Роджер Гловер (басист Deep Purple): A huge part of my life just disappeared. Words are not enough, emotions are too much. My sincere condolences to Ronnie's family and friends.Роджер Гловер (басист Deep Purple): "A huge part of my life just disappeared. Words are not enough, emotions are too much. My sincere condolences to Ronnie's family and friends."

Боб Дэйсли (басист Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne, Gary Moore): "With the sad passing of my friend and colleague, the world has lost a great man. Not only was he a unique singer, musician and writer, he was a very special human being. Long live rock 'n' roll and long live the memory of the great Ronnie James Dio. He'll be sadly missed in many ways. Bless him."

Аксель Руди Пелл (немецкий гитарист Steeler и основатель Axel Rudi Pell): "Ronnie was and ever will be one of my heroes. I remember when he said, 'Axel, my son, let me hug you,' at the beginning of last year's Heaven & Hell German tour, where we'd been the special guests. It was such a great honor for us to open for them and we really enjoyed the tour. I met Ronnie a couple of times during the last ten years and he always was very friendly and nice to me, my wife and my band... Ronnie... thank you so much for all your music, lyrics, inspirations and friendship. You will live on forever in my heart and in my music. Someday we will meet in Heaven or Hell..."

Группа Royal Hunt (Дания): "[On Sunday, May 16] we lost an amazing man, a fantastic musician, a true legend — Ronnie James Dio. We offer our deepest condolences to his friends and family. Being huge fans of his talent, we've been privileged to meet Ronnie James Dio in person while supporting his band a few years ago… and will always remember him as a great artist and a kind, caring and bright person… a true gentleman."

Микаэль Поульсен (гитарист датской группы Volbeat): "I came off stage in Zagreb with the biggest smile on my face because I/ Volbeat had just been playing a great show with Metallica. My drummer Jon Larsen was the first guy in the dressing room after the show, and he looked at me with a very sad face and said: Michael, Dio is dead. And I went into a black empty hole in my mind. WHAT, FUUUUUUUUCK,' were my first words. Jon knew I was , and still am, a very big Dio fan. It almost felt like the heavy metal scene music died that second and everything will be over. Because WHO the hell's gonna take over the greatest voice of all time in heavy metal music history? HE WAS THE CHOSEN ONE, THE BEST, AND FOR REAL. For me Dio was the greatest songwriter and frontman a heavy rock band could wish for. He sang like he was 20 years old to the end, I was asking myself every time I saw him live, how the hell does he do that? Dio was the was the first heavy thing I was listening to. His work in Elf, Dio, Rainbow, Black Sabbath/Heaven & Hell truly inspired me and will do for the rest of my life. There was only one king of rock 'n' roll = Elvis Presley. And there was only one KING of heavy rock music = Ronnie James Dio. And there will be no one like him again, his throne will be empty. Dio will be missed forever. May you rest in peace, Ronnie. We will all proud keep the horns up and the Dio flag high. I wish you a good and safe journey. Follow the rainbow. With love and respect."

Classic Rock: "I met Ronnie only recently, and he told me of a song he'd written that he was keen to have me play guitar on. We never got beyond talking about the idea, but it was a serious plan. Ronnie was one of those great characters whom you thought would go on until he was 100. It seems very strange to think that we will no longer see him onstage, or hear any new songs. His death has left a huge gap that nobody else can hope to fill."

Джеймс Ривера (вокалист Helstar, Seven Witches, Flotsam And Jetsam, Vicious Rumors): "I am still in disbelief over what has just happened to my mentor, Ronnie James Dio. Unfortunately, I was in Europe when it took place. To be exact, I was in Slovenia and the ironic part of this, which is why I believe it was that much more painful for me, is that I had just performed in the city of Ljubljana the night prior with the European chapter of Sabbath Judas Sabbath [Rivera's Black Sabbath and Judas Priest cover band], showcasing many of the all-time favourite Sabbath tunes from the Dio era. Many fans in Slovenia and Greece (where we played prior to Slovenia) now really cherish those shows even more so. Ronnie was my 'wishing well.' He gave me the wisdom and power to become who I am and fulfill all of my dreams. My heart is severely broken and filled with a loneliness that I can hardly bear. I thought as the days have been passing that the misery would go away, but for now it just lingers. I can only patiently wait for another point of view to overcome this hurt. A point of view that the kiss of death has only taken him 'over the rainbow' where he is at peace. So now rest, great master of all metal voices. I will always love you and miss you eternally."

"As soon as I heard I heard he had been diagnosed with cancer, I sent him some encouragement. Having been through that situation myself with (my wife) Sharon when we were doing (the reality TV show) 'The Osbournes', it's always somebody over there. When it lands at your doorstep you're like, 'What do you do? How do you get round this?' When Sharon got (colon) cancer, I'd never known anyone who survived. I thought it was bullshit when they told you, 'They can survive.' I just thought they were trying to smooth me over. And she got over it."
Osbourne added that he ran into Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards show in early April and inquired about Dio's health.
"I didn't get a chance to see him but I was talking to the drummer Vinny, and I said, 'Did he get my message?' 'I don't know,' he said.' And I said, 'Well, tell him to keep up the fight.' Then on the weekend, we heard he had passed away, which is sad. He had a great voice. People thought that me and him were at war. At first, I suppose a bit of theatrics would be involved, but I mean it's been 30 years."

Нейл Тёрбин (фронтмен Deathriders и Anthrax): As a teenager, I got to witness the Black Sabbath and Blue Öyster Cult concert live at the Nassau Colosseum (actual concert they recorded the 'Black and Blue' film) in 1980. I was knocked back in my seat by the power of Ronnie James Dio's vocals and the the sound of Black Sabbath combined with the visual of giant crosses and flames lighting up the arena and explosive pyrotechnics echoing throughout! I did see the amazing KISS 'Alive II' tour at Madison Square Garden in 1978, but I had never witnessed anything as powerful and heavy as Ronnie Dio singing 'Heaven and Hell' in 1980. I even got to see 'Blizzard of Ozz' and meet Ozzy and the incredible Randy Rhoads in Def Leppard's dressing room when they were introducing themselves, but my first and most distinctive concert memory was the power and the fury that was emanating from Ronnie and Black Sabbath. I had always perked up when I heard Rainbow with Ronnie James Dio singing on the radio or at a friend's house. Ronnie James Dio's mighty soaring vocals stood out above any other vocalist period. As they say, good things come in small packages. In Ronnie's case, he had such a consistent super powerful voice with great tone, poise, stage persona, charisma and ultimate confidence. Through my association of working with Dio keyboardist Claude Schnell from 1996 to 1999 on his solo material/project, I had the opportunity to meet Ronnie James Dio for the first time at Vinny Appice's birthday party at a Mexican restaurant in Northridge, California. It was a dream come true and a great honor for me, that Ronnie was so personable and down to earth, but even went out of his way to buy me a drink when Claude told Ronnie that I was singing for him at the time. I later went with Claude to see DIO perform at the Galaxy Theater with Tracy G. I told Claude that nothing could top the DIO 'The Last in Line' tour concert I saw in Paris in 1984, except that 'Black and Blue' concert in 1980. I also told this to Vinny when we went to his house later that night after his birthday party. In 2004 I met Ronnie James Dio and Craig Goldy backstage at Scorpions/Whitesnake at Universal Ampitheater and Ronnie remembered me. Unlike the NAMM shows where Ronnie is always mobbed signing autographs and I never really had the chance to speak with him there. This time was different. I told Ronnie that I saw many of his great performances, including a show at the Greek Theatre when Anthrax was opening as I was walking in from the parking lot. I couldn't believe that the place was more than half empty for Anthrax and less than three-quarters full for a Dio concert, but that didn't matter, Dio still roared and commanded the stage. I told Ronnie that I was amazed by his stage presence and persona, not just his great voice. Then I asked Ronnie: 'What exactly are you thinking about when you are on that stage?' Ronnie looked at me straight in the eyes with pure tenacity and said to me, 'That's MY stage!!!!' I'll never forget that look that Ronnie gave me when he told me this and the honest talent and confidence that he possessed. Ronnie wasn't about ego; he was real people, with no B.S. I will always remember Ronnie not only for his soaring voice and his medievel lyrics and great visual imagery, but for his great spirit and honest persona. Ronnie was not afraid to tell it like it is, but he was a true gentleman and had great class. I was blessed with the opportunity to know Ronnie James Dio personally and he was a wonderful person, who was willing to be completely honest with me and share his knowledge and experience. For that I have a deep respect for him for the way he treated me. Ronnie James Dio was a true four-star general of rock royalty. Ronnie James Dio was to heavy metal what Elvis was to rock 'n' roll!!!! Ronnie James Dio is the king of heavy metal!!!! My sincere condolences and support to Wendy Dio, Rock Feinstein and to Ronnie's family and friends for your great loss. Ronnie, thank you for rocking hard 'till the end! Ронни Стиккс (вокалист Blood Redskies и Vicious Rumors): "It has taking me a few days to take in the death of my hero... When I heard he had cancer, I said to myself, 'he is going to beat this,' and when I heard he passed, I was crushed. When I heard the news of his passing on Sunday morning, I canceled a gig that I had booked that same night with my Black Sabbath/ Dio tribute Mob Rules. There are just no words any one can say to ease the pain of this loss. Ronnie James Dio took us on a journey deep with our minds and soul... with a voice of an angel that no else has ever done. And has given us the sign of things metal — 'the mighty metal horns.' Ronnie has now truly earned his wings of steel in heaven. There is only thing one can say about Ronnie Jame Dio — long live the king of rock 'n' roll. He will forever be our rainbow in the dark."

Чак Билли (вокалист Testament, Сан-Франциско): "Got word [Sunday] night coming off stage [in Holland] that Ronnie Dio passed and it's a great loss to the world. I love Ronnie a lot. From day one when I met Ronnie, he was so genuine; humble and the sweetest person in the world. Since day one until two weeks ago when I saw him. Genuine Ronnie first and foremost: 'How's the children? How's the family? How's the health?' That's one thing about Ronnie — it's never about the music, never about the business, just being a person, a human being. Just truly concerned with how the family was and our health. I am truly going to miss you, Ronnie. I love you. Rest in peace."

Джеймс «Манки» Шафер (гитарист KoЯn) дал интервью каналу Tim's TV: "Jonathan [Davis, KoЯn singer] and I were so bummed. He came to me in the bus the other day, and he was almost in tears. And I'm like, 'Dude, what's wrong?' And he was like, 'I've gotta tell you something. Ronnie James Dio died.' And I was like, 'What? Are you fucking kidding me? Wow.' What a tragic loss for the metal world. I think that he was actually my second concert that I [ever] saw in Bakersfield. We wouldn't have this [flashing devil's horns] without him. But the music that he left the world with, he'll always be alive in those recordings. I actually did have a chance to meet him once — [he was] a really humble, sweet guy."

Goldmine: "The first time I met Ronnie was in Limerock, Connecticut at Skip Barber Racing School. We drove fast cars all day and talked about music afterwards. It was truly amazing. I was a bit nervous about meeting him because, after all, it was Ronnie James Dio! However, after five minutes of conversation, I felt totally at ease because of his genuine and friendly nature. He was the voice of my youth. I will always hold him in highest regard as a person and as a vocalist. Long live Ronnie James Dio, long live rock and roll."

Крэйг Голди (гитарист Dio и Budgie): Words simply fail me. There is a hole in my soul and I am unable to comprehend what has just happened. Words being one of many of Ronnie's ultimate creative recourses unleashed upon the world have now become my weakness. Please forgive me if I miss the mark in my aim to honor the most amazing man I have ever known. Ronnie James Dio is and was more than a legendary musician, friend and fellow band member, he was my family. He is the reason anyone really even knows who I am at all and why I exist. He rescued me from sleeping in a car on the streets of San Diego and Los Angeles and brought me into his world where dreams come true, kindness to strangers and fans, warmth, humility and integrity are paramount and where creativity could be without boundaries that could change people's lives forever. I know he changed mine. Not just through his music and the voice that turned his unique abilities into a legend, but who he was as a person and how he treated me and everyone he came in contact with directly and indirectly. He was so very good to me. I have so many memories of his kindness not only to me and his fans, but to perfect strangers as well. I was introduced to his talent before I met the man. Because of his incomparable talent for lyrics, I knew him before I even met him. He loved to read me his lyrics before he recorded the songs they belonged to because he knew that I would crack the code and would understand what he meant before he would have to translate them. He loved to be understood and I understood him, and that was where our special connection began so many years ago. We will all ache for the music that could've and should've been. However, we will be eternally grateful for the music, the man and the legend that we were given for such a short period time. Rest in peace, my dear friend. I will miss you deeply always and forever.

Билл Уорд (барабанщик Black Sabbath): "My wife and I have sent our condolences and have felt very sad with the news of Ronnie's passing. We wish to extend our positive thoughts and love to all those who loved Ronnie, and we salute him as a singer, performer, songwriter and arranger. We plan to make no further statements and prefer to remain private at this time."

Иэн Гиллан (вокалист Deep Purple): "My dear friend Ronnie, Departed but not gone. Resting peacefully (for a while) but never forgotten. I've had a sackful of mail since your passing; a sharing of grief and sorrow. We all remember your huge voice, of course — my ears are still ringing: Your wicked humour and sense of decency: The utter professionalism and personality that inspired so much respect from your friends in music. The list goes on but the quality that stands out above all others is your enduring generosity. The one thing that we all treasure, the gift you gave us was your kindness. We all agree you were the kindest man we ever knew. Catch up later, mate."

Стив Морс (гитарист Deep Purple): "Ronnie Dio was a real musician. He was a guy that everybody liked, and always sang loud, in tune, and strong, with that famous voice. I watched him patiently deal with fans at the stage door, and patiently deal with me when I was lucky enough to back him up on our orchestra tour (Deep Purple and orchestra with special friends). We backed him up doing a couple of his tunes, and he was tactful and precise with his constructive comments. He could tell if I played one note wrong. I recall him telling me that he used to play trumpet, which might explain his very good ears. Everybody that ever met him will miss him, as well as anybody who ever heard him sing.

MTV News:"There's not a lot of people like Ronnie. You start to recognize [his] amazing contribution to rock and roll, or to music, however you want to look at it. People have taken it for granted because he's so good and he's always been there. He's so consistent, he's always putting out albums, he's been in four different bands, and he's always been around. And all of a sudden, the reality of him not being there anymore really makes you recognize what an iconic and amazing individual he was. Ronnie is one of a kind. He was phenomenal. We met many times in passing. Not too long ago, we put our hand imprints at the RockWalk at Guitar Center in Los Angeles together. He was a consummate gentleman — the kind of rock star people should aspire to be, as opposed to being sort of arrogant pricks. Ronnie was very genuine and very considerate and just really nice to everybody". Slash said the reality was just beginning to set in that the world will be without the singer's signature operatic wail.

Лу Фалько (бывший солист Wicked Maraya): "After a lifetime of listening to and being moved by everything Ronnie James Dio did — from Rainbow to Heaven & Hell — I had the pleasure of spending time with him after Heaven & Hell's May 2007 concert in Houston. To sit down for an hour and talk singing, vocal melodies, and lyrics with my all-time favorite singer was mind-blowing. His influence on me and every other vocalist can never be measured. The fact that he made you feel like an equal while talking about a craft that he soared above most in tells so much about the man... the LEGEND. His voice will reign forever..."

Accept: "It is with great sadness that we join with the rest of the metal world in mourning the passing of friend Ronnie James Dio. He was a true gentleman, a voice of metal, and a good friend. We toured with him and adored him. He was one of the finest human beings, always a kind word, always thoughtful to all of those around him. He humbled us with his presence and he will be the brightest star in rock 'n' roll heaven! Ronnie, you will be missed."

"You know 67 year old, Satan-worshiping (or at least one of their enablers) Ronnie James Dio (of showing his devil horns to the world each time he goes in public) Black Sabbath fame is dead, right? We'll be there! Just because the chances of any of God's elect being amongst this group of heavy metal sycophants is slim to none does not mean they should not get some good words.
Yes, it is true that Ozzy Osbourne did 'accidentally' bite off the head of a bat, but THAT is the least of their sins (little nasties!), they currently do not do that, but they throw raw meat to the audience and encourage violence of EVERY FORM!"
The WBC web site then proceeds to list "admitted sins of this now dead and in hell pervert: 1) He hates his neighbor(s) starting with Ozzy Osbourne, and continuing down to his pornography star niece Gen Padova! 2) He hates God. Pay especial attention to the fact that he changed his original sir name from Padova to Dio, which means God in Italian. 3) Ronnie the simpleton enabled, and encouraged Sorceries: everything he was about including the little finger horn thing (he got this from his mother which is an incantation to ward off the 'evil eye') to the drugs, bloody raw meat and his fellowship with those pentagon necklace wearing freakish band members."
"Yes, Ronnie James Padova (NOT DIO) is currently residing in hell. When all those who worship him and his false gods meet him in hell it will be just like this: Isaiah 2:12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: Isaiah 14:11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. Praise God all ye, His people. The Great Day of the Lord draws nigh. AMEN!"

Tahoe Daily Tribune:
"I called Ronnie a couple of times but he was really sick. He was living in privacy and I gave him his privacy. ... I just dropped him a line to tell him I was thinking about him.
Getting to play with Ronnie is what launched my whole career. I wouldn't be in Alice Cooper if it hadn't have been for Ronnie James Dio. He gave me my break.
He was one of the nicest and sweetest guys you could imagine. I felt at home as soon as I walked into the rehearsal room and played with Ronnie. It just felt natural and comfortable. He was just a pleasure to be around."

SLAMM, Vanilla Fudge, Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne, Ted Nugent):
"I've known Ronnie since his days with Rainbow. He was the best heavy metal singer to ever live. He had so much power in his voice it was so intense. He wrote great metal anthems.
I really got to know him well when my brother [Vinny Appice] started working with him in Black Sabbath, then Dio. He was part of our family, coming to family functions for holidays, weddings etc. He even came to my bachelor party and wedding in 1983. He was friends with my kids; he was family.
We spent all day Saturday [May 15] at the hospital. It was sad to see him like that.
He was truly loved by millions and by all the people he worked with.
All his close friends were around him at this time. Again, truly loved by all his friends; amazing love from all.
It is hard to believe he is gone. His spirit of life will live on in his music and we will never forget Ronnie James Dio, the great heavy metal singer, a friend for years and a brother to my brother Vinny.
I've sent my sympathies out to Wendy [Ronnie's wife/manager] and Ronnie's family, as well as my brother Vinny, along with Geezer [Butler] and Tony [Iommi].
Ronnie, we love you bro. 'You will be missed' is an understatement!!

Лондон Уайлд (вокалист Wildestarr): "People all over the world have mourned in unison with the passing of Ronnie James Dio. For me, as both a fan and a vocalist who owes my entire path in life to the influence of Dio's incredible one-of-a-kind voice, it feels like a part of me has died as well. Like everyone else, I just wanted...well, MORE. More concerts to look forward to. More music, and, as Ronnie himself said in his press release two weeks before his passing, 'more magic.'
As I reflect on this, I realize how fortunate we ALL are, that Dio graced us with his presence. The prolific artist he was, left us with a staggering amount of incredible music spanning over decades. His influence is felt in generations of musicians and vocalists, that have shaped the metal landscape forever. The legacy he left us will live on. On and on and on...
Thank you, Ronnie, for the music, the magic, and the inspiration you have given us all."

The Last in Line.

Live Evil.

Сингл "We Rock" оставался в первой десятке чартов Metal Hammer'a до начала 90-х.
Blizzard of Ozz.

Holy Diver.
