Garden Party in London

Paul was introduced by Dame Edna. Paul came out dressed in jeans, a red button down shirt and a black jacket. Pretty much as he wore in his concerts. With him was Abe, Wix, Rusty and Brian. Must have been quite an honor for them to be playing Buckingham Palace.

Paul came out and immediately sung Her Majesty. The camera panned a shot of the Queen when he was finished. Can't say what her reaction was.

Paul said the 'I rang the Queen up and asked her if she was going to have another party next year, and she replied 'not in my garden!'

George Martin came out looking grand, and told the story of how JPG&R first came into the studio and he asked the lads if there was anything they didn't like, and George replied, 'I don't like your tie'. George Martin laughed and said that he knew that would be a good relationship with the beatles. George Martin said more nice things about George and then introduced Eric Clapton and said that George's friends, both Paul and Eric played with George on this one.

Paul and George played 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'. Paul played the magic piano. They sounded really good.

Everyone came out and then they all sang All You Need is Love. Then, Paul played Sgt Pepper Reprise. This really brought down the house.

Everyone was on their feet, singing, waving their union jacks...

Then the Queen came out with the royal family, escorted by George Martin. Prince Charles read from a prepared speech 'Your majesty'... then paused... and said, 'mummy' which really brought the house down. The queen smiled. The crowd really hollered and waved their flags when the Queen was shown, and they particularly enjoyed Prince William and Prince Harry. Who are both quite nice looking young men.

After the royal family left the stage, Paul asked if we were ready for one more song... and he started 'Hey Jude'.

The fire works display was fabulous. They spotlighted the Palace, once as a union jack and had 1952 - 2002 hightlighted.
