The Beatles: Classic, Rare and Unseen, an assortment of more than 100 snaps of the band that took the world by storm, will be on display in a two-month exhibition at the Mathew Street gallery this summer.
The exhibition, courtesy of music magazine Mojo, is currently running in London, but will move to Merseyside at the end of August.
But the latest pictorial offering contains pictures previously unseen and provides a fascinating insight into the Fab Four's formative years.
The photographs capture memorable on-stage moments from the 1960-1966 period and reveal the extent of a visual transformation in which gel-headed rockers in leather jackets developed into stars in suits with mop tops.
Among the locations prominent in the collection are the Top Ten club in Hamburg, where the band made its first steps towards international recognition; Liverpool's very own Cavern Club, the venue of almost 300 sell-out shows, and Candlestick Park in San Francisco, where thousands of screaming fans witnessed the Beatles' last ever live performance.
One features John Lennon in his family setting playfully posing for the camera with then-wife Cynthia and son Julian (right), while another shows him relaxing with his pet cat.
Phil Cappell, a Beatles tour guide and expert, said: "A collection like this is important to the Beatles' history and it is only right that the display is coming to the Fab Four's home.
