Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and GRAMMY Award winner Sam Moore -- the voice so identified with his classic hits "Hold On! I'm Comin", "I Thank You," and of course "Soul Man" "-- recently completed an astonishing new solo album project 'Sam Moore: Overnight Sensational' (August 29, Rhino Records). Bass player/record executive/talent judge Randy Jackson served as producer for Moore, long famous as the seminal voice of the duo bearing his name. Jackson created the current and contemporary sound as a backdrop, but Sam's voice and energetic presence are front and center. 'Sam Moore: Overnight Sensational' also serves as the final recording for the late, consummate keyboard and recording great Billy Preston.

The 12 tracks on 'Sam Moore: Overnight Sensational,' feature the one and only "soul man" with support from over 20 of his superstar friends and fans including Jon Bon Jovi, Bekka Bramlett, Mariah Carey, Eric Clapton, Nikka Costa, Sheila E., Fantasia, Billy F. Gibbons, Vince Gill, Van Hunt, Billy Preston, Robert Randolph, Paul Rodgers, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Travis Tritt, BeBe Winans, Steve Winwood, Wynonna, and Zucchero. The diverse album 'Sam Moore: Overnight Sensational' also showcases Sam's love for country music on songs written by Garth Brooks and Conway Twitty.

Sam Moore says, "This album was such a joy to make. I admire and respect every one of the artists and musicians who sang and played with me. Randy Jackson, as a producer, has proven he's in a class by himself; the best there is."

Eric Clapton has today announced his first Australian tour since 1990. Five shows were announced around the country.

His current European tour has featured songs from his solo albums, as well as something from almost all of his legendary bands that he has been a part of over the years.

Clapton has had the #1 spot in the U.K. with six (yes six) bands - The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and The Dominoes, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and as a solo artist.
His hits include 'Layla', 'Tears In Heaven', 'Sunshine Of Your Love', 'Crossroads' and 'White Room'.

He will be in Australia early next year:
January
29 - Entertainment Centre, Sydney

February
3 - Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
6 - Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
9 - Entertainment Centre, Adelaide
11 - Members Equity Stadium, Perth

Eric Clapton will return to Japan later this year. The Japanese tour will begin on November 11 in Osaka and will travel to Nagoya, Tokyo, Sapporo, and Saitama through the beginning of December.
And, for the first time since 1990, Eric and his band will visit Australia for a series of dates in the new year 2007. This leg of the tour will begin on January 27, 2007 in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand for the Mission Estate Winery Concert and will travel through Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
These concerts come on the heels of a sold-out spring / summer European tour and fall concerts in the eastern United States. The U.S. tour will begin 16 September in Minneapolis and will travel to 13 U.S. states plus two Canadian shows in Toronto and Ottawa.

Bringing additional guitar power and excitement to the shows, Clapton has assembled an impressive band. The 2006 tour band will consist of: Eric Clapton, Guitar, as well as Doyle Bramhall II and Derek Trucks also on Guitar, Chris Stainton and Tim Carmon on Keyboards, Willie Weeks on Bass, Steve Jordan on Drums and backing vocals by Michelle John and Sharon White.

In November 1971, Ginger Baker, the legendary drummer of Cream and Blind Faith, decided to set up a recording studio in Lagos, then the capital of Nigeria. Baker was one of the first rock musicians to realize the potential of African music. He also decided that it would be a rewarding musical experience to travel to Nigeria over land across the Sahara desert – a journey that would lead him into a number of adventures. This film by Tony Palmer follows Ginger Baker’s odyssey as he makes his journey and finally arrives in Nigeria to set up his studio, which would run successfully through the seventies as a facility for both local and western musicians (Paul McCartney’s Wings recorded "Band On The Run" there).
