Очень странно, но почему-то ни разу на форуме не затрагивались личности, упомянутые в сабже. Ни за что не поверю, что среди здешних читателей и писателей нет людей, которые бы в свое время не "тащились" от кэролкинговского альбома Tapestry и ее гениальных вещей вроде перепетой массой народа You've Got A Friend.
Кстати, Битлз на заре своей туманной юности тоже спели одну ее песенку Chains, написанную совместно с Gerry Goffin.
Что касается Джеймса Тейлора, то, как известно, первые его диски в конце 60-х были выпущены на Apple Records.
А его Fire and Rain - вообще одна из самых замечательных песен прошлого века. Ее кстати, тоже каверили все кому не лень. Пожалуй самый знаменитый вариант был у Blood, Sweat & Tears

Да, Tapestry в свое время надолго оккупировал первые места хит-парадов...К своему стыду, так и не удосужился прослушать. "Будем искать!"

James Taylor Teams with Hallmark for Holidays

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - James Taylor will release a new Christmas album Nov. 1 that will be available exclusively through Hallmark stores.

The project is Taylor's first since 2002's "October Road," his last album for Columbia Records.

Taylor's manager, Gary Borman, said the singer-songwriter is writing a new project. When the album is completed, Borman said, "we'll send up our periscope and see who's still alive and kicking and make our decision then about a label." He added that based on the current playing field, he would expect Taylor to remain on a major label.

Потрясающий дядька - начинал вместе с Гремом Парсонсом, в 60-е наваял кучу потрясающе мелодичных песен типа "Me And You And A Dog Named Boo". А потом надолго уехал в Азию, жил в Тае, Малайзии... Там его знают и любят, а в америке забыли напрочь! Один из его последних дисков на eBay ниже ста баксов не опускается, да и бывает там раз в сто лет...

Carole King's 2005 concert in Temecula, Calif., forms the basis of "Welcome to My Living Room," due Oct. 23 on DVD via Rockingale Records. The performance, which was part of King's 2005-6 Living Room tour, boasts such hits as "It's Too Late," "I Feel the Earth Move," "You've Got a Friend" and "Loving You Forever."

During these shows, King and her band would perform an unrehearsed song each night, a process documented on the DVD via a bonus interview. Also spotlighted are tour rehearsals and chats with King about the creation of the intimate tour.

In a first, "Welcome to My Living Room" is packaged with 100% recycled fiber and printed with eco-friendly ink.

King will be back on stage in November for five Japanese shows as part of the 3 Great American Voices tour with Mary J. Blige and Fergie.

Она какая-то вездесущая :-))) Мне лично очень импонирует ее манера пения , голос (очень мягкий и чувственный ) Гобелен конечно шедевр - наверное единственный (и точно первый) альбом , написанный женщиной , который и по творческому , и по коммерческому успеху соперничает с альбомами рок-титанов . Кроме Гобелена нравятся Music ,Wrap Around Joy , Speeding Time . Если кто видел фильм Их собственная лига , тот наверняка помнит ее замечательную песню Now and forever (с этой песней я впервые познакомился с творчеством этой неординарной певицы и сочинительницы )

A release date of May 4th has been set for Carole King and James Taylor’s ‘Live At The Troubadour’ CD/DVD.
In November of 1970 James Taylor and Carole King first performed together at the Troubadour on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, California. King was a famous song writer and Taylor had just finished recording a new album with Apple Records.
The return to the intimate Troubadour–the fertile ground that served as the unofficial home to a some of the era’s defining musicians such as the Eagles, Elton John, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt and Joni Mitchell–rekindled King’s and Taylor’s love for making music together. Recent news of a reunion tour has delighted fans. The 60-concert “Troubadour Reunion” world tour kicks off in Melbourne, Australia today, March 26, 2010. Carole King and James Taylor will be stopping by the Palace of Auburn Hills on May 27, 2010.

Широкие массы не оценили «One Man Dog» — вероятно, он показался слишком экспериментальным и эксцентричным. Может быть, даже слишком восторженным. Однако, многие преданные фанаты Джеймса Тейлора считают, что эта пластинка — лучшее из того, что он записал за свою 50-летнюю карьеру.
