News is released that Linda died at the McCartney's ranch in Arizona. It had been previously reported that she passed away in Santa Barbara, California.
1999
At the Bonhams rock and pop auction in London, John's Vox stage organ, used during the Beatles' performance of "I'm Down" at the Shea Stadium concert in 1965, is sold for Ј19,500. Also sold is one of Ringo's suits for Ј1,300, while his old Chevrolet sells for Ј4,200. A set of Beatles Subbutteo figures sell for Ј420.
