Вообще-то заголовок топика, попросту говоря, враньё.
Цитата о Буше и Битлз идёт от известного читателям книжек про Битлз Мартина Льюиса. Он сравнивал симпатию к Битлз между Джоном Керри, который встречался с Ленноном в 1972 году, и Бушем. Льюис, как видно из всего текста, не скрывает своей про-Керри позиции.

John Kerry Desperately Links Himself to John Lennon

WASHINGTON, DC — Sen. John Kerry is distributing flyers with a 32-year-old photo of him and dead Beatle, John Lennon, to woo anti-war voters in his political fight-to-the-death with former Vermont Governor, "mad dog" Howard Dean.
The flyers featuring the 1971 Lennon photo were distributed while Kerry was holding a press conference to say that Bush must "tell the truth" about Iraq. Kerry voted "yes" on the Iraq war last fall, but is now criticizing the war as he seeks to counter the anti-war appeal that has sent Dean surging towards the top of the field of Presidential contenders.
A spokesman for Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, said, "Ono " which roughly translates as "Ono-san is using the toilet right now."
The flyer shows Kerry, a Vietnam veteran, standing near Lennon at a 1971 anti-war rally, with Kerry clad in a leather bomber jacket. The flyer says, "Kerry straddled both sides of the Vietnam War by both fighting in it and protesting against it."
A Republican National Committee white male said that Kerry's use of the photo was "sickening." He added, "I knew John Lennon. John Lennon was a friend of mine. John Kerry is no John Lennon."

What does George Bush have on his iPod?

US President George Bush is the proud owner of an iPod - and when he's not invading Middle Eastern countries in pursuit of non-existent weapons, Dubya likes to put in his 'earbuds' and relax with a bit of Van the Man.
Bush's favourite song on his iPod is Van Morrison's Brown Eyed-Girl, while the rest of his digital archive reveals a leaning towards country music, with artists including George Jones, The Thrills and Joni Mitchell making it onto the wPod.
Credence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty also features as one of Bush's top of the pops, despite actively campaigning against the US head of state.

WINNIPEG - In the eyes of Alice Cooper, all the rock stars campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry are guilty of one thing: treason.
The shock-rocker, a staunch Republican who attends NBA games in Phoenix with Arizona Senator John McCain, was disgusted when he learned of plans by Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, R.E.M. and other bands to hold a series of concerts aimed at unseating U.S. President George W. Bush.
"To me, that's treason. I call it treason against rock 'n' roll, because rock is the antithesis of politics. Rock should never be in bed with politics," says the 56-year-old Cooper...
"If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are.
"Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Wall Street Journal."
Despite his strong insistence that rock has no place in politics, Cooper is one of a handful of high-profile musicians who've proclaimed support for Bush.
The list of pop-culture Republicans includes Britney Spears, Toby Keith and Ted Nugent, the latter an old buddy of Cooper from his early days in Detroit.
"Everyone thinks if you're in rock, you're a liberal, and that's absolutely not true. I know more people who are pro-Bush," he says. "Besides, when I read the list of people who are supporting Kerry, if I wasn't already a Bush supporter, I would have immediately switched. Linda Ronstadt? Don Henley? Geez, that's a good reason right there to vote for Bush."
What makes Cooper a Republican has nothing to do with money or taxes. The self-described hawk says he's more concerned with security issues, which won't disappear if there's a new guy sitting in the White House.
"In 1970, I'd go up on stage and cut my head off in a guillotine and that would shock people. It was very easy to shock people back then.
"Today, people are cutting people's heads off on television for real. I realized that when I couldn't be more shocking than CNN, shock was over."
Cooper still tours with an elaborate stage show, but his current focus is entirely musical. His latest album, The Eyes Of Alice Cooper, finds him returning to the stripped-down garage-rock favoured by the early Alice Cooper band, Nugent, the Stooges and MC5 in and around Detroit during the late '60s and early '70s.
Not surprisingly, the motivation for the nostalgia trip was provided by bands like the White Stripes and the Hives.
"I had just done three big-production, high-tech studio records in a row. But every time I heard a song on the radio that I liked, it was by a garage band -- a band trying to recreate the 1968 Detroit sound.
"The new sound is our old sound, so when I did The Eyes Of Alice Cooper, I wanted to go back to that era. I did 12 songs that could have been on Love It To Death, Killer or School's Out. I'm anti-tech now."
Cooper's favourite neo-garage band is Jet, an Australian band he admires because they don't sweat the small stuff.
"It really bugs me when new bands come out and go 'well, we're getting $1.31 per T-shirt and $1.16 per album.' Rock bands shouldn't know that.
"If you ask me right now how much I make per show, I wouldn't know that. In the 35 years I've been on the road, I've never known what I make for a rock concert.
"I have a manager I've had for 35 years. He sets up the shows, I do the shows and at the end of the tour, we all get paid a lot of money. I don't even know how much tickets are to my own shows."-

2 Bob Dylan. Ну, сравнили барбадос с самосвалом! Я НЕ фанатка Путина, но лицо у него умнее-это факт. Да и ума хватает не высказываться особо о своих неприязнях.

Я тоже свои пять копеек вставлю, где то читал, что Джон Мэйджор большой поклонник The Beatles.

Когда - то, я уже говорил о трёх типах людей, которые не любят Битлз

1) На генетическом уровне. Это клиника, и ничего тут не изменишь. И тем не менее, среди таких людей, могут попадаться талантливые, интересные музыканты. Просто вот вполне могут обойтись без влияния The Beatles.

2) Снобы, живущие в воздушных замках, построенных самими для себя, на основе чужих "стройматериалов". Богема – принципиальное меньшинство, для которых Битлз олицетворяет банальность, растиражированную - немеряно !

3) Это те, кому гораздо легче сказать - я не люблю (ненавижу) Битлз , чем признаться в том, что он просто не разбирается в музыке.

Буша я бы причислил к третьему пункту. Хотя, частично в нём есть и второй пункт (ковбойский шовинизм - разновидность конного снобизма )
