Посмотрел последний концерт "Мордашек" 74 гэ с Китом Ричардсом в качестве приглашенного пугала.
Вот это концерт! Вот это настоящий рок энд, мать его, ролл! Ребяты, эт нада видеть! Молодоцы "Физии"! Быстрее б уж собралися...Хотя, последние нетленки Рода тожа ничаво, но эт из другой жизни и из другого настроения ("ин зе муда", как говаривал Гленн Миллер)

А кто помнит альбом "OOH LA LA" с "красоткой кабаре" ("красотками") на внутреннем развороте?
Кстати, год-два назад по ТВ показали, как Род перепел ее заново (в смысле заглавную песню). Кто видел, отзовитесь?

Видел какое-то телевизионное выступление, в котором вместе с командой Рода в песне Mandolin Wind на мандалине играл Пол Джонс. Хорошо получалось.

Новый клип на эту песню был снят в 1998 году, и его тут же стали крутить по российскому MTV, только что появившемуся тогда. Там он в окружении девушек. Как всегда, в общем.

Соловушке сегодня стукнуло 60!!!

Только что посмотрел ""Storytellers". На вопрос из зала "Кто играл на мандолине в "Мэгги Мэй" Род ответил: "Какой-то парень из Lindisfarne". Вот так все не по-современному просто.

Stewart picks up friend's hospital bills as he fights for life

DEVASTATED Rod Stewart is paying the medical bills of old friend and blues legend Long John Baldry as he fights for his life.

Singer Rod kept a bedside vigil last month at a clinic in London for the man who discovered him.

But Surrey-born John, 64, then flew back to Canada where he lives and is now desperately ill in Vancouver General Hospital with breathing problems.

Relatives from Britain have flown out to be with him.

A hospital spokesman said yesterday: "He has been in the hospital since the end of March when he was admitted with respiratory-related problems. He is in intensive care where his condition is stable."

John spotted Rod's talent in the 1960s when he heard him singing to himself at midnight at Twickenham station in South West London.

He offered Rod the chance to join his band The Hoochie Coochie Men and he jumped at the chance.

The pair became inseparable friends and later laughed off rumours that they were lovers. Rod went on to cut his own record Good Morning Schoolgirl in 1964 but the mates always kept in touch.

John later described how Rod, now 60, as a shy performer "apart from when he was tracking down tarts, he wasn't so shy then".

John went on to have a No 1 hit single with Let the Heartaches Begin. He also gave Sir Elton John his first break in music when he used the then humble piano player's backing band Bluesology. And guitarist Eric Clapton said John's love of blues inspired his own career.

John played with many music greats over the years including The Beatles, Mick Jagger and Jimmy Page.

And he kept in touch with his most famous musical partners, inviting Rod, Sir Elton, Joe Cocker, Fleetwood Mac, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood to his 50th birthday party.

John, who had a stint in a mental hospital after a bad experience with Valium, said that the prospect of turning 50 didn't scare him.

He said: "I think I was scared of reaching my 30th. I suppose everybody starts to feel their mortality as their 20s progress. By the time you hit 40 and then 50 - hey, it's okay."

Rod, now engaged to Penny Lancaster, always looked him up when he was on tour in America and John was at his wedding to Rachel Hunter in 1991.

Кстати, очень нравился его альбом каверов Lead Singer, где он пел и роллингов, и Тома Уэйтса...

ROD STEWART CLOSES THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK

Rocking ROD STEWART is to close his well-received AMERICAN SONGBOOK series of standards after one more release, because he wants to concentrate on recording R+B greats.

The British star's three American Songbook releases have sold more than 13 million copies globally, but Stewart insists his upcoming fourth album, released this autumn (05), will be his last.

He says, "I could keep doing those standards well into my 90s, but I think that four is enough.

"I want to record old songs by JOE TEX, SOLOMON BURKE, TEDDY PENDERGRASS and BOBBY WOMACK."

Пластинка с р-н-б коврами будет беспроигрышным вариантом, несомненно. Род это может как никто другой. Только хочется уже немного оригинальных песен. Как бы он потом не задумал сделать какую-нибудь мотауновскую коллекцию.

Rod Stewart is to be a father again at the age of 60, it is reported today.

The singer's fiancee Penny Lancaster, 34, is said to be pregnant with her first child.

The couple, who have been together five years, are set to make an official announcement in the next few weeks. At present, they have only told friends and family.

It is understood Stewart proposed to Ms Lancaster in Paris in March after discovering she was expecting his baby. She has had a first scan and carries a photograph in her handbag.

The couple prompted speculation after announcing that their wedding, originally planned for November, will now take place next spring. The postponement will allow Ms Lancaster to get back in shape after the birth.

Stewart already has six children, of whom Sarah Thubron, 41, is the oldest - the result of an affair with an art student. He had Kimberly, 25, and her brother, Sean, 24 with his first wife Alana Hamilton.

Stewart also has a 17-year-old daughter, Ruby, by Kelly Emberg, as well as a son Liam, 10, and daughter, Renee, 12, from his marriage to Rachel Hunter.

A friend said: "They are so thrilled. They love each other very much and a baby will make their life complete."

Ms Lancaster, a model, said last week: "Rod and I are definitely planning on having children."

Rod Stewart confirms new baby due

Rock star Rod Stewart is to become a father again at the age of 60 - and will marry fiancee Penny Lancaster after the baby is born.

The baby is due in early December and the wedding is set for spring 2006.

News of the pregnancy had leaked out, but the couple waited to confirm until Lancaster,33, had passed her 12th week.

Stewart said: "I count myself blessed to have bestowed upon me the honour of fatherhood again with Penny, whom I love and cherish so much."

The couple, who have been together almost six years, announced in March this year that they were to marry after Stewart's divorce from ex-wife Rachel Hunter was finalised.

This will be Stewart's seventh child.

The star describes himself as a father of five children - Kimberley, 25, and Sean, 24, by first wife Alana Stewart; Ruby, 17, by former girlfriend Kelly Emberg; and Renee, 13, and Liam, 10, by second wife Rachel Hunter.

He also has a sixth child, Sarah Thubron, 41, born before he was famous following a teenage romance with art student Susannah Boffey.

He married Hunter in 1990 but they split after nine years.

After a 40-year career, Stewart has enjoyed one of his most successful periods to date, topping the US album chart for the first time and winning his first Grammy Award.

ROD STEWART PLANS FOURTH EDITION IN 'SONGBOOK' SERIES

Rod Stewart plans to release the fourth CD in his Great American Songbook series on October 18th. An official title and album details have not yet been announced. His record label will then put out a multiple CD compilation, called The Great American Songbook Box Set, on November 8th, according to a press release.

Stewart is coming off the great success of last year's Stardust...The Great American Songbook: Volume III, which debuted at Number One on the Billboard Top 200. The Grammy-winning standards collection came on the heels of both 2003's As Time Goes By... and 2002's It Had To Be You... .

The 60-year-old singer and his fiancee, Penny Lancaster, are expecting their first baby together in December. They plan to marry later this year or in 2006.
