John Lennon's sister rages over claims Beatles star wasn't loved



JOHN LENNON’S sister has hit back at claims her brother was abandoned by their mother. Speaking on what would have been his 68th birthday, Julia Baird said she wasn’t happy about comments made in relation to a new film about John which said he was a “lonely teenager abandoned by his mother”.

Julia was in the city to open a new exhibition celebrating the life of John at the Beatles Story at Albert Dock.

Speaking yesterday, she said: “John is no longer around to defend himself from some of the bizarre, sordid and downright scurrilous rumours that still sadly surround his extraordinary life.

“It makes me so sad, especially in recent weeks, when all manner of accusations have been flying about.

“In 2007, I wrote a book, Imagine This, which was my attempt to tell the truth about John’s childhood.

“John was removed from our mother, Julia, at the age of five to live with his aunt Mimi. He was not abandoned nor was he unloved – despite what the accepted tale might be.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to reiterate once more the love our mother Julia had for both John and I.

“In the short time I had with her, she installed the deep love and spiritual strength which have let me go on and was an inspiration to brother John.

“I’m in no doubt that John felt the same.”

Julia was speaking at the opening of The Many Faces of John Lennon, a photographic collection featuring over 40 images from Lennon’s career.

Also on display will be items of John’s clothing, including the black velvet jacket he wore in the “Imagine film” which returns to the museum courtesy of Liverpool actor Jack Marsden.

Also on display will be one of John’s distinctive round-necked stage suits, designed by tailor to the stars, Dougie Millings.

This suit was worn by John on many occasions throughout 1963 and early 1964, before being donated to the first Madame Tussaud’s Beatles display in April, 1964. Thought lost or destroyed for many years, it was recently discovered in a warehouse in West London. Jerry Goldman, managing director of the Beatles Story, said: “With October 9 marking what would have been John’s birthday, it is only fitting that we celebrate his life with something special. ”

The exhibition comes to the Beatles Story from Hamburg’s “Center of Beat” and features many famous photos of John Lennon and the Beatles, including stunning images of the embryonic band as they played and partied on Hamburg’s notorious music scene of the early ’60s.

The photographs include Astrid Kirchherr’s iconic studies of Lennon.

The exhibition will run until March 9, 2009.

Очень нравится, как эту песню исполняет Barbra Streisand на альбоме 1971 года,там же есть и другая песня Джона- Love. Естественно, не подвергаю сомнению
авторское исполнение Джона.

Особенно слезу по щеке...

Можете бросать в меня камнями, но я считаю, что этот альбом Леннона стоил распада Битлз...

Относительно того, что выложил Эксперт: не очень-то верится, потому что слова сестры Джона не вполне совпадают с его собственными воспоминаниями о детстве (см. хотя бы Антологию). Мне кажется, Джулии Бэрд просто неприятно, что о ее матери думают так плохо. В общем, я ее понимаю. Наверное, на ее месте любой бы сказал так.

Я тоже раньше думала, что Джулия бросила Джона. А недавно прочла книгу Синтии Леннон и с удивлением узнала, что Мими буквально насильно отобрала его у Джулии.

After their mother's death Mimi had become the family matriarch. Soon after Julia moved in with Bobby, Mimi went to visit them and told Julia that she was unfit to be five-year-old John's mother because she was living with a man to whom she wasn't married and had given birth to an illegitimate child. She told Julia to hand John over to her and she would bring him up.
Julia and Bobby refused: John was Julia's child and should stay with her. They sent Mimi away, but she was a determined woman. She told social services that Julia and Bobby weren't married and demanded that John be given to her. But the social worker came down on Julia's side: there were no grounds for John to be taken away from a loving home.
When Mimi discovered that John didn't have his own room and shared a bed with Julia and Bobby, she insisted that social services inspect Julia's home again. This time Julia was told that John must live with Mimi until she and Bobby had found a bigger flat. Mimi had won.

The cop was Eric Clague. His badge number was #126. The license plate on his "Vanguard" Saloon car was LKF-630.

John's first wife Cynthia, and mother of his other son Julian, explained how John and his mother had begun to find happiness in each other's company again just before she died.

"During his teens, John began to see more and more of Julia and they became very close," she said.

"They would dance around the living room to the latest American records.

"One incident he told me about was when he and Julia would go on walks together.

"For a laugh Julia would put a pair of knickers on her head and wear a pair of old glasses without lenses.

"When they met someone, she had a habit of scratching her eyes through the frames. This would really crease John.

"Their sense of humour was almost identical. He was never happier than when he was with her.

"But after her death, John was left full of emptiness and bitterness and the hard exterior he built up was self-produced. He didn't want to be owned by anyone."

The atmosphere in the session room reflected an electrifying degree of tension, and it was clear that John was experiencing a deep level of pain.
'Tell your father what you need of him,' instructed the therapist, encouraging John to follow through his pain and to discharge the strong emotions which were now nearing the surface.

John found it almost impossible to give voice to the words he wanted to say, but they eventually came out in a choked sob. 'Daddy, I want you to come and join me and Mummy. I don't want you to leave me.' As he spoke it was as if he had suddenly released a floodgate of sorrow, and for the first time in many years his tears began to flow freely. But there was still more pain to be unleashed and it was the role of the therapist to push John a little further until he reached the core of his anguish.

'Your Daddy can't hear you, John,' he pressed him. 'Tell your Daddy what you need of him.'
'I need you to come after me. I need you to hold me, Daddy,' pleaded John, his voice now raised to screaming pitch as all the hurt and rage of nearly twenty-five years came pouring out. He was now on his knees, pounding the wall as he screamed the words 'Daddy, Daddy' over and over again. And as he punched away the pain, his feeling of anguish was compounded by a new and totally overwhelming terror.

His consciousness now shifted to the day he fell into a deep gully of sand on Blackpool beach, from which he was unable to free himself until his father found him. He felt himself to be surrounded by dark walls on all four sides and he was gripped by a sensation of blind panic as the sand appeared to be closing over him, shutting out the light of the sky.

'Daddy, Daddy, Daddy,' he screamed, his whole body now shaking with fear. But there was no way that John could make his Daddy hear him, and once again he felt isolated and deserted. He was overcome by a sense of dread that he would never see his father again. It seemed that the trauma of the beach incident and the ordeal of his parents' parting a few days later had become inextricably intertwined in John's subconscious, resulting in an emotional burden which had remained with him since childhood but which had been too terrible for him ever to recall.

But now, as John curled himself into the foetal position, the therapist knew that the worst of the tension had been released, and at John's request he enacted the role of his father and bent down to stroke his head gently."




Речь получается больше даже не о матери, а о разводе родителей Джона Леннона. Так как ребенок обращается в песне и к тому и другому "Что вы наделали".

Интересно... Я только не пойму, Полина присутствовала на этой сессии?

Единственным, кто мог рассказать о сессии был сам Джон.

Выложили наконец-то!

Когда Шелби Линн было 17 лет, её семья жила в маленьком городке в штате Алабама.
В 1985 году отец Шелби, злоупотребляющий алкоголем, застрелил ее мать, а затем застрелился сам.

Господи...Какой ужас...Я даже не могу себе представить, как с этим жить...
