ALL NEW Beatles, Wings and Solo Concert Tour Now 37 Performances; 9 Shows Added; ALL SOLD OUT

It took just a few 'collective' hours for fans across America to purchase nearly 500,000 concert tickets for Paul McCartney's ALL-NEW Beatles, Wings and solo concert tour. Shows for 'US' in Columbus, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Seattle, Portland, Houston, Atlanta and Washington all sold-out in under 20 minutes (each), while in Omaha, where McCartney has NEVER performed onstage, tickets for 'US' eclipsed U2 as the city's fastest selling concert event ever (14 minutes). In Toronto, organizers are saying it was their fastest sell-out in recent history ­ 10 minutes. 'US' tickets have become McCartney's fastest selling concert tour ever, even outpacing "Back In The U.S."

Tickets for concerts in Detroit (8 minutes), Boston (10 minutes), Chicago and Philadelphia (15 minutes), San Jose, Anaheim and Los Angeles (18 minutes each) sold-out so fast that 2nd shows were immediately added, which delighted waiting fans.

McCartney has promised all the hits and then some, according to organizers. Not just the classics, but songs that have yet to be or haven't been performed on American soil in nearly 15 years. Set to launch in Miami on September 16th, McCartney's 'US' tour is now slated for 37 performances in 11 weeks.

"Tickets were gone faster then you could say Maccamania," said Brad Wavra, Clear Channel Music Group. "And why shouldn't they be? This is THE concert not to miss."

"The fans have spoken and this is unquestionably THE ticket to have," said Paul Gongaware, AEG Live/Concerts West. "A McCartney concert is one that our children will tell their children about. It's not just a concert, but a guaranteed memory."

As presenting sponsor of the 'US' Tour, Lexus will host a number of exclusive customer events surrounding the concert schedule.

"We'll announce more information about our sponsorship within the next few months,' said Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager, Bob Carter. "The extraordinary sell-out of the 'US' Tour is quite impressive and makes our Lexus concert event program that much more desirable."

Sold Out Concert Tour Begins September 16

TORRANCE, Calif., May 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Lexus and Paul McCartney have announced a groundbreaking partnership that names Lexus as presenting sponsor of the Paul McCartney 'US' Tour this fall. The Lexus tour sponsorship, which will include multiple marketing extension opportunities through March 2006, represents the first time McCartney has ever partnered with a commercial brand in his distinguished career.

Lexus and I share the same philosophy and approach to creating the best work possible -- me with my music and art and Lexus with the vehicles they create," said McCartney. McCartney will be performing 37 concerts during the 'US' tour, featuring many songs that have not been performed on American soil in the past 15 years. Nearly 300,000 tickets went on sale for this concert series and sold out in record-breaking time in most cities -- some in less than 10 minutes.

Lexus and Paul McCartney have several marketing initiatives in development to support the partnership. Of particular interest to McCartney -- who is a long-time advocate for environmental causes -- is the Lexus RX 400h, the world's first luxury hybrid SUV. This vehicle proves that environmental consciousness doesn't have to mean sacrificing performance, luxury or styling. McCartney will join other celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Natalie Portman -- both of whom chose to arrive at this year's Academy Awards in a Lexus RX 400h -- in championing such an important development in the automotive world.

The RX 400h has been certified as a Super Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle and has an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 29 mpg, better than the average for compact sedans, and an EPA-estimated highway fuel economy of 27 mpg and 31 mpg in the city. The vehicle boasts a V6 engine that delivers V8-like performance and provides a peak system output of 268 horsepower and a 7.3-second 0-to-60 acceleration.

Ну да. Потом годом позже исключиь из программы ряд песен (Lonely Road, Loving Flame, Can't Buy Me Love и пр), добавить ряд других (For No One, I'll Follow The Sun, You Won't See Mee и т.д). И так и кататься по свету - то одну программу споет, то другую. По очереди :))
Думаю, что это вряд ли "сурьезно" :))

Paul promises a revised setlist for his fall tour

In an interview aired on Dutch radio, Paul said there were three songs from "Chaos and Creation in the Back Yard" that he is considering for the US tour setlist: "Fine Line," "Jenny Wren" (acoustic set) and "English Tea."

Macca said the band was rehearsing "Fine Line" and it sounded great live. As far as other choices for the setlist, Paul said there are songs he must always include in the show, but the setlist will have some new additions that will please the fans.

И ни слова про репетиции, а тур уже начнется через 3 дня...

Про репетиции слышно то, что в числе звучащих на них вещей — Please Please Me и Come And Get It!

Впрочем, с репетиций до тура дай бог половина песен добирается...

...А вообще плохо представляю себе вещи с Chaos And Creation... на стадионных концертах. Просится камерный зал, Макка, меняющий инструменты и аккомпаниаторов как перчатки... Творческий вечер такой. Вроде David Gilmour In Concert...
