Radio Luxembourg transmits an interview with Paul, promoting his album Back To The Egg.

The "Art Of The Beatles" Exhibition, portraying 30 years of the group in the form of cartoons, paintings, photographs, album covers, lithographs and sculptures, continues.

1989
In London, an out-of-court settlement is reached in the Beatles' lawsuit against "Dave Clark Ltd.". The outcome states that Dave Clark, former drummer for the Dave Clark Five, retains the rights to market the "Ready, Steady Go! shows which the Beatles made three appearances from 1963 to 1964.

1990
Paul and group perform at the Music Therapy Concert, Knebworth Park, Knebworth, Hertfordshire ("Paul McCartney World Tour").

In the US, a laser disc version of "Ringo Starr And His All-Starr Band" is released (recorded September 3, 1989).

Shooting begins for the Dick Clark production of "The Birth Of The Beatles".

In Bermuda, unable to reach Yoko at the Dakota during one of his daily phone rituals, John writes the song "I'm Losing You".

Yoko returns to the Hit Factory in New York to work on the leftover tracks from Double Fantasy.

Paul records an interview to be aired only on London hospital radio stations. The program is called "Paul McCartney's Bedside Manners".

UK album release: Porky's Revenge, featuring George's version of "I Don't Want To Do It".

In the High Court in London, Ringo is ordered to increase his annual alimony payments from £44,000 to £70,000. Through his lawyer, Ringo immediately issues an appeal.

In the UK, the audio cassettes entitled "Only The Beatles..." are sent to customers who have sent in £2.99 and four lager ring pulls from special Heineken Beatles tins. The tapes contain the songs "Love Me Do", "Twist And Shout", "She Loves You", "This Boy", "Eight Days A Week", "All My Loving", "Ticket To Ride", "Yes It Is", "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da", "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds", "And I Love Her" and "Strawberry Fields Forever".

In London, Pink Floyd, The Who, Madonna, U2, Coldplay, Sting, The Scissor Sisters, Keane, and Paul McCartney perform in concert as part of the world's biggest event. Concerts held in 10 cities, including London, Philadelphia, Paris, Berlin, Johannesburg, Rome and Moscow. The concerts around the world were to put pressure on political leaders ahead of the G8 summit to tackle poverty in Africa.
