Funny thing about some songs is when you're writing them you can think you're someone else. I mean when I was doing Long and Winding Road I thought I was Ray Charles. On Friends to Go I realized that I was playing George Harrison. So I was writing with that in the back of my mind. 'I've been waiting on the other side for your friends to leave so I don't have to hide,' that whole sequence I can see George doing. You know I just sat down to write and the feeling of George came over me. I just kept imagining that I was over by some sort of housing estate, where these people lived, in a block of flats and I was over the other side just watching them and waiting for them to go so I could go in. I don't know why, but a psychiatrist could probably have a whale of a time with that one. (http://www.daytrippin.com/mccartney.htm)
Ключевая фраза здесь, на мой взгляд, "I was PLAYING George Harrison". Т.е.

To: Mux.

Kate Bush returns By JANE STEVENSON -- Toronto Sun Ever wonder what happened to British singer-songwriter Kate Bush?
Bush, whose last studio album was 1993's The Red Shoes, is apparently preparing a comeback.
Peter Gabriel, who employed Bush for his Don't Give Up video -- part of his music video DVD collection, Play, in stores this week -- filled in the Sun.
"Kate had a son and lost her mom and I think that kept her (occupied)," said Gabriel. "I spoke to her quite recently in fact and she's just about finished on a new record. It is exciting. She's being a mom and loving it. So, if you like, music's gone from being full-time to being part-time, so that slows you down.
"She pointed out (she takes) even longer than I take," joked Gabriel, who was 10 years between studio albums most recently.
Re: David Gilmour and Paul McCartney Автор:Mr. ZeroДата: 12.02.04 14:23:55
Pink Floyd axe man Dave Gilmour has slammed close pal Sir Paul McCartney - for not donating more of his $1.26 billion fortune to charity.
The "Dark Side of the Moon" star - who is often featured on the British rich lists alongside the former Beatle - says he finds it incredibly difficult to spend his enormous wealth, and wonders what McCartney is doing with his own bank balance.
And Gilmour - who recently sold his London home for $6.4 million and donated the money to the homeless charity Crisis - wants to encourage the "Let it Be" legend to part with some money to help complete a community project that needs funds.
"My friend Paul McCartney is meant to have more than $900 million. The way he lives, you can understand where $180 million goes. But I have no idea what he does with the other $720 million.”
"That's a crazy amount of money and nobody needs it."
