I live in Canada and planned to go to France this summer to see Roger Waters. I bought two tickets and now am unable to go on that particular date. The company selling the tickets won't cancel them or refund me the money so I'm stuck with them! I'm willing to sell them for LESS THAN FACE value. Someone please help me cut my losses!

Gilmour refused to play Wall at Live 8

Former Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour refused to play the supergroup's biggest hit Another Brick In The Wall at Live 8 last summer, because he thought the song's anti-education theme was inappropriate.

Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright reunited with estranged bandmate Roger Waters for the first time in 24 years to perform at the London leg of the anti-poverty gig.

While Waters was keen for the group to perform Another Brick In The Wall, Gilmour pointed out the lyrics, "We don't need no education" and "If you don't eat yer' meat, you can't have any pudding" were not suitable for the gig, which aimed to raise awareness of poverty in Africa, where many children are malnourished and uneducated.

Gilmour explains, "(The song) was way off message.

"Anyway, I don't like it much. It's all right, but not part of the great emotional oeuvre.

"The songs that Roger wanted were not the ones I thought we should do. The arrangements of the songs were not the way Roger wanted to do them. But I kind of insisted."

В марте в московской галерее М’АРС пройдет выставка живописи и фотографии испанского фотографа Мартина Фриаса.

Автор решил показать в Москве в работы на тему рок-музыки и звезд этого жанра, многие из которых его личные друзья.

Это Robert Plant, Roger Waters, Freddy Mercury, а также Merylin Menson, которые позировали для него.

- это не опера, а мюзикл Ллойда-Уэббера (которого Уотерс, как известно, терпеть не может), причем мюзикл довольно средний: речитативы такие же нудные, как в "Эвите" и "Призраке Оперы" (предпочитаю "Джозефа", "Суперстар" и "Кошек"), но мелодии далеко не такие яркие.
И это при том, что отдельные эпизоды - скажем, "Madame Antoine", "Honest Bird" или "Now Hear Ye!.." - замечательно хороши.
И еще - забавно, как Уотерс даже в "опере" не может уйти от пинк-флойдовского прошлого: начало "Slavers, Landlords, Bigots" - это же "Embryo" (1968), только в другом темпе.

альбом и выступления в 84-85-х годах Roger Waters + Clapton - все отыграно на серийном American Standard Hardtail. Он сам об этом говорил, что было решение взять первый попавшийся из серии инструмент. Правда сам он признал, что на записи этот инструмент не потянул, и пришлось использовать American Deluxe. Тоже, впрочем, серийный инструмент.

On High School Year Book Quotes and Ca Ira

After listening to Roger Waters' latest contribution to Music History, Ca Ira (There Is A Hope) I've come to this conclusion: Mr. Waters is a misogynist.

Allow me to explain? No? Are you sure? Really? Why? I don't want to do that now? Where?! Hell no!! Not even for that much money!!! What the shit is going on...etc

Let's start with some deep analysis of Dark Side of The Moon. The Moon, in Greek Mythology, is under principle control of Diana. The Moon has been linked to the tidal activity of the world's oceans. The Moon has also been linked to the menstrual cycle of females. Now, to put all this into a viable and understandable construct, The Moon, in Greek Mythology is controlled by a woman, and said heavenly bodies' activity affects not only the world but women individualyl throughout this oceanic metropolis called Earth. Now, in American Mythology we have decided that the menstrual cycle effects females in quite a negative way, because honestly who else but the Birth Givers could sustain a pounding uterine pressure and excessive orificial bleeding for 5 days?

Now that you're all concentrating on a woman's menstrual cycle we can get to business. Once you view The Moon in this way it'll be easier for you, the reader, to tie Dark Side of The Moon abstractly to Roger Waters' inherent loathe of women.

Throughout the lyrics of Dark Side of The Moon, Mr. Waters speaks constantly through a female figure (we can extrapolate this from all the "Moon Meaning" in the above text). In "Breathe" -> "Money" our protagonist is frequently spoken at by an overbearing female figure. The album starts with a scream (the scream of birth) and from there the paranoid, materialistic views of an overbearing mommy get injected into our fragile little English Hero (presumably English). In "Breathe" our main character is encouraged to find his own path in life as long as he doesn't leave the friendly confines of his mother's suffocating love. "On The Run" has our character frantically running through an airport with his plane just about to take off, a modern metaphor for lack of time and the inability to seize the day. "Time" has our character lamenting about "hanging on in quiet desperation", while a reprise of "Breathe" helps to augment the sense of safety exhibited by our main character throughout his life. He never left home for very long, he never took risks and he became caught up in the materialistic nature of life. "All you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be" is a great way to sum up our protaganists life doctrine. He's believed all his life that appearance is what drives you in life, much like Roger Waters' mother tried to make him believe throughout his formative years.

In The Wall we have much more overt misogyny. There are two female characters in this magnum opus of "The Concept Album" era. The first character I will fill in later.

Новое интервью Роджера Уотерса журналу Crossroads, мартовское издание:
- теперь именем Pink FLoyd владеют David и Nick
- Live 8 изменил его отношение с David, но не так, как он надеялся
- он выступит на концертах с той же самой группой, что и была, за искл Bramhall,
у которого турне с Клэптоном
- Роджер по прежнему не знает, кто споет и сыграет Гилморские партии на концертах, но скоро решит эту проблему
- Роджер уже записал 12 песен и в проекте у него 2 альбома. Один по идее похож на ATD, а другой на P&C (но прямой связи между старыми альбомами и новыми - нет)
- Роджер понятия не имеет, когда их издаст, "турне задерживает издание этих альбомов" ,
