Вот прошелся по центру Москвы, увидел афишу Театра "Луны". "Рубиновый Вторник"...Это Кен Кизи "Как улизнуть из "Дурки"...Опять МакМэрфи...Но под песенки сабжа...Не знаю, что за чертофсчинка-премьерщинка...Вспомнился и спектакль "Губы Мика Джаггера" по пьесе польского драматурга Д. Новаковского в постановке Елены Невежиной и Нижегородского театра...Неплохой перформанс получился... :)

Rolling Stones to Gather Moss Again

Brace yourselves — they're back!

The Rolling Stones are determined to recapture the title of World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band from pretenders to the throne U2.

I'm told they will announce a new album and tour next Tuesday in New York. A press conference/concert has been booked for midtown, possibly Bryant Park.

A publicist will only say: "It's at a very accessible place."

In the past, the Stones have performed on a flatbed truck on Fifth Avenue in NYC. But they've been upstaged in recent years by U2, who took a page from the Stones' book by rolling on their own truck across the Brooklyn Bridge to announce their current tour.

The tour is set to start in late summer and hit New York in September, right before Paul McCartney's tour blows through town. Shades of the old Beatles vs. Stones rivalry!

A new Stones album may also be announced Tuesday, making it their 407th since 1965, or at least it feels that way.

But seriously, none of that matters, as long as we get a full version of "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" and maybe Billy Preston as a surprise treat

Stones to roll into Moncton for concert

MONCTON, N.B. - The Rolling Stones are set to rock Moncton, N.B., this summer, in what is being touted as the largest concert ever held in Atlantic Canada.

Ian Fowler, director of community development for the city of Moncton, said Thursday that the Stones will appear at an early September outdoor concert held at the Magnetic Hill concert site. The venue can accommodate more than 60,000 people and is where Pope John Paul II gave a papal mass in 1984.

The concert, likely to fall after the summer tourist season, will be a boon for the city, Fowler told CBC News.

"There's no question that after Aug. 15, the traditional tourism season slows down, so to be able to have an event of this magnitude on the latter part of the tourism season is going to be wonderful for the hospitality industry," he said.

"Certainly, if you look at 55,000 to 60,000 people congregating in Moncton for a one-day event, it's going to make for hotels, restaurants, gas bars, etc., an abundance of business."

Local hotels reported a recent and sudden surge in bookings for early September weekends, possibly from fans taking a chance that the Stones might be coming to town.

The concert is expected to be part of a longer event, with the Stones joined by major Canadian performers.

However, the exact date and ticket price information are still unknown. Earlier this week, the band announced it will hold a live, televised news conference on Tuesday at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. Fans have come to expect spectacular tour announcements: in 2002, for example, the band announced its Licks World Tour, which ended in 2003, while aboard a yellow blimp circling a New York City park.

For weeks, rumours have circulated in anticipation of a possible summer tour announcement from the band, with some speculating it may be the last for the aging rock legends.

Other rumoured Canadian stops include Ottawa and Toronto, where the band has often rehearsed in advance of world tours and has held impromptu concerts. The Rolling Stones also headlined the 2003 SARS benefit concert, which drew half a million music fans to a former airfield in the northern part of the city.

Rolling Stones tour announcement anticipated

The Rolling Stones are expected to announce plans for a new tour during a Tuesday (5/10) press conference that will originate from New York City's famous Julliard School of Music.

Though the band hasn't officially tipped its hand as to what Tuesday's announcement will be, various news reports say that a live telecast and performance is planned.

Earlier this year, Boston officials approved plans for major concerts on Aug. 21 and 23, which are widely expected to be the shows that launch a Stones world tour predicted to run well into 2006. The Stones' last outing was the 2002-2003 "Licks" world tour, which played to more than 3.4 million fans and grossed nearly $300 million, according to Amusement Business.

The outing will include a stop at the New Charlotte Arena in North Carolina, home to the NBA's Bobcats, the Charlotte Observer reported. That show reportedly will take place prior to U2's Dec. 12 concert at the same venue.

CBC news reported this week that the Stones are planning an early September outdoor show in Moncton, New Brunswick. Promoters are quoted as predicting that the show, at the 60,000-capacity Magnetic Hill concert site, will be the largest concert ever held in Atlantic Canada.

Charlottesville, VA's Scott Stadium is also expected to host a show, according to local news reports.

Earlier this year, producer Don Was told liveDaily that he was working with the Stones on a new album that is expected to hit stores later this year. Meanwhile, Virgin Records recently issued re-issued versions of two best-of albums from the Stones, "Sucking in the Seventies" and "Made in the Shade."
