The Beatles (minus Pete Best) with two members of Rory Storm's Hurricanes (Ringo Starr and Lou Walters) recorded a version of George Gershwin's "Summertime" in a Hamburg recording studio. The track was cut onto a 78-rpm disc and marked the first session that included John, Paul, George, and Ringo together.

The "Beatle City" exhibition runs at the West End marketplace in Dallas, Texas.

In the UK on BBC Radio Two, the third episode of the weekly series "The Beeb's Lost Beatles Tapes", essentially based on "The Beatles At The Beeb" collection, is transmitted.
In the US, Westwood One's "Star Trak Profile" series syndicates a special on George across various radio stations.
In the UK, Channel 4 broadcasts the Handmade film "Bullshot", beginning a brief series of Handmade films to be aired.
1990
UK album release: Ringo Starr And His All-Starr Band (EMI EMS 1375 [vinyl] and EMI CZ 353 [CD].
At 12:00 noon, Paul, Linda and a host of friends lead a march from the Rye Town Hall to Rye Memorial Hospital. The event, named "Rye's Day Of Action", is a campaign to save the hospital.
1991
In Japan, official details of George's upcoming tour are released.
1995
To help celebrate World Food Day, Linda arranges for her line of vegetarian food to be given away free to the homeless. Organized by PETA, it will center around the cafes in London's Farringdon area.

Cuban Beatles fans gathered in Havana for a three-day exhibit of Beatles music and movies.
1997
In Paris, Paul, Linda, Ringo and Barbara attends Stella McCartney's first catwalk show for the fashion house Chloe.
2012
Actor John Clive dies after a brief illness. He was 79. Clive did the voice of John Lennon in the Beatles' film "Yellow Submarine".
2013
In Los Angeles, the exhibition "The Early Beatles Collection," featuring images taken by Astrid Kirchherr, runs at the Leica Gallery. Images include pictures taken during the filming of "A Hard Day's Night" in 1964 for Stern Magazine, as well as some of the images she took of the musicians during their Hamburg, Germany, period in 1960.
2014
Paul performs in concert at Philips Arena, Atlanta, GA (2014 Out There World Tour).
Ringo & his All-Starr Band perform in concert at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center (2014 Tour).
