BOWING to reported intense pressure from his daughter, former Beatle Paul McCartney arranged to have his new bride sign a prenuptial agreement that would keep her from getting her hands on his fortune, estimated to be worth as much as three-quarters of a billion dollars, should they break up.
According to London's Daily Mail, McCartney and the former Heather Mills had agreed that she would get a hefty multimillion-dollar settlement should their marriage end in divorce.
The Mail reported that McCartney's daughter, dress designer Stella McCartney, was bitterly opposed to the marriage and only showed up at the wedding out of respect for her dad.
"She has made no secret of the fact that she despises Heather and she is angry that Heather has made little attempt to be friendly towards her, " a source confided to the Mail. "It is an extremely difficult situation for Paul."
The Mail reported that the former Beatle was originally opposed to signing the contract but succumbed to pressure from his family, none of whom have taken to his 34-year-old bride and her checkered past love life.
