At a press conference, to coincide with the opening of the new facilities, Liverpool Airport is renamed the "Liverpool John Lennon Airport". A new logo featuring John's scribbled self-portrait with the words "above us only sky" taken from his song "Imagine" is adopted. Yoko Ono is in attendance.
2005
In London, Pink Floyd, The Who, Madonna, U2, Coldplay, Sting, The Scissor Sisters, Keane, and Paul McCartney perform in concert as part of the world's biggest event. Concerts held in 10 cities, including London, Philadelphia, Paris, Berlin, Johannesburg, Rome and Moscow. The concerts around the world were to put pressure on political leaders ahead of the G8 summit to tackle poverty in Africa.

The Liverpool John Moores Art and Design Academy renamed one of their buildings to the John Lennon Art and Design Building, featuring the self-penned line drawing of John.
The exhibit Linda McCartney retrospective is displayed at the Kunst Haus Wien in Vienna, Austria. The new exhibition is the first comprehensive retrospective of Linda McCartney’s work featuring 190 of her iconic photographs.
2014
