Here's a bit of advance notice for you all - Roger Waters and Nick Mason are interviewed, tomorrow evening, about the headline-making return of Pink Floyd at the Live 8 concert in London, last July.

EARLY FLOYD PRODUCER'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN 2006

Early Pink Floyd producer Joe Boyd is putting the finishing touches to his autobiography, looking at his work in the music industry in the sixties.

"White Bicycles: Making Music In The 1960s" is published by Serpent's Tail on 27th May 2006. It covers his work with the Syd Barrett line up of the Floyd, where he worked on their session at Sound Techniques Studios, and on the single release of Arnold Layne.

However, Pink Floyd were a small part of his work; other artists he worked with in his roles as record and film producer included Muddy Waters, the Incredible String Band and Richard Thompson. He also founded and was the musical director of the UFO Club in London with John "Hoppy" Hopkins.

The book promises some fascinating insights into his career; he worked at the mighty Elektra Records for some time until he was fired - the label were reluctant to sign Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd, which Boyd thought a mistake.

Могу сказать определенно - с нашей стороны подписан договор о предстоящих выступлениях.

По поводу альбома(мов) пока ничего точно неизвестно. Хотя планируется как минмум 2 альбома.

И, возможно, оба уже готовы.

Главное - надо дождаться!;)

Hello, My Floydian Friends!

As I slogged thru the mall yesterday, in search of some
type of foot warmer, and tentacle deglosser, I stopped
by my favorite music store to pick up the latest Chris Isaak
CD of Christmas tunes (sold out!) and I happened to notice
a magazine with a feature on Roger Waters.

Title of the magazine was `RAVE', and a topscript above
that said "India's Premier World Music Magazine".
The article itself was only two pages long, concerning Ca Ira
mostly, nothing new. There was a very good picture of him
on the table of contents pages.

Also,, the mag features interviews with Herbie Hancock, Billy
Cobham, and Peter Gabriel. Did you all know that Peter
Gabriel and Genesis are talking about doing a reunion?
Featured on the cover, and the main story, the Rolling Stones,
This is a very nice magazine, thick glossy pages thru-out.

Thought you Rog-o-philes would want to know!

Witnessing Pink Floyd reunited at Live8 for the first time in 24 years was the defining moment of 2005 for many rock fans.
The band's acclaimed one-off performance at Hyde Park clearly did nothing to hurt their reputation – and now they have been voted the world's greatest rock act of all time.
Pink Floyd beat other rock icons including U2 and The Who to the title.
Led Zeppelin came second, followed by The Rolling Stones, in the 10th Planet Rock poll of almost 60,000 rock fans.
In the survey, the digital radio station's listeners also named the 1970s the golden age of rock, followed by the 1960s, the Spandex years of the 1980s and the 1990s grunge decade.
Originally named Tea Set, the psychedelic progressive rock band were formed in Cambridge in 1965 and are thought to have sold 200 million albums worldwide.
Syd Barrett – the band's original vocalist – came up with the name The Pink Floyd Sound on the spur of the moment, when they found they were on the same bill as another group with the same name. Although they enjoyed moderate success in the late 1960s, worldwide acclaim came with the album Dark Side of the Moon in 1973. It was followed by successes including Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall.
Dark Side of the Moon stayed on the Billboard Top 200 in the US for an unprecedented 741 weeks and sold more than 40 million copies. Each year the album reportedly still sells around 250,000 copies, more than any other album of the 70s.
On July 2, bassist Roger Waters rejoined David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright at the Live8 concert in London. It was the classic line-up's first performance together since Waters fell out with the rest of the group in 1981.
Waters once even took Gilmour to court over who owned the band's name. However, the reunion prompted frenzied speculation they may work together again and Waters last month admitted he would consider it.
The band were also inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame last month.
Led Zeppelin debuted in 1968 with a revolutionary approach to British blues-rock. They later developed its music in other directions and contributed to the rise of heavy metal music.
Earlier this year, Zeppelin received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. A British radio census also determined Stairway to Heaven was the most requested song in history.
Nicky Horne, a presenter with Planet Rock, will count down the results over four days from 9am on December 28. He said: "Pink Floyd are one of the greatest bands in the history of rock and roll."
