Food Red's got cred

FOOD MICHAEL KESSLER Julian Lennon has backed the vision of a team of Aussie chefs and entrepreneurs in Mallorca.

Soon after Australians Nick Morgan and Nick Peters had become involved in the Red Bar restaurant and lounge just outside the Mallorcan capital of Palma de Mallorca, they began to question their own judgment. Problems with their neighbours and with their boss threatened to sink their dream under a pile of debt.
Luckily, Julian Lennon – the son of you know who – lived nearby, took a liking to the pair and decided to back their vision. The result was a reborn Red Bar with an enhanced Aussie connection through chefs Aaron O’Brien-Whitney and Shaun White, who between them have worked everywhere from Dish in Byron Bay to Rockpool in Sydney, and have put together a menu showcasing innovative fare lsuch as prawn and shiitake dumplings with a kiwifruit and ginger relish.

Says Lennon, who seldom talks to the press: “This is partly my initial idea, partly the boys’ really. They’re gung-ho, it’s their vision, their dream.”

After 20 years of nightclubs, Lennon prefers to chill out a bit more of an evening. But he does have plenty of ideas for the future – licensing laws permitting: “The idea is to bring in old friends like Herbie Hancock. You’ve got the ‘Jazz in June’ festivals in France and a lot of old mates of mine play that circuit. But in the six years I’ve been here [in Palma] I haven’t seen a lot of that ... The whole concept behind this is that it’s completely intimate, you can fit maybe 100 people, high-price tickets, food, drink, watch, shake hands, have a drink with – well, almost – Herbie and the gang.”

Hi folks!

Well, yet again another year has come and is nearly gone . and once more
it's time to put up the decorations ready for the holiday season. For
some it's been a great year . for others, not so good . and there are a
few who have lost someone close and special. Sadly, I fall into the last
category.

Earlier this month a dear friend of ours, who used to work with us at
Music From Another Room and who helped me design the album cover for
Photograph Smile, passed away. Her name was Angelika Letsch, and her
passing is another reminder of how fragile life is. She will be greatly
missed by those who knew her, but there's no doubt that many glasses will
be raised in her honour over the holidays.

On a more positive note, Blowfish seems to be doing pretty good and we've
had some great reviews. I'm also working on some other design projects,
which I'll let you know about in the New Year, provided all goes well!

For once, I truly feel as though I've left music alone for a little too
long and now I'm feeling the 'itch' to get back to it. Fortunately, the
upgrades to my home studio are just about finished so it won't be long
before I get something out there again, one way or another. In fact, I
feel that next year it's time to be heard again. Thanks for bearing with
me for so long! I won't let you down!

Итак, вашему вниманию предлагается редкий достаточно диск. Третий альбом Джулиана, Mr Jordan, 1989 года. Копия с оригинального лицензионного диска, который каким-то чудом оказался в магазине, рядом с новыми компактами, и был куплен мной. Меня ничуть не расстроило, то что диск старый и поюзанный кем-то, он прекрасно сохранился несмотря на солидный возраст - 15 лет с лишним судя по всему :).

Диск довольно своеобразный, но после некоторого времени понадобившегося на привыкание мне он начал нравится.

Вот так новость! Даже для меня сюрприз... Но раз Вы говорите, что будет - значит, должна быть. Идея мне нравится. Сделаем редкие миксы песен Джулиана достоянием широкой общественности! Надо бы обсудить такую возможность с дядями Володей и Мишей, да и самой поучаствовать:)

Лично меня перспектива рассказывать в передачах о Джулиане о его брате не очень вдохновляет. Слишком они разные, и незачем все в одну кучу валить... А так, против Шона я, в принципе, ничего не имею, хоть его музыка, пожалуй, для меня слишком модная и греет душу несколько меньше, чем творчество Джулиана. Хотя под настроение очень даже могу послушать альбом "Into The Sun", и не без удовольствия:)
А ежели у Вас есть какие-то конкретные наболевшие вопросы, касающиеся Шона Леннона, попробуйте написать мне через beatles.ru личное письмецо, может смогу помочь их разрешить...

Для тех кому сильно нечего делать или просто для больших фанатов :D. Прочищенный мной чуток винил-рип Valotte. Качество... кхм, вообщем местами почти хорошо, кое где запилы заметны конечно, на одной песне плавала скорость малость :). Одним файлом, 50 мегабайт, стороны B и А подряд соотвественно (извиняюсь, что наоборот, но уже поздно ;).

Hi folks

Here we are at the start of 2005. I hope everyone's on track for whatever
may unfold this year . with luck it will be positive for all of us!

Since the beginning of the year I've been thinking about my past work and
how much of it's unavailable to many people - especially the new
generation - because the record labels and distributors I worked with in
the past have, in their wisdom, shelved several of my CDs. One of my goals
this year is to try and make my past catalogue available again . not only
to those who might want a refresher . but also to those who have never
heard my songs before . and also for those who want to hear my past work
in tandem with my new music. There are recordings which have never seen
the light of day, tracks that weren't quite right for previous albums,
which I would like to release and make available to you, otherwise what's
the point of having done it in the first place! Anyway, one way or another
I intend to start getting my songs out there again! More to come on that
subject .

On another note, I'm looking to revamp www.julianlennon.com this year, as
this will be my sole 'shop front' and 'office' for any communications and
transactions in the future. This may mean the site is unavailable at
times, so please be patient.

I'm also in the process of finally putting together a team that will
totally support me and see me through the plans and visions I have for the
future, whether it be in music, film, production or anything else creative
I endeavour to do. I've learnt that the saying 'If You Want Something
Done, Do It Yourself' is absolutely true!

There are many other things on my To Do list for this year . this is just
the start . one step at a time .

Last, but not least, yes it's nearly that birthday time of year again! I
just want to say thank you to all of you who send me cards and emails and
good wishes, whether that's for my birthday or for any other occasion.

LENNON IN-LAW QUIZZED OVER CHILD SEX ASSAULT

The future father-in-law of JOHN LENNON's son JULIAN has been arrested over alleged sexual assaults on an eight-year-old girl.

Police on the Spanish Balearic island of Majorca are questioning multi-millionaire Robert Bayliss after a girl claimed he touched her when she visited a shop he owns on the island.

The married father of three, who will also answer allegations of offences involving the girls six-year-old sister, has been held in custody for six days.

Bayliss' daughter Lucy, 31 is dating and due to marry 42-year-old Julian Lennon - the former BEATLE's son with his first wife Cynthia.
