Gibson переиздает гитары Леннона

К 70-летию со дня рождения Джона Леннона (John Lennon) компания Gibson выбросит на рынок новые коллекционные версии его гитар. Это будут три акустических инструмента, на которых Леннон играл в разные периоды своей жизни.

Первой в списке моделей числится Gibson J-160E, которую легендарному битлу помог купить Брайан Эпстайн (Brian Epstein) в 1962 году. С ней Леннон записал «Please Please Me», «With The Beatles» и «A Hard Day’s Night».

Другая модель - та самая гитара, которая звучит в композиции «Imagine». Она выполнена в нежно-белом цвете и была заказана лично Йоко Оно (Yoko Ono). Вдова музыканта считает, что эта гитара как нельзя лучше отражает «пацифистский» период творчества Джона.

Последним в этом ряду станет инструмент, разукрашенный знаменитыми скетчами «Джон и Йоко» и выставленный ныне в Зале славы рок-н-ролла в Кливленде. Именно эта гитара составила компанию Леннону и Оно на их знаменитой «лежачей» забастовке, которую они провели в 1969 году.

Все гитары собираются в Монтане, на фабрике, специализирующейся на выпуске акустических моделей Гибсон. Тираж инструментов будет строго ограничен: первая модель получит 500 копий, а две остальных появятся в количестве 70 штук каждая. Цена гитар составит от 4.5 до 15 тысяч долларов.

особенно если есть гарантия того самого замечательного звука!

Epiphone их делает давно. Судя по заявленной цене, Гибсон должен быть просто фантастичным. Хотя скорее всего, просто коллекционным.

В таком случае они обязаны снять тот Ленноновский звук, разложить его спектрально, и под заявленной маркой предъявлять лишь те экземпляры гитар, которые пройдут сравнение с образцом. И сертификат прилагать с картой конкретной гитары и образца!

Датчик на ней стоит действительно тот самый, из винтажных, и звучит очень похоже.
Но вряд ли Гибсон будет решать всякие заморочки - по цене это всё просто коллекция, и серты наштампуют, и прочее. Я не знаю, что это за гитарный звук такой за 15 тыс долл. Дорогущий Brubaker у меня был, стоил больше десятки, но чего либо фантастического я в нем не услышал.

Записывали недавно акустический Флайт недорогой очень, не подвёз товарищ дорогой Овейшн вовремя, а как подвёз, дописывали уже на нём...
В миксе разницы никто не заметил, решили не переписывать начало дубля...

1962 Gibson J-160E acoustic/electric, sunburst finish. Lennon and Harrison each bought one of these "jumbo" models (price: £161) in Rushworth's Music House in Liverpool on 10 September 1962. Mersey Beat, in the caption from its photo commemorating the event, noted the guitars were "the only ones of their type in the country -- which were specially flown to England by jet from America." These Gibsons were used on the 11 September recordings of "Love Me Do," but those tracks sound nearly identical to the earlier takes of those songs, which tends to confirm an earlier purchase date. Lennon's J-160 E was used through the Please, Please Me sessions, then stolen during the '63 Christmas show at the Finsbury Park Astoria Theatre, London. (Pity poor Malcolm Evans, who had to break the news to Lennon.) By this time, however, Lennon and Harrison had gotten their identical guitars mixed up, so it was the one registered to Harrison that disappeared.

Brian Epstein had to co-sign for this guitar, and wound up paying it off after a year. The photo, from November 1963, shows one of the last appearances of Lennon's first J-160E.

1964 Gibson J-160E; Serial #64309. Lennon bought this to replace the above guitar, even though he often used Harrison's for recording. It was first used in concert in Montreal on 8 September 1964 and served as a backup for the '65 world tours. Except for an extra rosette around the sound hole -- and a visible orange label inside -- it was identical to his first J-160E, but it wouldn't stay that way for long. He moved the pickup from the neck to the bottom of the sound hole, then in '67 commissioned Dutch artists Simon and Marijke Posthuma, a.k.a. The Fool, to give it a psychedelic paint job, to commemorate the "All You Need Is Love" satellite broadcast. It's seen in rehearsal shots of that event, but at air time he opted to just sing. Lennon later had it professionally stripped, replaced the pickguard and put the pickup back where it was originally. This guitar was last seen in action during the Bed-Ins, where Lennon scratched two caricatures of himself and Yoko on the front. Recently on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland, on loan from the Lennon Estate.

1962: 1962 Gibson J-160E; Serial #73161: This is really a tale of two guitars. Harrison bought an electrified "jumbo" acoustic on 10 September 1962, the same day Lennon bought one, at Rushworth and Dreaper's Music in Liverpool. (In photo at left, assistant manager James Rushworth poses with the lads.) Almost immediately they got the identical guitars mixed up, for the one Harrison had all those years since is registered to Lennon, who holds it in this photo. Lennon's (actually, George's) was stolen in December 1963 at the Finsbury Astoria Theatre in London during the Christmas show. So, after little more than a year, having been used in the studio (Please Please Me, With the Beatles) and on stage, this guitar disappeared into the London fog. But Harrison continued to use "Lennon's" jumbo through the Sgt. Pepper sessions.

Originally registered to Lennon, Harrison used this J-160E until he upgraded to a J-200.
