McCartney And Mills Divorce: Round 2 Thursday March 1

Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills are back in court for the latest round in their divorce battle. The former Beatle looked relaxed as he arrived at the High Court in London - his wife looked serious and ignored the waiting media. According to The Sun, Mills stormed out yesterday after the first day of the hearing went badly for her.

The paper says she was livid after Mr Justice Bennett threw out many of the lurid claims made against her estranged husband in a leaked document.

The judge is deciding which of the allegations against Sir Paul will be allowed.

Mills was reported to have been led out of court by a rear entrance, while Sir Paul emerged smiling 20 minutes later.

She is said to have rejected a £25m offer put forward by Sir Paul three weeks ago.

Mills was accompanied to the hearing by her solicitor, Anthony Julius, who won £17m for Princess Diana in her divorce from Prince Charles.

The five-hour court appearance was held in private - no names were pinned up outside and the case was identified only by its number.

Mills has accused Sir Paul of being violent during their four-year marriage - a claim he vehemently denies.

McCartney 'cheerful' at High Court Thursday March 1

A cheerful and sharply-suited Sir Paul McCartney arrived at the High Court as his divorce battle with Heather Mills continued.

He wished the gathered media "good morning" as he strode into Court 47 on the second floor of the Queen's Building, a minimalist 1960s edifice reserved for private family hearings.

The manner of the former Beatles star, who is said to be worth Ј825 million, was in sharp contrast to a serious-looking Miss Mills, who ignored the media as she towed a case full of her legal documents into the court.

The hearing, which began on Wednesday before Mr Justice Bennett, will be strictly in private but is believed to be a preliminary hearing before the start of the main action.

Although the cases in the Queen's Building are held in private, the names of the parties are invariably posted outside the court with the case number.

But the McCartney/Mills hearing was listed as "Case" with the number FD06D03721.

Sir Paul arrived at the court by car, which was ushered into a car park used mainly by judges.

SIR Paul McCartney hops into a car with daughter Beatrice — after bumping into fellow Beatles legend Ringo Starr.

Macca met the 66-year-old drummer and his actress wife Barbara Bach, 59, as he picked up Beatrice, three, from a party.

But he couldn’t chat for long — so no doubt he’ll give his old pal a ring. Ringo was one of the first to give 64-year-old Paul plenty of support after his split from wife Heather Mills, 39.

Macca — whose grown-up daughters Stella, 35, and Mary, 37, were also at the bash in Westbourne Grove, West London — looked relaxed despite the bitter High Court divorce battle.

With a little help from his friends he’ll pull through...
