US album release: Harder To Live (Dark Horse SP22006), by Splinter. Produced by George and Tom Scott, featuring the track "Lonely Man" by Mal Evans and appeared in the Apple film "Little Malcolm And His Struggle Against The Eunuchs".
At the Ashcroft Theatre in Croydon, the hit musical "John, Paul, George, Ringo... And Bert" opens with a different cast from its year-long London run.

New York premiere of the Warner Brothers documentary film "Imagine: John Lennon", with Yoko on hand. The event is featured heavily on US TV newscasts, including the CBS program "Entertainment Tonight" and NBC News.
In the US, NBC TV's morning show "Today" broadcasts part two of its feature on the film "Imagine: John Lennon".
At the NFT (National Film Theatre) in London, a celebration honoring Handmade Films. All of Handmade films are shown from "Monty Python's Meaning Of Life" to the current release, "Track 29".

Paul performs in concert at Festehalle, Frankfurt, West Germany ("Get Back Tour").

At Abbey Road's 65th anniversary party in London, Paul's brother Michael states that Linda is still going through chemo treatments in the US. Also attending the party is Sir George Martin.

In the UK, PNE Home Video releases an extended version of the MPL documentary "The World Tonight".
1998
A music industry poll published by London magazine "Time Out", naming the top stars from the past 30 years. Fifth place was Marvin Gaye, James Brown was fourth, Bob Marley came in third, the Beatles were second and first place went to David Bowie.
2013
In Los Angeles, the exhibition "The Early Beatles Collection," featuring images taken by Astrid Kirchherr, runs at the Leica Gallery.
The exhibit Linda McCartney retrospective is displayed at the Kunst Haus Wien in Vienna, Austria. The new exhibition is the first comprehensive retrospective of Linda McCartney’s work featuring 190 of her iconic photographs.
