Мда, по сет-листу Live 8 судя, Пинк Флойд старательно страхуются на случай непредвиденного отказа Уотерса от участия в совместном выступлении: ни одной песни с его лидирующим вокалом не предусмотрено.
Что, вероятно, как раз и подтолкнёт Уотерса продинамить мероприятие.

PINK FLOYD REFUSE TO MAKE COMEBACK

Rock legends PINK FLOYD have refused to make a comeback - despite the success of their one-off reunion for Saturday's (02JUL05) star-studded London Live 8 concert.

The band - ROGER WATERS, DAVE GILMOUR, NICK MASON and RICHARD WRIGHT - reunited for their first performance in 24 years, and thrilled fans by playing four hit tracks including MONEY and WISH YOU WERE HERE.

But the foursome insist they will never perform together again, because they are too old.

Mason said, "Why did we reform? It's a damn good way of spending a weekend."

But when asked if the reunion was a once-in-a-lifetime event, Gilmour replied, "Yes."

It seems that Gigwise spoke too soon yesterday when we reported that things were looking peachy between long time adversaries Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour.

A few hours together at Live8 rehearsals yesterday was enough to start the former Pink Floyd bandmates bickering again – especially as the Sunday Mirror reports that Madonna turned up late and hogged the stage forcing them to wait for their practise session.

Looks like that reunion tour won’t be on the cards then…

One source suggested that the reunited band has been offered more than $200 million for a U.S. tour, but that Gilmour nixed the idea.

WISH YOU WERE HERE

PINK FLOYD’s classic line-up took to the stage for the first time in over twenty years tonight at LIVE 8 in LONDON (July 2).

The band reformed especially for the show and dedicated their performance to Syd Barrett, the founder member who left the band in the late 60s.

"It's great to be playing again with these three guys," said bassist Roger Waters as the band launched into 'Wish You Were Here'. "This is for the people who can't be here - especially Syd."

The band played four tracks including 'Money' and 'Comfortably Numb'. The line-up, Dave Gilmour, Roger Waters, Rick Wright and Nick Mason, had not played together since the mid-eighties, shortly after the release of 1983’s ’The Final Cut’.

Speaking before the gig Mason said the band had not even sat down to work out what songs to play, saying: “It's sort of assumed that we'll all remember how they go."

Of the reunion, the drummer told The Telegraph that Live 8 organiser Bob Geldof was the main force in getting the musicians back together.

”I think Bob wanted an addition to what he did last time,” he said. “He wanted a novelty act basically. It was a toss up between us and the Spice Girls. Not sure if we lost or won."

He added: “At this point it's nice to be remembered not just for a bunch of jolly tunes, but for something that might make a real difference to the world."

Geldof appeared in Pink Floyd’s film ’The Wall’ in 1982, directed by Alan Parker. It was at this time that he struck up a friendship with bassist Waters.

Mason said: “Roger and Bob have enormous respect for each other, The two of them together are a bit like Hitler and Stalin with a better sense of humour, and in Bob's case, worse hair."

The reunion of Pink Floyd is the penultimate act of the London Live 8 concert which will conclude with Sir Paul McCartney leading an all-star band.

ЭТО все-таки случилось!!!

Мне в принципе всё равно,будут они выступать вместе и дальше,будут ли записываться. А вот то,что идиотская ситуация как-то разрулилась,очень радует.Вряд ли после такого возможен возврат к ненависти.

Слышал сегодня по радио, что Мэйсон в интервью израильским журналистам не исключил подобного выступления в рамках како-то там акции "за мир между арабами и евреями".

MTV Cuts Off Pink Floyd

During MTV's coverage of the Live 8 music festival today, in their obsessive pursuit of revenue, the station decided to take a commercial break during the "historic" reunion of Pink Floyd. Besides that, the station's presenters decided to talk over some of the rest of the performance. Pink Floyd Snub $150million American Tour

Rock legends Pink Floyd have turned down a $150million offer to tour America.

Floyd guitarist and vocalist Dave Gilmour insists that the Live 8 reformation was a one-off and has written off rumours of any reunion tours.

As The Sun reports, Gilmour said: “We’ve been offered 150million dollars to do gigs in the States.

“It’s completely mad – and we won’t do it. The idea for Live 8 was a one-off.”

It’s been well known in recent years that Floyd members have been at loggerheads with each other since they split twenty years ago. It was a surprise for many that they buried the hatchet for their appearance at Live 8.

As we told you earlier today, the band have also urged Live 8 stars to give all their extra proceeds gained after their appearance to Live 8 to charity.

Pink Floyd are currently enjoying a resurgence in sales, clocking up a 1,300% increase in one music store since Live 8.

Кстати, а как давно Гилмор не брал в руки черный Страт? ;) Для меня это просто символ ранних PF... :) Люди более знающие, подскажите :)

Слушая на природе диск ANIMALS, поражался насколько он ритмически гармонирует с природой...

Виды славниые, но мне думается, что на FINAL CUT рельсы должны резко обрываться.
Тогда бы "картина" была бы логичной ... :)

Не знаю, может и показалось, но по моему в выступлении на Лайв Эйт в первой части Breathe была использована некая фонограмма. Вокал Дэйва отличается в первой и второй части.
Как думаете?
