The concert, originally broadcast as a television special in 1980, features three new performances - The Way Old Friends Do, Thank You For The Music and the full performance of I Have A Dream.

The DVD also includes new interviews with director Urban Lasson, tour promoter and producer Thomas Johansson, a picture gallery and trailers.

Prince Charles To Honour Abba?

The four members of Abba may be together again in the same room with news out of Sweden that Prince Charles will honour them with a Lifetime Achievement Award in London on April 6.

Swedish newsite Aftonbladet report that all four members are expected to attend the ceremony although Agnetha is still to officially confirm.

The reunion is said to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of the first Abba album Waterloo.

April 6, 2004 is exactly 30 years to the day since Abba won the Eurovision Song Contest.

Although only two weeks out from the proposed event, the ceremony is being kept top secret. Prince Charles has not listed any formal events in his schedule for April 6 although the day before he will be in Gloucester to "mark the celebration of 100 Prince's Trust Teams held since His Royal Highness launched the programme in 1990".

Abba's official site likewise makes no mention of the Prince Charles ceremony although it does have news of the 30th Anniversary re-issue of the Waterloo album. "On April 6, 2004, it is exactly 30 years since ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest with their zestful performance of 'Waterloo'. To celebrate this anniversary, a Deluxe Edition of ABBA's original Waterloo album will be released" an announcement at the site reads. "This edition of the album extends the original LP to contain no less than five bonus tracks, including the Swedish, German and French versions of 'Waterloo'. Every different language version of 'Waterloo' is now available on one and the same disc".

There is also another anniversary coming up in the Abba camp. Benny's first band The Hep Stars is about to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of their first album. A double CD called Cadillac Madness - 40 Years 40 Hits *1964-2004 will be released in Sweden on March 31 to mark the occasion.

ABBA обвиняет латышей в плагиате

Компания Universal Music, представляющая авторов песен шведской группы ABBA Бенни Андерсона и Бьерна Улвеуса, обратилась в организацию по авторским правам Северных стран NCB: латвийскую шлягер-группу Kantoris 04 обвиняют в плагиате.

Шведы полагают, что песня Kantoris 04 "Tala meitene" подозрительно похожа на знаменитый хит "I do, I do, I do, I do, I do" в исполнении ABBA. Авторские права на "Tala meitene" зарегистрировал певец и автор песен Kantoris 04 Харийс Ионишканс.
Как уже сообщалось латышской прессой, это уже второй случай за последние пять лет, когда латвийские музыканты обвиняются в незаконном использовании песен ABBA.

Abba's Agnetha Goes Back Into Hiding

This week was to mark the return of Abba's Agnetha Faltskog after 18 years The Abba star has a new album and was ready to work …. but all that has changed.

Agnetha has pulled out of all upcoming media including a trip to London next week for an interview with Parkinson.

Her new album 'My Colouring Book' is her first new music in almost two decades. She funded the project completely herself, signed to Warner Music to release it and agreed to promote the project, starting this week.

Now she has changed her mind.

It is not surprising. The reclusive star has rarely been seen in public for years. In 1997, she was stalked by an ex-boyfriend. There potentially another stalker watching her and the very thought has made her cancel all of her upcoming plans.

That news has not been received well by label Warner Music who has poured a lot of money into marketing the new album and setting up the media campaign including the Parkinson interview.

The sudden change of plans also puts to rest the rumours of an Abba reunion next week in London to receive a lifetime achievement award on the 30th anniversary of their Eurovision song contest win.

The album My Colouring Book will be released later this month.

ABBA Says No Reunion, At Any Price

Nothing -- not even $2 billion -- could tempt ABBA back together again. After 30 years, the Swedish supergroup might even have trouble remembering the words of its pop classics. The sight of the group's outrageous stage outfits is enough to make its 58-year-old songwriter Bjorn Ulvaeus cringe nowadays.

Thirty years to the day after ABBA won the Eurovision song contest with "Waterloo," the bearded Ulvaeus is fiercely proud of its music -- but the group will never strut its stuff again. Four years ago, ABBA was offered $1 billion to reunite. The answer was 'No.' But what if that figure doubled? "No, not even if you did that," Ulvaeus said.

"It is never going to happen again," he continued. "I think it is a bit too long now. We split up in 1981. People haven't seen us as a group since then and it would come as such a disappointment to them."

As for the spangly jumpsuits, Ulvaeus said: "I haven't squeezed into them for years. I still had a couple of them in the wardrobe and would get into them on a Saturday evening -- but not any more. They are in a museum now." Today (April 6) marked another ABBA milestone -- the musical "Mamma Mia," which is based on their hit songs, celebrated five years playing to packed houses in London.

ABBA songs may be staple fare in karaoke bars around the world but songwriter Ulvaeus would need prompting. "I cannot remember a whole lyric of any that I have written," he confessed. "I am translating them into Swedish now for the first time because we are doing a production in Sweden at the beginning of next year. I find that I don't know them by heart -- not one of them."

ABBA once ranked alongside Volvo as Sweden's most famous export. The "Mamma Mia" show could prove even more profitable than the 350 million ABBA albums sold around the world. "It's possible," Ulvaeus said. "'Mamma Mia' is going to run for a longer time than ABBA did. So who knows? We will see."

With 11 productions running and six more in the pipeline, it has grossed over $750 million worldwide and has been seen by more than 10 million people. The musical weaves in ABBA music to tell the story of a single mother living on a Greek island with her daughter, who is getting married. Reading her mother's diary, she finds any one of her mother's three lovers could be her father. All get invited to the wedding.

Ulvaeus reckoned the timing was perfect. "I think the world perhaps was ready for something happy, a comedy. The big musicals in the '80s and the beginning of the '90s were rather somber -- like "Phantom of the Opera" and "Les Miserables" -- wonderful musicals but of a different kind."

The two couples who made up the group's acronym -- Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anni-Frid -- have long since divorced but all is sweetness and light between them now. "We do indeed stay in touch," he said. "I met Agnetha last week. We have a grandchild who is 3. We meet much more often these days than we did perhaps 10 years ago."
