Living Loud : Living Loud - Last Chance

Living Loud features Jimmy Barnes, Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake, Steve Morse and Don Airey. The various list of bands these guys have been with includes Cold Chisel, Deep Purple, Ozzy Osbourne and Uriah Heep.

Over the next two weeks, Bob Daisley and Jimmy Barnes will tell us about the songs from their upcoming self-titled album.

Today we start with 'Last Chance'. "I have a book that I take with me when I am travelling" Jimmy says. "It has poetry, lyrics, comments etc. It is where I write everything down. When I was in L.A. recording Soul Deeper, (and I'm not a big fan of L.A.), a waiter gave me the shits. I went up to my room and wrote the lyrics. It was all about "look east, look west, look fast, look best, big dick, big arse, big lick". It was very derogatory. The band started playing and the rhythm reminded me of the lyrics so I went to my book and pulled it out. The song is about desperation. It is the Last Chance. L.A. is the epitome of that. Everyone parking cars wants to be a star".

The album features remakes of six classic Ozzy Osbourne songs written by Daisley and five new ones. "With the new songs, a lot of the lyrics came from Jimmy from stuff he had in a book" Bob says. "We took 15 days to record. There were no days off and no nights off and we got it all done. Anything that would save time was a major help. When Jimmy pulled out his lyrics and they would fit it was more time saving. They had to be good, we wouldn't accept anything. That song came along later".

Living Loud will be released on April 26 through Liberation Records.

Когда телешоу Осборнов было в зените популярности, на поверхность снова всплыла судебная тяжба, начатая Дейзли и Керслейком против Оззи в 2000 году. Басист и барабанщик заявляли, что им задолжали авторские за первые два сольных альбома Оззи “Blizzard of Oz” и “Diary of a Madman”. В отместку Оззи и Шэрон переиздали альбомы, заменив оригинальные дорожки с записями партий баса и ударных на партии, записанные музыкантами группы Оззи, которые играли у него тогда. В конце концов дело было прекращено по закону об исковой давности.
Между тем, альбом Living Loud выходит только в Австралии.

Living Loud : Living Loud - In The Name Of Love

Living Loud will release their debut album on April 26. Jimmy Barnes and Bob Daisley took time to tell us about each track from the album. Today we hear about the first single 'In The Name Of Love'.

"I wrote that in Ocala, Florida" Jimmy tells Undercover News. "It is about stupid white men after I was watching Bowling for Columbine. The whole George Bush going to war thing was happening. I have good friends who are Muslims. People are suffering. Taking it from either side of the argument, the people doing the killing are doing it in God's name whether they are terrorists killing for Allah or the Americans killing for their good Christian way or the Irish fighting each other because of religion. Religion in general pisses me off. So much bad had been done in name of God. I was writing about the people who suffer because of all this crap. Spirituality is not really about that".

The song came late in the sessions. "This was the very last song we did" adds Bob. "Jimmy and I and Lee (Kerslake) sat in a room and put it together. Jimmy had the name of the song "In The Name of God". I thought it was a great idea because it was philosophical and not so common boy/girl stuff. When I used to write lyrics for Ozzy I would write stuff that was unusual. It was chosen as the single because UNICEF showed interest to do a promotional film and it kind of represented what all of us think about the state of the world. When we were recording in July it wasn't long after the beginning of the invasion of Iraq. So many things are based on religion, and whether the Christians think they are right or the Moslems think they are right, no-one has a licence to go around killing other people because they have different beliefs. So many invasions of country's are in the name of God. How hypocritical is that?"

LIVING LOUD: CD And DVD To Be Released In Three Formats - July 12, 2004

LIVING LOUD, the new "supergroup" consisting of Bob Daisley (OZZY OSBOURNE, RAINBOW, URIAH HEEP) on bass, Steve Morse (DEEP PURPLE, KANSAS, DIXIE DREGS) on guitar, Don Airey (DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW) on keyboards, Lee Kerslake (URIAH HEEP, OZZY OSBOURNE) on drums and Jimmy Barnes (COLD CHISEL) on vocals, will have their CD and DVD released through EMI International in three formats: The original studio CD with two bonus live tracks ("Crazy Train" and "Good Times"), the DVD, or a DVD/CD double-pack titled "Loud & Live". The DVD will be available in PAL and NTSC formats, and will feature two bonus tracks not found on the CD ("Gimme Some Lovin'" and "Good Times"). Exact release dates have yet to be confirmed. In addition, negotiations are in place with iTunes to release a recording of the group's entire April 26 show in Sydney exclusively in the coming weeks.

LIVING LOUD's debut album was recorded in Florida at Greg Rikes studio with producer Darren Schneider, who has worked with DEEP PURPLE, MATCHBOX 20 and CREED. The keyboards were subsequently laid down and at AIR studios in London, where the entire affair was mixed. The album includes five new original songs written by Steve, Jimmy, Lee and Bob, along with several cover versions of various OZZY OSBOURNE classics.
