Репетиции мюзикла "Человек-паук" (Spider-Man) начнутся в июле 2007 года в Нью-Йорке, сообщается на сайте Playbill.

Музыку для основанной на комиксах Marvel Comics постановки написали Боно и Эдж. Известно, что кроме самого Человека-паука/Питера Паркера на сцене появятся такие персонажи как его подружка Мэри Джейн, злодей Номан Осборн (он же Зеленый Гоблин) и женщина-паук по имени Арахна (Arachne).

Режиссером спектакля стала Джули Тэймор (Julie Taymor). Отечественным зрителям она известна по фильму "Фрида" (Frida), рассказывающему о жизни художницы Фриды Кало. Кроме того, под руководством Тэймор на Бродвее в 1997 году был поставлен мюзикл "Король-лев" (The Lion King).

"PopMart Live from Mexico City" DVD Release

SANTA MONICA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 04, 2007 -- U2 will release a DVD version of "PopMart Live from Mexico City" on June 26, 2007 through Island Records/Interscope/UMe.

Filmed at the Foro Sol Autodromo in Mexico City on 3rd December 1997, "PopMart Live from Mexico City" was directed by David Mallet and first released on video the following year; this is the first time it has been released on DVD.

Described as a sci-fi disco supermarket, the "PopMart" Tour opened in its "spiritual home," Las Vegas, on 25th April 1997. All trash and kitsch, "PopMart" introduced a giant mirrorball lemon, a 100ft cocktail stick -- complete with olive, and the works of Lichtenstein, Warhol and Haring, to a live rock audience: a production experience never quite seen before.

Originally filmed on analogue video, the film has been transferred to a digital format with re-graded and cleaned pictures. Great care has been taken to maintain the original look by simply enhancing it, with an added degree of sharpness and contrast unavailable when originally filmed. The audio has also been re-mastered and mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound.

"PopMart Live from Mexico City" will be available in two formats: a Standard 1-disc format containing the concert, and a Special Limited Edition 2-disc format, the 2nd bonus disc containing previously unreleased live audio and video material, including documentaries, a "PopMart" tour visuals montage, and DVD-ROM extras.

A concert in Ireland

At a U2 concert in Ireland , Bono (the lead singer) asks the audience for some quiet. Then he starts to slowly clap his hands. Holding the audience in total silence, he says into the microphone...."I want you to think about something. Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies"
A voice from the front of the audience yells out...."Then stop clapping, ya asshole!"

Wife-less U2 frontman Bono soaks in the sun with two lovely ladies — actress Penelope Cruz and former supermodel Helena Christensen — on Thursday at the Club 55 harbor in Saint Tropez, France.

Bono is one lucky man!!

The trio was seen leaving the VIP Room at 4AM looking very friendly with each other. Bono, 47, was seen taking them each by the hand and helping them board their private boat. The weather down there looks spectacular!!

Брайан Ино и Дэниэл Лануа начали работу с U2 над следующим альбомом. Только в этот раз они выступают не как продюсеры, а как соавторы песен. Уже проведены три совместные сессии, одна в Марокко и две во Франции. Как говорит Лануа, "альбом пишется как бы сам собой".
Съемки сессии в Марокко войдут в документальный фильм Лануа "Here Is What Is", который будет показан на кинофестивале в Торонто в сентябре (http://www.daniellanois.com/hereiswhatis/pressrelease.htm). В фильме также снимались Sinead O’Connor, Emmylou Harris, Billy Bob Thornton, Brian Eno, Willie Nelson, Garth Hudson и Aaron Neville.
