Heather follows Linda with veggie book The plans of Miss Mills - who now prefers to be known as Heather Mills McCartney - have already caused some distaste among publishers and are likely to upset her stepchildren, who were dismayed when their 60-year-old father remarried.

'Oh my God,' was how one friend of Sir Paul's daughter Stella reacted. 'They are all going to be furious.

'As a family brought up to value privacy, they have already been staggered that she has written a book about her life with Paul. To do this will infuriate them. Vegetarian food was a subject beloved of Linda and it helped carve out for her a career separate to Paul's.

'For Heather to jump on that bandwagon is disgusting.

'Stella is getting married in December, so they will be meeting to discuss plans when Paul returns from his U.S. tour in the next few days. There will be some pretty heated converstations.'

The book is still at an early stage, according to Miss Mills McCartney's spokesman. As well as recipes it will include ideas on decorations, furnishings and party-giving.

It will be the onelegged blonde's second book. She wrote her autobiography, A Single Step, before meeting Sir Paul and recently updated it for sale in America with a chapter about their romance.

In it, she claims she was nearly stabbed to death by a lesbian flatmate and held captive by a paedophile - and describes how she lived rough on the streets.

Her spokesman said of her vegetarian book: 'It has not been written yet, but we are talking about it with an agent and there has been some interest from publishers.'

Miss Mills McCartney is on a publicity tour for her first book and recently amazed a U.S. television audience by whipping off her false leg during an interview with Larry King.

The interviewer was stunned as the exmodel, who lost part of her leg when she was run over by a police motorcycle in London in 1993, described how the artificial limb pops on and off.

Should anyone wonder why Paul McCartney's children have taken such a dislike to Heather Mills - her next book should clear it up. The fame-hungry younger wife of Paul's is to publish her third book – following on from her two autobiographies Out on a Limb and A Single Step – a vegetarian recipe book. The second Lady McCartney appears to be blithely stepping into the territory of Paul's first wife, Linda, who was a die-hard vegetarian and died of breast cancer in 1998. Heather's book, which is currently being touted to various publishers, is a 'lifestyle' book, incorporating vegetarian recipes, decorations, furnishing and party-giving ideas. One anonymous publisher, who has turned the book down said, 'Her giving the how-to of vegetarian food is treading on the toes of Paul's beloved late wife, Linda, and will not go over well.'
