Если почитать материал,то выходит,что на первых трёх альбомах Сантана не был лидером,а на третьем лидером был аж 17-летний Нил Шон.Это, извиняюсь,чушь.

На "Supernatural" наблюдались задницы всех мастей и возрастов, но мы действительно копаться в этом вопросе не будем.
Что до Оззи, у меня он подобных чувств не вызывает. Даже если он выглядит не вполне здоровым человек, он все равно пашет, концерт за концертом.

1971 Concert Film With Santana Comes To DVD

(07/23/04) -- The 1971 concert film Soul To Soul, featuring such rockers as Carlos Santana, Ike and Tina Turner, Wilson Pickett and others performing in Ghana, West Africa will arrive on DVD on August 24th from Reelin' In The Years Productions and Rhino Home Video. Yeah, I never heard of it either. The special two-disc set includes remastered and restored version of the 95-minute film, plus an expanded soundtrack CD that includes performances not featured in the film.

Carlos Santana will be honored as the 2004 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year via performances by Black Eyed Peas, Dave Matthews, matchbox twenty's Rob Thomas, Robi Draco Rosa and Ozomatli, among others. The tribute will be held Aug. 30 at Los Angeles's Century Plaza Hotel.

Santana is also tipped to perform at the event, at which he will be honored for his "professional, cultural and philanthropic accomplishments," according to the organization. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the MusiCares Foundation, which offers medical and financial aid to individuals connected to the industry.

Santana's latest charitable endeavor is the 10-track album "Food for Thought," which is being sold exclusively at Baja Fresh Mexican Grill outlets. The disc includes four new Santana songs and one previously unreleased archive cut, plus handpicked tracks by Etta James, Buddy Guy, Indigenous and Cesaria Evora.

Proceeds will benefit the Milagro Foundation, which Santana founded in 1998 with his wife Deborah.

Santana is taking a break from the road but will return to the stage with a Sept. 30-Oct. 1 stand at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre.

Santana Collecting Songs For Next Album

Carlos Santana has begun collecting songs for his next studio album. "I'm going to complete the next Santana album with [BMG chairman/CEO] Mr. Clive Davis," the artist tells Billboard. "Right now we're collecting songs. It's like [the 1999 album] 'Supernatural.' What we did was we crafted songs like glass slippers, and then we find the Cinderellas."

As with his past few albums, the songs will precede the collaborations with other artists. "We're in the finding songs part," Santana says. "I'm just supremely grateful [to everyone] from Lauryn Hill to Dave Matthews to Placido Domingo. Most people only work with one level and stay there. Where 'I only do salsa, I only do norteno,' and they stay there. I only play music. Period. And that gives me a different spectrum that others don't enjoy."

Asked when this new album will be finished, Santana replies, "When it's done." The set will be the follow-up to 2002's "Shaman," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 2.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

As for the all-Spanish-language album Santana was mulling a few years back, the project has been shelved for now.

"I would like to work with so many people," he says. "One of my favorite bands is still Molotov. And of course Mana, Los Jaguares. And there are a lot of people [from Latin America] that we don't even know. But it's not in the agenda now. I think I would need to establish a different agenda with Spanish radio, Univision and Telemundo."

Steve Vai will perform the Carlos Santana track "Love of My Life" with Dave Matthews at an event honoring Santana with the 2004 Latin Recording Academy Person Of The Year award on Monday, Aug. 30, 2004 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. Actress Salma Hayek and the executive producer of the evening, Quincy Jones, will present Santana with the award at the tribute gala, which will be co-hosted by George Lopez and Cheech Marin.

LOS ANGELES - Carlos Santana speaks about the world like a benevolent visitor from outside it.

His views may be romantic and idealistic, but the guitarist is sincere. He was honored as the Latin Grammys person of the year Monday for his dedication to education, the fight against AIDS and other social endeavors.

Santana, who won nine Grammys for his 1999 album "Supernatural," talked to The Associated Press about his political views, his upcoming CD and how to absorb accolades without arrogance.

AP: How do you endure a night of praise like being named Latin Grammy person of the year without letting it go to your head?

Santana: I've been repeating for a long time that I am a beam of light that comes from the mind of God. That allows me, the more I say it, to grasp that I'm more than Mexican, or a human being. I am more than American or all the labels that we put on each other on this planet. Since I can definitely say that, like you, I am a beam of light that comes from the mind of God, then I don't have to squirm or interrupt people when they give me a compliment. I can say, "Thank you so much. And I'm very happy that my presence can bring joy into your life."

AP: You worked for free in 2003, donating the $2 million in profits from the "Shaman" album tour to combat AIDS in Africa. What motivates your charity work?

Santana: I'm very grateful that I'm in a position to be of service and give back. The people who I adore the most are Doctors Without Borders and (Nobel Peace Prize winner) Mr. Desmond Tutu, people who just roll up their sleeves, they feed, heal or bury. They don't have offices and all these expensive cars. Whatever money you give them, it goes straight to medicine.

AP: Your Web site had a link encouraging people to vote. How do you feel about the American presidential race?

Santana: I don't really feel too good about asking anyone to vote at this time because I basically don't have faith in either one of the two parties. I would like it better if we had a woman president, seven of them, instead of one. ... American Indian, Mexican, Irish, African-American. We need seven women to really represent the United States more from an integrity perspective.

AP: What are your thoughts on world events, like the war in Iraq?

Santana: Peace has never come from dropping bombs. Real peace comes from enlightenment and educating people to behave more in a divine matter. I do envision a world where water, electricity, food and education would be for free in the next 25 years for everyone on this planet. That's the beginning of dismantling fear, anger and politics and religion. The real evil in this world is politics and religion. Spirituality is the antidote because it is free.

AP: Do you feel cynical about the state of America?

Santana: I think American people are beautiful people, I think our government is not by the people, for the people and all that kind of stuff. It's a group of corporations ... who want to tell you how much insurance to buy for the things that they make you afraid of. I pay my taxes, I obey the law, but that's not who I'm accountable to. I'm accountable to a higher force. Therefore, people honor me — like this (Latin Grammy) award — because I'm not shucking and jiving, slipping and sliding ...

AP: Back to your music then, why did you release the 10-track CD "Food For Thought" through the Baja Fresh Mexican Grill restaurants?

Santana: Helping children. Baja was committed to helping children. (The profits for that disc went toward Santana's Milagro Foundation, which provides health and education to impoverished youth.)

AP: How far along are you on your next album?

Santana: I'm working on seven albums. I'm producing an album for Mr. Buddy Guy. I'm also working on the new Santana album, which I will turn into my friend and brother Mr. Clive Davis. There's a possibility of new people contributing, like Los Lonely Boys, possibly Sting, maybe Sean Paul ... I have an instrumental album that I'm due to release sometime. It's like seven to 10 things that I'm working on, but I'm not confused or scattered.

A two-CD deluxe edition of Santana's 1969 self-titled debut album is set to hit stores Oct. 19. The first disc will feature a remastered version of the original album and three outtakes from the set's recording sessions. The second disc will include an abandoned earlier version of the album that is said to be more jam-oriented, plus live performances from the 1969 Woodstock festival.

SANTANA POSTPONES ALBUM RELEASE

CARLOS SANTANA has been forced to postpone the release of his new album after failing to persuade STING and SHERYL CROW to join him for duets.

The Latino guitar great had planned to put his new disc, ALL THAT I AM, out next month (JUN05), but he insists it won't be ready in time.

The project, now set for a September (05) release, will feature collaborations with OUTKAST's BIG BOI, LOS LONELY BOYS and MARY J BLIGE, among others.

The album delay isn't expected to effect Santana's summer tour plans - he begins a string of North American dates in Florida on 30 May (05).

Santana will once again have a star studded line-up when his next album 'All That I Am' surfaces on September 6.

The album will feature guest appearances from Black Eyed Peas will I am, Mary J Blige, Los Lonely Boys and Big Boi.

Of the new album, Santana says "'All That I Am' is an extension and continuation of a vision co-created by Mr. Clive Davis and myself. We equate what we do with the dimensions of a three-ring circus or a Cirque du Soleil where children, teenagers, parents and grand parents can share unity and harmony in the family of life. We create songs and magic pairing to bring joy and happiness to the listener. Our deepest respect and gratitude to Clive Davis, Pete Ganbarg, Kevin Chisholm and all the artists, writers, producers and engineers."

The album is due September 6.

Meanwhile, an album isn't the only thing new coming from Santana. He now also has his own shoe, the Carlos by Carlos Santana.

A portion of proceeds from the sale of Carlos shoes will benefit his charity, the Milagro Foundation, established by Carlos and his wife Deborah in 1998. Milagro (which means Miracle) supports organizations worldwide working with children and youth in the areas of the arts, education and health, and since its inception has granted close to $2 million.

The release date for Santana's new album, "All That I Am," is on the move again. Having already been bumped from June 21 to Sept. 6, the Arista set is now pegged for a Nov. 1 release. No reason was given for the latest date change. Arista is also eyeing a Nov. 15 street date for the Santana DVD "A&E Live by Request."

"All That I Am" will be Santana's first studio album since 2002's "Shaman" and is expected to feature guest appearances by OutKast's Big Boi, Mary J. Blige, Los Lonely Boys, the Black Eyed Peas, Sean Paul, Robert Randolph and Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett.

Santana is in the midst of a short Japanese tour with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. A new leg of North American dates begins Sept. 15 in San Jose, Calif., and will feature support from Randolph and his Family Band.

Santana performs concert in Hiroshima

HIROSHIMA, Japan (AP) — Saying he was on a "mission to ignite peace," guitar legend Carlos Santana played before a sold-out crowd at a concert Tuesday to mark the 60th anniversary of the world's first atomic bomb attack.

"It is an honor to be here and to be of service with our music," Carlos Santana said of his performance at Hiroshima.

The concert was one of dozens of events this city is holding ahead of the memorial ceremony on Saturday. About 50,000 people, including Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, are expected to gather in Peace Memorial Park for Saturday's anniversary.

"It is an honor to be here and to be of service with our music," Santana told the "Emissaries for Peace" concert crowd of about 2,000. "We want to give birth to a world with peace in our lifetime."

Santana, joined by jazz greats Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, visited Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park earlier in the day. Last week, the trio played a similar concert in Nagasaki, which was devastated by an atomic bomb three days after the attack on Hiroshima.

About 200,000 people were killed in the blasts. Japan surrendered on Aug. 15, 1945, bringing World War II to a close.
