Премьера "Кристины" состоялась в 1995 году в Мальме, а в последующие 4 года были постановки в Стокгольме и Гётеборге. "Мамма Мия" появилась только в 1999 году, поэтому никакого "сapitalising on the massive success of Abba musical Mamma Mia" быть не могло. Была также концертная постановка сокращённой версии в Миннеаполисе в 1996 году, на которой я присутствовал.
Постановка именно в бродвейском театре ещё не решена. Я слышал по радио, что планируются тест-постановки в небродвейских театрах, и исходя из этого будет решена дальнейшая судьба мюзикла. Кстати, тест-постановки сейчас из-за дороговизны постановок и больших финановых потерь в случае возможного неуспеха всё больше распространены. Так, Сондхайм решил отменить постановку своего нового мюзикла на Бродвее после того, как пробная версия в Чикаго вызвала нарекания критиков и не очень хорошо посещалась.
Что касается "Кристины" надеюсь, что мюзикл будет успешным, хотя абсолютный провал бродвейской версии их "Шахмат" слишком хорошо ещё помнят: финансовые потери были огромные.
Музыка "Кристины" просто исключительно хороша, ещё в сочетании с драматизмом сюжета. Тревор Нанн, кстати, восторженно о ней не так давно отзывался.

Незаслуженно забытым оказался юбилей Бьерна Ульвеуса. 25 апреля ему стукнуло ровно 60!!!!!

The Complete Studio Recordings release date and tracklist

November 7 sees the release of the box set containing ABBA's complete studio-recorded output, plus two DVDs, one of which features a previously unavailable live concert

Polar Music International is proud to confirm the November 7th release of ABBA: THE COMPLETE STUDIO RECORDINGS. The box set will comprise 9 CDs & 2 DVDs, plus a full colour booklet with timeline and photos. A separate booklet will contain lyrics to all the songs contained in the box set. This will mark the first ever release of a complete ABBA studio recordings set since the band’s formation 33 years ago, and the first set to tell the ABBA story both through audio and video content.

The first eight CDs will include each of the band's studio albums, plus all non-album singles and B-sides, and versions in Spanish, German, French and Swedish. CD 9 will contain a selection of rarities, most of which were originally released after the band's heyday. Of particular interest to the ABBA collector should be the rare alternate mix of ‘Waterloo’, which has never been available on CD before. The extended mono version of ‘On And On And On’ – featuring an extra verse and previously only available as the soundtrack to the ‘On And On And On’ video – is also released on CD for the first time. The nine CDs comprise every single studio-recorded piece of music commercially released by the Swedish group (under the name ABBA and/or Bjцrn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid/Frida) on single, LP or CD, including alternate mixes. Edited versions and extended versions (that did not feature alternate mixes) have been excluded.

The lavishly packaged box set will also include 2 DVDs, featuring all the promo videos ever released by the band, THE HISTORY documentary which covers the overview of the ABBA story, and a previously unreleased concert, which was originally a part of the television special Dick Cavett Meets ABBA, a co-production between Polar Music International and Sveriges Television (SVT). Five of the performances from Dick Cavett will be included on the DVD. The original concert consisted of nine songs, but the remaining four performances are no longer to be found in the SVT archives.

ABBA: THE COMPLETE STUDIO RECORDINGS will be strictly limited edition - only available for a limited period of time and in limited numbers.

Universal Music will be releasing ABBA - The Movie globally on September 26, 2005.
The movie follows ABBA at the height of their career on a tour of Australia in March 1977 and remains one of the precious few opportunities to experience ABBA live on stage. ABBA - The Movie is now available for the first time on DVD.

Поразительно, как люди умеют заставить работать и работать на себя материал четвертьвековой давности. Такого количества переизданий одного и того же не упомню пока больше ни у кого :)))
Но ведь - покупают же! :)
А дигипаковый фильм, наверное, я и сам куплю...

Я уже проанализировал содержимое коробочки, и должен с неудовольствием заметить, что при всей полноте издания никаких аудионовинок для меня здесь нет. Видео действительно интересное, особенно интересует Dick Cavett шоу, но без ложки дегтя не обошлось: не нашлось места клипу "When I Kissed The Teacher"....
