In the UK music press, EMI Records state that, due to the success of Rock 'N' Roll Music, they plan to release further compilation albums of the Beatles.

Aging rock stars and session musicians would keep receiving royalties for their old recordings for the rest of their lives under a European Union plan. Performers currently lost the rights to their recordings after 50 years.

Gordon Waller, of Peter & Gordon, dies from a heart attack. He was 64.

The exhibit Linda McCartney retrospective is displayed at the Kunst Haus Wien in Vienna, Austria. The new exhibition is the first comprehensive retrospective of Linda McCartney’s work featuring 190 of her iconic photographs.
