Умер Сторм Торгерсон, создатель обложек альбомов Pink Floyd

В Великобритании на 70-м году жизни скончался фотограф и дизайнер Сторм Торгерсон, автор обложек большинства альбомов группы Pink Floyd. Об этом сообщает Associated Press.

Непосредственная причина смерти Торгенсона не называется, однако известно, что в последние несколько лет он тяжело болел. В сообщении о его кончине подчеркивается, что он умер в окружении семьи и друзей.

Торгерсон, получивший образование в Королевском колледже искусств, в 1968 году основал студию дизайна «Hipnosis». На протяжении следующих нескольких лет студия, в которой Торгерсон был одним из основных авторов идей, оформляла обложки для ведущих рок-групп того времени; среди ее клиентов были Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Bad Company, Black Sabbath и Rainbow.

Еще в середине 1960-х годов Торгерсон познакомился с участниками Pink Floyd Сидом Барретом и Роджером Уотерсом и впоследствии создал обложки для большинства альбомов группы, в частности, для «The Dark Side of the Moon», «Animals» и «Wish You Were Here». Гитарист коллектива Дэвид Гилмор впоследствии заявлял, что обложки, созданные Торгенсоном, являются «неотъемлемой частью работ Pink Floyd».

В 1982 году студия «Hipgnosis» была закрыта, однако Торгерсон продолжил заниматься оформлением альбомных обложек самостоятельно. В последнее десятилетие он разрабатывал дизайны обложек для пластинок таких групп как Muse, Audioslave, The Offspring и The Mars Volta.

Hipgnosis – поистине гипнотическое слово, завораживало с самого начала 70-х, когда, читая на обложках альбомов "cover sleeve design by Hipgnosis", представлял себе этих дизайнеров, под стать самим флойдам или 10cc... Rest in Peace, Storm...

Шок. Совсем недавно читал (по-моему, на ДаркСайде), что Сторм занимается дизайном обложки альбома какого-то проекта.... Такие люди всегда кажутся бессмертными. Впрочем, уход в 69 лет для человека, которого пережила его мать, до обидного рано.

В частности он сказал: «Впервые мы встретились, когда были ещё подростками. Мы часто собирались в Sheep's Green — это такое место у реки в Кембридже, и он постоянно разглагольствовал, производил больше всех шума, фонтанировал идеями и энтузиазмом. Таким он и оставался всю жизнь. Он всегда присутствовал в моей жизни — и на работе, и вне нее, и всегда был мне прекрасным другом, которому можно было открыть душу. Мне будет его не хватать."

Обложка "Wish You Were Here" сама в себе - психоделик! Я когда приобрел этот
шедевр, так мне от одной обложки мозги завернуло (как давно это было!!!).
А "Animals" приобретался на кассете, там свинью не было видно, эту тему я
вкусил недавно, относительно.

Точно. Как и Wings over America.

Имя Сторма Торгерсона будет жить еще очень долго в его великолепных работах, и в наших сердцах и умах. Беря в руки альбомы с его работами будем вспоминать добрым словом ВЕЛИКОГО МАСТЕРА.

Ушел Мастер. Великий Мастер. Последние работы Торгерсона (как Audioslave или Cranberries) уже не впечатляли (может, из-за того, что это были CD, а может из-за самоповторов), но его классика будет еще долго востребована. Один из немногих, кто возвел кавер-арт в ранг искусства. We will miss you, Storm.

Мало кого из доживших до наших дней художников можно всерьёз назвать великими, но Сторма - легко и с чистой совестью. Рене Магритт с фотокамерой! Он оставил на Земле красивый след!

Как бы так чтоб не грубо звучало? Вам обнажёнки в Воронеже не хватает? Или нет доступа к источникам, где можно почерпнуть любую информацию прежде чем писать всякую хрень на уважаемом форуме? Если Роберт Плант решил, что на этой обложке должны быть его дети (кстати сын и дочь, а не девочки, как Вам бы, наверное, хотелось), он никак не думал о том, что кого-то через 40 лет вдруг недовозбудит картинка. А покойный Сторм облёк всё это в присущую лишь ему одному форму, не предполагающую каких-либо пошлых мыслей. Листайте лучше "Playboy" - Ваша тема.

Ну, почему же так?! Мне ещё в далёком 75-м "старшие" товарищи указали что читать на конвертах. С тех пор Hipnosis, Roger Dean всегда были на виду.

Я еще до того, как узнал авторство некоторых обложек (часто они были просто пересняты батей и были в виде Ч/Б фоток отдельно от бобин и кассет), - чувствовал что-то знакомое. Стиль. Почерк.
А потом, когда информация стала более доступна - все встало на свои места. )))
