The US Justice Department ordered John out of the country by September 10th. The Immigration and Naturalization Service denied him an extension of his non-immigrant visa because of his guilty plea in England to a 1968 drug possession charge.
1977
In London, with funding from Lorne Michaels of "Saturday Night Live", filming begins on the mockumentary of "The Rutles".
1980
In Bermuda, John poses for a painting intended to be a gift for Yoko.
1981

In London, to celebrate his first chart success in years, George pays the final balance of £149 on a pair of silk pajamas.
1983
Studio 2. Start of the show "The Beatles at Abbey Road", 3 times a day, while the upstairs control room is being equipped with a new recording console.
New York's Museum of Broadcasting showcase Beatles achieve clips documentary "The Beatles Early Days" and several other films from the museum's personal collection, including the "Ed Sullivan Show" appearances and excerpts from their Washington, D.C. concert on February 11, 1964.
1984
The "Art Of The Beatles" Exhibition, portraying 30 years of the group in the form of cartoons, paintings, photographs, album covers, lithographs and sculptures, continues.
1986
At Abbey Road Studios, Paul films the MPL/BBC produced TV special "McCartney".
In the US, Ringo appears with Scott Muni on the American Beatles syndicated radio show "Ticket To Ride".
At his Friar Park studios, George resumes work on the track "Zig Zag", for the soundtrack to the film "Shanghai Surprise".
Apple Corps, Ltd. issues a writ against Whitbread, for the marketing of the 12-track Beatles cassette "Only The Beatles..."
